About the property

2 Bedroom Thatched Cottage in Ruan Minor, Ideally Situated For Coastal Walks, Sandy Coves, Gardens and local attractions.

Trying to keep the character of this 18th century thatched labourers dwelling, Anna's Cottage is tastefully furnished with antique furniture, yet well supplied with modern conveniences including WiFi.

Upstairs there is one double room with an antique brass bed, and one single bedroom, there is also a double sofa bed in the lounge to enable the cottage to sleep a total of five.

A safety gate at the top of the stairs ensures your child's safety.

The downstairs bathroom features an "L" shaped bath with electric shower and a separate toilet enclosure.

The beamed lounge has a fan electric fire in addition to the night storage heater. The large flat screen freeview TV also has a DVD player attached. There are an assortment of books available, please feel free to swap.

The kitchen is well equiped with hob, oven, microwave and toaster to heat food.

To cool it there are separate freezer and fridge.

The dishwasher will take care of the washing up.

An adjoining cuboard houses the washing machine along with the hot water tank, ironing board and clother airer.

An extension is at the rear of the kitchen; this is the sunroom with glass roof.

The dining table and chairs allows for indoor eating but with a stable door leading to the garden, the outside furniture allows for "Al Fresco" dining. The charcoal Barbecue is available to char the odd sausage or burger.

The small garden with a quince tree and various shrubs is fully enclosed allowing your pet and/or children to remain safely within the boundaries.

There is exclusive off road parking next to the cottage.

With fresh flowers and a welcoming cream tea, many visitors return every year where Anna's Cottage is home from home.

About Mrs Anna Fowles

I live in Mullion, Cornwall with my husband David. We have lived here for over 30 years as David served with the Royal Navy at the nearby RNAS Culdrose.

With David retired, we both wanted to stay in Cornwall as we love the area.

Why Mrs Anna Fowles chose Lizard Peninsula

We loved the idea of being able to look after a building that has stood for over 250 years. Being thatched just added to the attraction.

The local area is so diverse. If the wind is from the West, there are East facing beaches. If the wind is from The East, there are West facing beaches. You can hire boats from Falmouth and Helford. There is the coastal path where you can imagine yourselves as Ross and Demelza Poldark. There is horse riding. There is Golf.

What makes this cottage unique

Going down to the local pub in Cadgwith on a Friday evening is not to be missed. The local fishermen "The Cadgwith Singers" entertain. If the weather is good, they will be singing on the beach.

Our third stay at the cottage and it's as warm, clean and comfortable as ever. This is the place where you can totally relax. The cream tea was very welcome and made a perfect start to a lovely holiday.

We love the cottage & the cream tea was a lovely idea as it saved cooking! We walked every day so surely burned off the callories! Fave walks were from the left of the church to Carlean Cove & along the coast to Cadgwith. All of the walks on the Lizard, Church Cove and our absolutely favourite was around Helford Village. It is simply beautiful and the pub overlooking the river is like a picture postcard. (the beer is fab too!). Coverack is also a must and if you have time, St Ives & The Minnack at Porthcurno. Last but not least is Cadgwith Cove itself - the jewel in the crown. We love it all & so will you.

P.S. Have to go home cos the dog needs a rest.

This lovely cottage is situated in pretty village within walking distance of Cadgwith cove and the South West coastal path . The cottage is very clean and cosy with a pretty garden to sit and relax in.

A dream home

A truly beautiful cottage, in a stunning location. We genuinely did not want to leave !!! The cottage is superbly kitted out with everything we needed for a relaxing week. Three generations of my family fell in love with the place, can't wait to come back again !! Thank you Anna !

A really lovely cottage

We spent four nights at Anna's Cottage and had the nicest time. The weather was a bit mixed but it didn't matter as the cottage is so cosy and comfortable with enough space for the two of us plus our dog. The location is great, with a short walk down to Cadgwith Cove. Kennack Sands has a dog friendly beach and was only a five minute drive or 40 minute walk along the spectacular South West Coast Path from Poltesco. It is also ideally positioned if you want to explore the wider Lizard and Penwith Peninsulas with most places at most only an hour away by car. We would have loved to have stayed longer and hope to be back soon!

WOW !!

Annas cottage is perfect.... Clean, Cosy, Relaxing and everything you need is to hand. On arrival we were greeted by Anna (owner). A lovely cream tea was waiting for us when we arrived. Small Post office 2 mins walk which supplies all essentials needed. Short walk to Cadgwith Inn with excellent food (steep hill walking back) but a must as such a beautiful cove. We will definitely return as such an ideal location.

small but perfectly formed

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location. Clean and tidy with absolutely everything we could possibly need provided. A short walk to a great local pub it is a steep hill though. A great base for exploring southern Cornwall, less than an hour to St Ives, and St Micheals Mount only 15 minutes to fantastic restaurants in Porthleven. Two beautiful beaches within 5 minutes Kynance cove is stunning but was windy with big waves when we went, Kennack sands is a sheltered cove and a real sun trap. All in all a great cottage in a beautiful location.

Further Details:

Ruan Minor village with its creeper clad Church has a Post Office and General Store.

Cadgwith at 1/2 mile away has a very popular pub and restaurants.

A 25% deposit is normally required on booking, with the balance payable on arrival.

Changeover Day:
Customers are requested to arrive no earlier than 3pm and are requested to vacate the property no later than 10am on the day of their departure. Normal changeover day is a Saturday.

Notes on prices:
Prices include all bedding, towels, electricity, heating, flowers and a full cream tea on arrival. We also supply basics such as tea towels/sponges/cleaning products etc.
For breaks of 2 weeks we are happy to supply clean bedding/towels/etc for your 2nd and subsequent weeks.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
