Beautiful property. Very good location near sea and shops. Lots of space for the whole family.
Excellently equipped. Appreciated the number of ensuite/ shower facilities. Also a choice of areas to sit and relax. Even board games and jigsaw puzzles were available to use.
It was nice to be able to walk to the centre of the town for shopping and also to the sea front. We probably would have taken advantage of the barbecue facilities provided, had it been a warmer time of year.
Car parking for a second vehicle was arranged in the street with a provided permit. Spaces were limited and although we did not have too much of a problem, we did wonder if there would be issues during the summer season.
The whole family had a great holiday and we would certainly be very happy to return to the property should we return to the IOW in the future.
Thank you for helping to make our holiday so memorable.
Ideal house, perfectly situated.
Delighted to have ticked all the boxes and look forward to these guests returning again soon.
Fab family break
We had a lovely time. The house was amazing and is set in a perfect position. The views were great and made for a lovely family break
excellent, perfect location
High standard of accommodation close to high speed passenger ferry, shops, restaurants, marina, sea front. Great views, quiet location.
Fabulous property in a great location
As a group of friends and a well behaved dog, we had a fantastic long weekend at Cliffhanger in March. The property is stunning with a magnificent winding staircase leading all the way up to the roof terrace, where the views over Cowes and the Solent are fantastic. The owner Chris was very easy to deal with and immediately sorted a minor hiccup following our arrival. The bedrooms can be set up with either twins or doubles, which is very convenient and the kitchen wants for nothing.
I can imagine the property is in high demand through the summer months, with its location giving a great view of the sailing yachts and larger ships entering and leaving Southampton. Guess the length and tonnage was a great game to play sitting on the terrace or balcony.
Just one enhancement, might be the introduction of wifi boosters to the top and bottom floors. A simple fix, which would support streaming to the lounge tv and browsing on the roof terrace, searching for the name of the passing ships.
We would highly recommend Cliffhanger and may well return in the near future.
It was great pleasure to have these guests to stay and I am delighted they had a fantastic weekend. Comments about the wifi are much appreciated and will be acted upon.
Fabulous views of the harbour and Spinnaker Tower
The property was clean and bright and well laid out. It is set over 5 floors, so keeps you fit - more than made up for by the views from the upper rooms. The large dining room made family meals relaxed and comfortable and the kitchen on the same floor made serving and clearing easy. Situated so centrally that takeaways, restaurants and shops were all 5 minutes away. A great house and location, thank you.
Special interest holidays: Cliffhanger is located on the edge of Cowes old town in this famous yachting centre on the lovely Isle of Wight. Situated just above the town, it enjoys panoramic views over the Solent whilst being only a few minutes walk from the yacht marinas, shops and restaurants of the high street and the open spaces of Northwood Park. The Isle of Wight has a multitude of attractions and offers everything you could want for the family and groups of friends, such as Robin Hill, Blackgang Chine and the Needles Pleasure Park to the historical Osborne House (home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert) and Carisbrooke Castle (where Charles 1st was imprisoned). The beautiful coast and rural environment are all there to be discovered by foot, bike, car or yacht with easy access to coastal paths and cycle routes from the house.
