Ideal location for exploring North Wales Coast line, Chester and Liverpool
About sandra White
Russell and I run an Eco company locally, we have lived in the area most of our lives and love this location.
sandra White purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why sandra White chose Holywell
Two years ago we saw Lilly Cottage as a derelict, unloved property, we fell in love with its character and saw the potential of this to become our weekend retreat! As a family we have worked hard on this property to realise our dream. Although we still use Lilly Cottage we believe that others can enjoy it and the surrounding area.
What makes this Cottage unique
This small but perfectly formed cottage has quaint exposed beams and inglenook fireplace with a log burning stove, which we have married together with modern technology. The old miners cottage now benefits from all the mod cons. Keep a look out for the free roaming sheep who like to take a wander down the road!

Just the tonic I needed
I loved this little cottage.. As soon as I walked through the door, I felt ' at home'. I wanted to use the open fire but forgot to bring a lighter or matches! It had everything i needed and i loved every moment spent there. Just sad to leave it. Thank you so much Sandra.. Hoping I'll be back soon.
Hi Mariea I’m glad you enjoyed your stay there are always matches in the basket sorry they must have dropped to the bottom
Cosy home from home
From the second you walk into this lovely little cottage to find the fire laid ready for you you know you are most welcome.
Beautifully appointed with fabulous attention to detail this property is a pleasure to stay in.
All mod cons but olde worlde charm make a lovely combination.
Would fully recommend and plan on staying again.
Oh and the welcome gifts are a lovely addition :D
Thank you for your lovely review I'm so please you loved the cottage and look forward to you visiting again
Cozy and comfortable!
Fantastic, clean and very homely. Everything we needed for a lovely stay
Vary clean cosy little cottage.
Absolutely lovely clean little cottage with couple of pubs about a mile either way that done lovely food. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is the road was far too busy for my liking otherwise everything was fine.
This is the best equipped place I have had the pleasure of staying at. The communication from the owner was first class. The cottage itself is so cosy and with the log burner lit it is so cosy and warm. The bedrooms and bathroom are also very comfortable with a TV in each bedroom. I would highly recommend to my friends and family. Thank you Sandra for a wonderful stay.
Thank you for your lovely review I hope you come to stay again soon.
Very cosy and well thought out modernisation of lovely old cottage
Comfortable cottage with parking outside on the roadside. Enjoyable stay and excellent for Chester, Liverpool or North Wales touring. Well furnished with quality beds and sofas. Modern kitchen area and lovely log burner. No hesitation in recommending to people who love a cosy cottage with character, but also like 21st century comfort as well. Instantly felt at home here and would rebook again whenever staying in the area.
Thank you please come back and stay in the winter when its lovely and cosy with the log burner
