Halfway Along cottage is a Grade II listed cottage which is situated in the old fishermans and conservation area known as Downalong in St Ives.

The cottage has been tastefully restored in 2015 to make it a comfortable holiday cottage but also has retained some of it's original features. It is approached by 5 granite steps which lead up into the kitchen/dining area. The benefit of this is that it ensures the privacy of guests from the many passers-by that wander along The Digey marvelling at the outlook and taking photographs. It has cushioned window seats in the kitchen and main bedroom which are a great vantage point for relaxing with a cup of coffee/ glass of wine and watching the world go by. Downalong is the oldest area of St Ives consisting of a labyrinth of cobbled streets - many of which lead to the harbour and the beaches. Halfaway Along is ideally positioned within this historic area and is a 2 minute level walk away from the beaches, harbour, shops, galleries and walks along the glorious coastline. A newly fitted gas central heating system makes it very comfortable for all year round breaks away.

Why Lesley & Andy chose St Ives area

We live in Bedfordshire and have enjoyed holidays in St Ives for the past 30 years. We had the opportunity to buy somewhere in Downalong in 2013 and took the chance to buy the cottage that needed total refurbishment. It is in a great location and you can easily walk to many of the surrounding attractions of St Ives. We spent over a year renovating and equipping the cottage to a standard that we would expect when taking a self-catering holiday. It is the perfect setting to simply park the car for the week and enjoy time walking, on the beach, boating, fishing, people watching, shopping and eating in some of the fantastic restaurants. We never tire of returning to St Ives and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

A beautifully appointed cottage in a great location.

As a family of four we had a lovely week in HalfWayAlong. We parked the car in one of the local car parks and didn't touch it for the whole stay. Great central location with easy access to beaches, walks and shops.

The cottage was very well equipped with fresh decor and very clean.

The stairs were our only issue with quite a few bumped heads coming in and out the front door especially!

A lovely relaxing break.

Centrally located in a quiet street, No 14 is perfect for a stay in St Ives.

The cottage lived up to the description and images on the site. Lesley, the owner, was prompt in her replies and helpful with information. Clean, warm and excellently located, everything is either seconds or minutes to walk to. A good bakery and deli/cafe at one end of the street and a tea shop and Porthmeor Beach at the other. The Tate, many shops and lots of galleries all to hand. Lovely fresh fish & fruit & veg with friendly service from Trim in Tregenna Street. Particularly good food was on offer at The Tearoom St Ives on the harbour - about 3 minutes walk.

Wow! What an amazing holiday destination and beautiful cottage!

I have never been to St Ives but my partner has and he assured me I would fall in love with the place and he was right! St Ives is just beautiful and halfway along made our stay just perfect. It's situated in the best location, it's a stones throw away from everything. Les and Andy have really made it feel like a home away from home and we looked forward to going back to the cottage each day. We will definitely be returning next year and have in fact already booked! Thank you Les and Andy for creating such a beautiful cottage in the most perfect of places and allowing us to share it with you.

truly idyllic fishermans cottage!

On arrival travelling down a very narrow cobbled street to find the blue door of this very nice cottage.

This was exactly what we had in mind and was hoping for (and more). Cleanliness is one of the most imprtant Things for us and this was absolutely spotless.

The broom in the ktichen comes in very handy and you bring home a lot of sand from the Beach every day.

We love the little narrow streets and uniq shops.of St. Ives and would love to come back another time.

For us this cottage offered everything we needed with a nice ktichen, beautiful "hidden" lounge and for the kids an extra special loft bedroom.

We would highly recommend this to anyone.

Beautiful, home away from home!

We had the best holiday in St Ives thanks to our incredible base, a gorgeous holiday cottage in a idyllic location. Beautiful modern decor throughout yet still very cosy and a fabulous beach theme! All of the rooms were spacious and well laid out, and the beds were super comfy..(Always a plus when away from home!)

Location was perfect, tucked away enough for privacy, yet only a minute away from the beach front and the main shopping street. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

The only downside was having to come home!
