About Stephanie molligoda

We bought Dudley House and the pizza place situated below in 2007 shortly after we got married. We lived there for 5 wonderful years but had to move out when we heard we were expecting our fourth child...we needed a bigger garden! We now live in a village a couple of miles away.

Notes on accommodation: Please note that this lovely maisonette is situated above a pizza takeaway (owned by the same owners as Dudley House itself) and has a bar next door so there is sometimes some noise in high summer. All guests who visit during the summer months get a complimentary pizza takeaway voucher on arrival. Outside: Small rooftop terrace with outdoor table and chairs and clothes airer. Utility Room: Washing machine, freezer and access onto small rooftop terrace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The property is cleaned at changeover (which is normally a Friday in high season) and has bed linen and towels included in the price. We offer short breaks in mid and low season.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was excellent and had everything we needed.

I can highly recommend anyone staying here.

Great location- right by beach, shops and restaurants.

Lovely comfortable apartment in an ideal location on south street, which avoids climbing up the hills to so many of the holiday houses in Woolacombe. Clean, and great views from main living room. Would benefit from a few more cooking/ eating utensils, and some attention on the outside area which is of limited use at present.

Also we are planning to refurbish the roof terrace in time for the 2018 spring/summer season as I agree with you, it is under utilised at present. Excellent location and lovely flat

The flat could not be better located for the beach and all the amenities in Woolacombe. I thought the flat had a lovely feel to it and really enjoyed our stay. The flat is spacious with two floors, which I hadn't appreciated when I booked it so a nice surprise. The terrace is useful for hanging out wetsuits and swimsuits and storing boards.

This is a cracking apartment - large and centrally located

We had a week at Dudley House at the very beginning of August 2016. The apartment is great - much larger than we were expecting with everything you need for a break at the UK seaside. It is really well spec'ed and has a home from home feel. Having a table allowed the grown ups to torment the boys with board games. But the fast and reliable broadband meant they didn't feel too cut off. If you have teenagers you understand while this matters.

Husband and 2 teenage boys went off and surfed each day and because the apartment is located within easy walking distant of the beach the damper days of the English summer didn't matter. They just got kitted out in the apartment and went anyway - board under arm for a couple of hours. And when the sun shone Woolacombe beach is awesome. Great for little people and bigger people.

There are plenty of pubs and restaurants within minutes but if you want to cook the kitchen is decently equipped to do so.

Really recommend this property. When we next head to Devon for a surf break we'll be checking availability here first.

Dudley House is situated approximately 400m (a 2 minute walk) from Woolacombe Beach (voted Britain's number one beach according to Trip Advisor 2015). Woolacombe Beach is famous for its 3 miles of golden sands and is very popular amongst surfers and families for beach holidays. The village is surrounded by national trust land providing stunning coastal and countryside walks and is part of the route of the South West Coast Path.


Our nearest town is the market town of Barnstaple, 12 miles away which has supermarkets, cinema complex, a leisure centre and many other shops and tourist attractions. There are also smaller supermarkets in Braunton and Ilfracombe. Next to Woolacombe is the charming village of Mortehoe which is a perfect spot for a traditional pub lunch and then walk out to the headland to see if you can spot any seals sunbathing on the rocks.

Further Details:

As well as having Woolacombe Beach on our doorstep, we would highly recommend visiting the small cove of Barricane (about 10 mins walk away) for a lovely sheltered spot for shell collecting, rock climbing and best of all enjoying the beach cafe at Barricane which serves Sri Lankan curry in the evenings - simply magic! Within 10-15 minutes of drive of Woolacombe are the beaches of Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton, perfect if you fancy exploring whilst here.
