About Mandy Katz
Hello - we are the Katz Family We have been coming to Devon and specifically the South Hams since forever and have fallen hopelessly in love with this unspoilt, beautiful corner of England. We spend our time on the stunning beaches at Bantham, South Milton, Torcross (just a 4 minute walk from the house) and many others and the River Dart - paddle-boarding, canoeing, surfing, swimming and fishing. We meet our friends at many of the historic local pubs enjoying a pint and real fish and chips - the way its supposed to be! Then of course there's the doing nothing time - sitting on our huge deck looking out at the breathtaking 180 degree views of the sea and the lake right in front of the house. Once you've been here - your hooked forever and you'll just keep coming back.
Mandy Katz purchased this House in 2010
Why Mandy Katz chose Torcross
THis house is perfect as it sits in the centre of all the South Hams has to offer. Its on the main route between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth yet set in its own private grounds with views over the whole of Salton Sands and the Lake (Slapton Ley) You can walk, cycle or drive to beaches, pubs, shops. The locals are friendly and welcoming and the area is famous for its long and rich history.
What makes this House unique
Very few houses have a view like this one and the open space to entertain and enjoy being with friends and family. Everything is on the door step or nearby and the beach and seafront being less than 5 minutes walk make it a sensational place to stay.

Bayfield an amazing retreat
Our week holiday at Bayfield house couldn’t have been any better. The views were amazing and there was plenty of room for the 9 of us and our 2 dogs who loved Torcross beech. We would definitely recommend this house and we would love to return in the future.
We had an amazing stay. The house was absolutely beautiful, with literally everything you would need. We had lovely weather and spent a lot of time on the balcony taking in the view which was stunning. Perfect location for coastal walks and fab food! We can’t wait to return.
Amazing house, the perfect family holiday
This beautiful house was the catalyst for one of our best family holidays ever. The light and spacious open-plan area made it the perfect space for different generations to be around each other yet relaxing in different ways without invading each others’ space. One person might read quietly on a squishy sofa, another enjoyed the ever-changing light on the water while the more social ones played board games in front of the cozy wood burner or made pizza together around the island. It’s a great base for all sorts of daytrips - and with parking for more than one car, we would head out according to age and interest to petting farms, national trust properties, boat trips and hikes. But we would all want to make sure we spent a good few hours in this special home from home every day! 😊
Wonderfull house , perfect location , very comfortable .
Baring in mind that we had bad weather , the house was bright , airy and homely .
Our expectations were just blown away...
The house was fantastic the views were stunning and the pictures just don't do it justice.
Such a peaceful spot and an idillic location we had a wonderful time

The South Hams is an area crammed full of great pubs - seaside fish shacks, fine dining restaurants, cafe's for cream teas, beaches ( a full listing of all local hostelries etc is available in the house when you arrive)
The local pub on the beach - The Start Bay Inn is a real thatched roof destination pub with fantastic fish and chips and sea food.
There is a local village store for papers, sweets, ice creams and the Stokely Barton farm shop which is less than a 5 minute walk is where you can buy fabulous meat from the resident butchers -all your grocery needs and they also serve hot meals (it's the nearest latte should you need it!).
