Peter & Tina Hunt
About Peter & Tina Hunt
Tina and Peter Hunt live near Bromsgrove in Worcestershire. We are both retired - Peter works as a Volunteer Lock-keeper on the Droitwich Canal, and Tina volunteers at a small theatre in Droitwich. We visit North Cyprus twice each year - early season, to ensure that everything is ready for our guests, and late season, to talk to our Property Managers and Pool Maintenance company about plans for the next year. We also take the opportunity to assess all fixtures and fittings, and to renew where necessary.
Peter & Tina Hunt purchased this Villa in 2004
Why Peter & Tina Hunt chose Ozankoy
We bought Villa Manzara in 2004 when we visited on holiday and fell in love with the people, the mountains, the unspoilt beaches and the amazing amount of history to be found on the island. Our villa is in the foothills of the Five Finger mountains in a quiet residential area which is a mere 5 minutes drive from the centre of Bellapais, where Gerald Durrell wrote his 'Bitter Lemons' book, in the bar across the road from the famous and picturesque 11th century Abbey. Also nearby is St Hilarion Castle, and a little further afield two further castles - Buffavento and Kantara - can be found.
What makes this Villa unique
We have a 8m x 4m private pool, surrounded by a large patio area with purpose-built Barbeque and prep table, dining table and chairs, sunbeds and parasols. Previous guests have commented that they lack for nothing - inside or outside the villa. Our English Manager - Gemma, from Pebbles Property Management - is always happy to help and advise when needed. Villa Manzara is ideally situated for easy access to Kyrenia (Girne), with its many restaurants and wonderful harbour, and a castle which proudly displays a ship which was wrecked over 2,300 years ago.

A great Villa and a great holiday
The villa was so well equipped, the owners thought of everything. It was in a beautiful peaceful location with perfect mountain views from the rear and great sea views from the front. The swimming pool was a good size to enable swimming. The rooms were very comfortable. I have been to many villas and I would say that this one was the best. The restaurants are within a 5 to 10 minute drive, some of them you could easily walk to.
I would highly recommend this villa to anyone who wants a peaceful holiday in a great location and only a 10 minute drive from the main shops. Bellapais Abbey is only a 25 minute walk away, or 5 mins in the car and is a beautiful place with plenty to do and see.
Many thanks for your kind words. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Villa Manzara.
One of the best Villas we've stayed in!
We arrived at Villa Manzara in the dark, lights where left on in the main downstairs areas giving a magical feel. The villa is large and airy with marble floors; the temperature for April was high but inside the rooms stayed cool. All the bedrooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. The garden area was a delight and sitting on the front balcony for breakfast was a treat overlooking the well maintained front garden. From the upper story you could see the sea. There is a lovely pool to the rear with lots of shade if you need it. Facilities are well labeled and there was plenty of information, including maps etc for you to browse through. It was very clean and well maintained, the manager rang us the first day and a mobile phone was left, for our use so we could contact her if we needed to. There is a lovely winding road up to the Abbey at Bellapais which is well worth the drive. The only down side was that the local beach was closed and it had been turned into a building site but we were advised to try the Acapolco Hotel and Spa Resort which offered a beach for use by the public in general and was well worth going to; a little further on was Turtle Beach where the turtles come to lay their eggs - these are about 15 minutes drive away. We can recommend the food at Erols which is excellent, as is the food at Five Fingers, for a lunch time snack try the Tropicano but be warned it is used by ex-pats, and Happy Valley on the main road. Go for a morning coffee to Zerha's, if you're lucky she may sing to you, if you want an authentic N.Cyprus meal book into Zerha's she only cooks to order. If you are vegetarian I'm afraid the menus are very restricted and meanly cheese based. It is also worth drive to see the mosaics at Soli and the castle ruins further on. Villa Manzara deserves a five plus star rating! Thank you Peter and Tina.
Many thanks for your kind words - we are really pleased that you enjoyed your visit to Villa Manzara, and hope to welcome you back soon!
We stayed at Villa Manzara for one week. The place is absolutely stunning. The views are lovely and the place is so relaxing. The Property was clean and excellently maintained and the owners had thought of everything even down to cling film to wrap food in. We had one problem with water which the Manager sorted that day. I have already recommended this Property to friends and will continue to do so.
Many thanks - we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay, and hope to welcome you again.
Very well fitted out villa
Had a delightful stay at villa Manzara. Every facility you could wish for was provided. We had a problem with the tv and this was sorted out immediately with the management company and owners. I would recommend this property to anyone. The temperature during our stay was really high so the swimming pool was wonderful. We wouldn't hesitate to visit this villa again
Many thanks for your kind words - we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your visit to our villa, and hope to welcome you back soon.
Luxury villa in a perfect setting
My wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful holiday in warm sunshine at Villa Manzara. The villa is beautiful with an attractive garden and floodlit pool. We had breakfast on one of the three patiosor balconies each morning and thoroughly enjoyed a sunbathe followed by a dip in our private pool. There is a village a mile away with excellent restaurants and the attractive town of Kyrenia with its beautiful harbour castle and restaurants is a must to visit along with Bellapais village in the mountains above the villa.
We were not disappointed as the villa far exceeded are expectations and nether will anyone else who visits this superb villa with all the amenities you could possibly want.
A Superb Luxury Villa in a Stunning Location
Our first holiday in Cyprus and it exceeded all expectations. Villa Manzara is fantastic; our initial reaction on arriving was Wow! The setting is beautiful, with amazing vistas from the various balconies and windows.
The Villa has every possible amenity you could need, excellently maintained and equipped. The pool was absolutely perfect, and a welcome relief from the 90F heat. With several outside areas to sit and eat or enjoy the shade of one of the Olive trees, this luxury Villa is truly exceptional.
A midnight swim under the stars was great fun.
A short drive to some excellent restaurants: Bella Moon, Courtyard Inn, Errol’s & the town with its many shops made this the perfect holiday. For a delicious treat try Yogolatte, or Cacao.
Tina and Peter made everything so easy with airport transfers and car hire all arranged seamlessly.
It’s such a peaceful, relaxing location; we just did not want to leave. We will certainly return.
A wide selection of beaches, both manicured and natural, are within 20 minutes drive of Villa Manzara.
Our nearest airport is Ercan, about 30 minutes away. You can also fly to Larnaca in the South and we can arrange transfers from both airports. A car is essential - we recommend a local, family-run company who offer a discount to our guests, but you are free to arrange your own car and transfers.
Bellapais village with the famous abbey and several excellent restaurants, is 5 minutes drive up the mountain. Many of the restaurants will provide free taxi pick-up and return for customers.
Going down towards the sea, Ozankoy village, with a mini-market and some good bars and restaurants, is 5 minutes drive.
10 minutes drive will bring you to a petrol station and two excellent supermarkets, just before reaching Kyrenia and nearby beaches. Kyrenia has a wonderful old harbour by the castle
