Light, Open Plan, 4 Bedrooms, Pool, Perfect Relaxing and Entertaining Retreat

Valbonne is conveniently located between the sea and the mountains; approximately 25 minutes drive from Nice Airport, 20 minutes from the beach at Cannes and 15 minutes from the historic port town of Antibes.

The villa is a private, gated property approximately 12 minutes walk (3 - 4 minutes drive) from the center of Valbonne. It sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms (3 x double beds / 1 x 2 single beds). There are 3 bathrooms, 2 W.C. and plenty of wardrobe space. All 4 bedrooms are air-conditioned.

The main part of the house is largely open plan with both formal/informal seating and dining areas on different levels, making it the ideal house for groups of friends and family to gather.

The modern architecture offers a spacious indoor/outdoor feel with numerous sliding glass doors enabling the breeze to flow through the property. Built on a gentle slope, the communal areas are downstairs and most bedrooms upstairs in order to take full advantage of the views and the breeze.

Large outdoor terraces afford alfresco eating and seating and there is an infinity pool in which to cool off. The garden is terraced and on the east side of the property, it abuts the protected woods.

The villa is very fully equipped with comprehensive kitchen equipment, white goods, laundry room and accessories. The high quality fittings include a Boffi kitchen and B&B Italia furniture. Some of our extensive modern art collection is on display (it's personal taste!)

The villa is also equipped with television, 2 IPhone/IPod docks and WiFi connection.

There is a Weber gas BBQ and various garden, pool and indoor games, along with a selection of books.

A weekly cleaning and laundry service, gardener and pool cleaner are provided and included in the rental charge.

Valbonne is an extremely convenient place from which to explore the beauty of the south of France and all that it has to offer. Whether it’s strolling along the sea, going on leisurely treks, shopping, enjoying the wide range of wonderful local food or dining at a Michelin starred restaurant.

Valbonne itself is the quintessential Provencal village - cobbled stones streets and a traffic free square, with a good selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. The more modern side of Valbonne has an outstanding fruit and vegetable store, delicatessen, a decent butcher and of course a couple of patisseries (also, a newsagent which stocks an array of foreign newspapers). More extensive supermarket shopping is available at Carrefour in Opio (approx 15 mins drive) and there is a huge Carrefour en route to the villa from the airport near exit 44 (off the A8).

There are wonderful walks in the immediate vicinity through shaded woods, fantastic golf courses nearby, as well as beaches and mountains within a 20 - 30 minute drive.

We were in desperate need for a retreat from our hectic London life and this villa has delivered in spades. With a love of modern architecture, it was fortuitous that we came across this property. Designed and built by an architect as his own home, It is light and spacious with open views allowing one to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the location. It is an unusual property for the region, which characteristically has more traditional villas. Friends comment that it would be readily found somewhere like Big Sur in California. It has light, space and even plenty of wall space to hang our steadily growing (if somewhat unique!) art collection. It has always offered us, as well as friends and guests, a sense of peace and renewal.

Looking for a peaceful getaway from our hectic lives, we stumbled across this amazing house, nestled in the hills adjacent to national forest, above the village of Valbonne.

The location is perfect: Valbonne is a picturesque village full of wonderful fresh food shops as well as a "must go to" Friday morning market and great restaurants. Only 25 minutes drive from Nice airport, very close to golf courses and the sea is only 15 minutes away.

Superb house with a great outdoor space for relaxing and eating.

From our very first contact with Julia and Stephen we just knew everything was going to be good about our stay in Valbonne. On every occasion we contacted Julia and Stephen we always received a quick response and they were always very helpful.

The location of the house in a small private domain means the area is peaceful and from the terraces and pool you look out over the trees and valley, you also get the sunshine all day long although you can always find shade when it gets a little too warm. The design of the house is perfect for outdoor living and eating. The kitchen is well equipped with every gadget and utensil you will ever require and the

The bedrooms are all spacious and the air conditioning works perfectly for a good nights cool sleep and all the bathrooms came with toiletries which was a very pleasant surprise.

A car is a must because the route to Valbonne is quite hilly and without a pavement at times although there are a couple of very good local taxi firms who will pick you up and bring you back home after dinner at a very reasonable cost.

We had a wonderful relaxing holiday and will most certainly look to stay here again without any hesitation.

Wonderful Holiday Home in Valbonne!

My family and I had a wonderful holiday at this beautiful home in Valbonne. The description and pictures are accurate. I was hesitant to book at first because the house is not yet reviewed, but Julia and Stephen, the homeowners, were very patient in answering all of my questions.

The house has a wonderful indoor/outdoor feel (exactly as depicted in the pictures). There is ample room for a large family to mingle (with separate seating areas for anyone wanting their own space to read or relax).

The kitchen was well stocked, the pool was great, and the owners were kind enough to leave a large welcome basket of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. Each bedroom had bathrobes and slippers, which was a nice touch.

The only issue we faced was with the guest bedrooms which did not have air conditioning. Some members of my family found it warm when sleeping at night. Fans are provided in all bedrooms, but we stayed during an exceptionally hot summer in the South of France, so perhaps our experience is not the norm (the master bedroom does have AC and is very comfortable).

Valbonne is a great base to explore the Cote d'Azur. There are lovely villages nearby, and of course, the main towns of Nice, Cannes, and Monte Carlo. The village of Valbonne is charming and has plenty of good restaurants. The house is about a 15min walk to the village, but there is one very steep area, so coming back up may be difficult for some. We used our car most of the time.

If you are considering renting a home in this region, it is a great house for a family holiday and a great region to spend a week in. We'd be happy to stay here again.

The village of Valbonne is everything you would imagine of a traditional French village from cobbled streets to the (car free) Provencal square with the requisite bars, cafes and restaurants. A great place to sip a glass of wine and watch the world go by...The more modern side of Vabonne has a terrific fruit and vegetable shop, delicatessen, butcher, news agent and pharmacy. The Friday morning market is fabulous (but can get crowded so go early!). Walking and hiking in the immediate area; a 20 minute mesmerising drive to the Gordon castle; Golf courses are abundant, including the Royal Mougin; The beeches, shopping and buzz of Cannes, Nice, Antibes are all a must!
