'Riverstones': Well-equipped cottage close to Falmouth. Fast WiFi. Tennis, gym, splash pool, cafe-bar. Sandy beaches, gardens, golf and the SW coast path. No pets
Pendra Loweth is a village of purpose built and privately owned self-catering holiday cottages, set in a beautiful, peaceful and secluded valley leading down to Maenporth Beach. ‘Riverstones’ sits in a good position in the centre of the village, next to a gentle stream, and with easy parking.
Everything has been set up with comfort and convenience in mind. The kitchen was equipped by a cooking enthusiast, there’s a dishwasher and a washing machine, smart TV and DVD player, comfortable beds, bath with power shower and fluffy white towels…
There's free superfast fibre optic broadband and there's a hot water booster in the airing cupboard - so no worries about those things!
On site, the excellent cafe-bar plus the splash pool and jacuzzi are open Easter to October. Tennis courts and a gym are usable all year round.
With plenty to do indoors, on the site and out and about, Riverstones is sure to keep everyone happy. Try sailing, surfing, bodyboarding, tennis, golf, walking, cycling, bowling, crabbing, kayaking... Back onsite, the kids can skate, scoot, ride bikes, kick a ball, play in the shallow stream, the play area or the plunge pool... Then all can settle down to watch movies on the smart TV.
Nearby are the coastal footpaths and beaches at Maenporth and Swanpool, and the creeks and woodlands of north Helford. Falmouth itself is a classic Cornish town with a beautiful and famous harbour, plus the National Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle. Walk through the narrow streets, enjoy food and drink in the many cafés, restaurants and pubs, take a boat trip across the River Fal to St. Mawes or up the Truro River... At Bissoe, hire bikes (or take your own) for traffic free cycling through tin mine country, between Portreath village and beach on the north coast and the beautiful creek at Devoran on the south coast. And Riverstones is well placed for exploring the whole of Cornwall – the surfing beaches of the north coast, St. Ives, Land’s End and England’s southernmost point, The Lizard, are all about an hour’s drive.

About Janet Hosken
Hello. I'm Janet, married to Steve, living in Surrey and working from home as a market researcher. I do 'focus groups' on all sorts of things. We have two sons, aged 25 and 23. We started having family holidays in Cornwall when the boys were about 8 and 6. One time, we went shopping in Falmouth and returned having bought a pair of shoes and a house! Crazy. But we knew we'd be back time and again. The boys have grown up now - but we all still love our family holidays. And these days they come down with friends or girlfriends, to share and extend their love of Cornwall. Give it a try - I guarantee you will love it, too!
Janet Hosken purchased this Cottage in 2003
Why Janet Hosken chose Budock
We chose Pendra Loweth because we felt it gave the boys a bit of freedom, to go out and play without us having to watch their every move. And this area gives easy access to all parts of beautiful Cornwall. But whether we go off to explore the north coast or the far west, or simply stay local, we are STILL discovering gorgeous new places.
What makes this Cottage unique
Pendra Loweth means 'Village of Gardens' - and these are award-winning gardens, set in a south-facing landscaped valley, with a gorgeous stream running through. It is secluded, safe and peaceful. At night, the only sound is the stream - and maybe the owl. An unexpected benefit of Riverstones' open plan layout is that it brought us together. At home, we all seemed to be doing different things in different rooms. At Pendra, we spent the time together - playing board games, watching movies, playing tennis (badly) - or walking, cycling, exploring…

Great cottage near Falmouth
Nice modern cottage. Good location. Welcome pack and cottage features were a real plus. Onsite playground for kids.
Only downside for us was that we found the bed uncomfortable; a bit too soft.
Very nice cottage
We enjoyed our stay. Clean, short distance to Falmouth town and local beaches.
Lovely home from home
Lovely house which made a great base for our holiday. Great music and movie collection. The village was really fun for the kids with lots to explore. Parking space right outside the cottage.
Perfect place to stay
Lovely holiday home, clean and well equipped. Nice quiet area handy for all amenities.
Fantastic cottage great location had everything we needed and more.
Lovely cottage clean and modern with everything you would need for a family holiday. Great location to in lovely surroundings.
Charming Cornish Cottage
The cottage was exceptional, as was the surrounding area. Well appointed and well kept. The perfect place from which to explore the beauties of Cornwell. The only negative was the bath could do with some form of anti-slip to make using the shower safer. A very small negative in a bucket load of positives.
Special interest holidays:
Walking the south west coast path has to be one of Cornwall's best attractions. Over the cliffs, down into the coves, rock pools and caves, and back up the cliffs, spotting seals in the water... whether the sea is blue and calm or grey and wild, the views are stunning.
Sandy beaches at Maenporth, Swanpool and Falmouth are all 5 minutes by car and walkable. All with super beach cafés. Try the ice creams at Swanpool.
But also explore the north coast surfing beaches and gorgeous coves all around Cornwall.
Nearest airport is Newquay, 40 mins, Exeter airport 2 hours.
