The cottage was tastefully restored in 2015 to make it a comfortable holiday cottage but also has retained some of it's original features. It has been carefully maintained and looked after since the restoration. It is approached by 5 granite steps which lead up into the kitchen/dining area. The benefit of this is that it ensures the privacy of guests from the many passers-by that wander along The Digey marvelling at the outlook and taking photographs. It has cushioned window seats in the kitchen and main bedroom which are a great vantage point for relaxing with a cup of coffee/ glass of wine and watching the world go by. Downalong is the oldest area of St Ives consisting of a labyrinth of cobbled streets - many of which lead to the harbour and the beaches. Halfaway Along is ideally positioned within this historic area and is a 2 minute level walk away from the beaches, harbour, shops, galleries and walks along the glorious coastline. A newly fitted gas central heating system makes it very comfortable for all year round breaks away.

Why Lesley & Andy chose St Ives
We live in Bedfordshire and have enjoyed holidays in St Ives for the past 30 years. We had the opportunity to buy somewhere in Downalong in 2013 and took the chance to buy the cottage that needed total refurbishment. It is in a great location and you can easily walk to many of the surrounding attractions of St Ives. We spent over a year renovating and equipping the cottage to a standard that we would expect when taking a self-catering holiday. It is the perfect setting to simply park the car for the week and enjoy time walking, on the beach, boating, fishing, people watching, shopping and eating in some of the fantastic restaurants. We never tire of returning to St Ives and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Lovely character cottage in the heart of St Ives
Great location and communication, highly recommend
Thank you Rianne ,
We are very pleased that you enjoyed the cottage & you would be welcome back any time ..
Perfect Location - Little Gem of a Cottage
Immaculately clean and well presented and a few yards from everything St Ives has to offer. Whilst it is compact for a family it is has everything you need for a great break away. The property is very well maintained with quality appliances and fixtures and fittings even though we went out for Breakfast and Dinner during our short holiday as there is an excellent Deli about 30 meters away and plenty of restaurants for all budgets to choose from. If you are looking for a bolt hole with character and yet a few steps from the main town then I would certainly recommend this cottage. Long stay parking is the only issue that affects the whole of St Ives, but once parked you can walk to the cottage in a few minutes and then sit back and relax.
Thank you for your review Jeremy - I'm very pleased you enjoyed your stay and you'd be welcome back any time.
Halfway Along is a well positioned cottage in the heart of St Ives.
We have returned to Halfway Along (third time) this year. We love the position of the cottage - access to beaches, shops and harbour are perfect. The cottage itself is clean and well equipped - everything there to make a holiday perfect.
So pleased you have returned to Halfway Along and enjoyed your stay! Thank you.
A beautifully presented and perfectly located cottage, just wonderful.
The cottage is situated in the centre of St Ives, seconds walk from Fore Street which had a wide selection of shops, cafes n bakeries. We parked the car at The Island and only moved it once during the week so a true get away from it all holiday. We loved the coastal walks and dropping in for the odd refreshment on the way. The cottage was over 4 levels, my husband particularly liked his den as he called it in the basement. The kitchen was carefully set out and contained everything that we needed, we made many of our meals and there was all the equipment we needed and enjoyed socialising around the table. However, I did miss not having a freezer for my ice for my gnt. The shower was fabulous and powerful. The main bedroom in addition to the kitchen had a lovely window seat to watch the world go by often without by/passers knowing. My teenagers loved the attic, again very well thought out with lamps for each bed and plenty of storage. A fabulous cottage central but peaceful and restful. A wonderful cottage cute as my teenagers stated n quirky, just lovely.
Thanks for your great review Karen - we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay.
A beautifully appointed cottage in a great location.
As a family of four we had a lovely week in HalfWayAlong. We parked the car in one of the local car parks and didn't touch it for the whole stay. Great central location with easy access to beaches, walks and shops.
The cottage was very well equipped with fresh decor and very clean.
The stairs were our only issue with quite a few bumped heads coming in and out the front door especially!
A lovely relaxing break.
Centrally located in a quiet street, No 14 is perfect for a stay in St Ives.
The cottage lived up to the description and images on the site. Lesley, the owner, was prompt in her replies and helpful with information. Clean, warm and excellently located, everything is either seconds or minutes to walk to. A good bakery and deli/cafe at one end of the street and a tea shop and Porthmeor Beach at the other. The Tate, many shops and lots of galleries all to hand. Lovely fresh fish & fruit & veg with friendly service from Trim in Tregenna Street. Particularly good food was on offer at The Tearoom St Ives on the harbour - about 3 minutes walk.
Thank you for your review Sarah - I'm really pleased you enjoyed the cottage and had a good holiday.
