We are a family with two young Children and over the past 5 years we have enjoyed fantastic holidays on the Island. Chantries is now our holiday home and we want to extend a genuine "home from home" feeling to our guests. The house has all the modern conveniences you would expect, including free WIFI, but it is also equipped with the basics such as teabags, coffee, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. There are toys, games, books and DVDs which are freely available for you to use too.

We love all that the Island has to offer. It is like a collection of all the best bits of the UK ranging from the diverse coastline of cliffs, rock pools and surf beaches to vantage points high up in the Downs overlooking Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With the highest sunshine figures in the UK, the experience of spending time on the Island is memorable borne out by Lonely Planet declaring that the Isle of Wight is the best place to cycle in the world!! We viewed Chantries on a January afternoon and were struck with how light and bright all the rooms felt. The previous owner renovated the property retaining the property's original character and charm and we fell in love with it instantly. The house accommodates 6 people easily with a large generous open plan kitchen / dining room, sitting room with views to the garden and all the 3 bedrooms are of a good size. The property sits on a corner plot and the garden feels private and secure - the perfect antidote to busy urban life!
What makes this House unique
Chantries is ideally located. At the end of the Lane is a parade of shops were you can get a fresh loaf of bread and a pink of milk and a stone throw from the newly opened Spinnaker Pub. It is close to the beach (7 min walk), the village (15 min walk) and well positioned to explore all the rest the Island has to offer. The property is located off a quiet unmade road which immediately gives you sense of peace and quiet yet within close to all the amenities that Bembridge has to offer. Bembridge is a village with a real heart that beats all year round with a varied range of shops and restaurants. This makes it an ideal place to visit both in and out of the holiday season.

Lovely property in a great location
Very comfortable, ideally placed. Everything you need for a great holiday.
We have stayed at Chantries many times. We keep going back because it has everything we want and need. A beautiful house, clean, modern in a wonderful location. Recent installation of the bifold doors in the sitting room make the house cool in the summer, we were cool and comfortable, even at night, during this yeara heatwave. It is close to the beach at The Duver (St Helens) and walking distance to the beach and shops at Bembridge. We will definitly be returning to Chantries.
Excellent great home and location
Arrival and departure all went well. Countries home is just beautiful with great facilities and garden to relax. Location good as you can walk to shops restaurants and beach.

Beautiful house, fantastic location.
We have had a wonderful stay at the ‘Chantries’. The house is beautiful, light, spacious and home from home. There is everything you need for a family to stay. We really enjoyed the sunny evenings in the garden and our little boy loved the swing and the summer house. The delicious cakes that were left for us were a welcome treat, which only lasted a few hours!!!! The house was spotlessly clean with beautiful bed linen.
Bembridge is a lovely place to stay, with a small co-op just round the corner for everything you may need. It’s a great base for exploring the island of which is just beautiful.

Tasteful, comfortable and bright
Chantries is probably the best holiday property we’ve stayed in.
The house is absolutely beautiful - the 1920-30’s house has been beautifully restored and tastefully and comfortably furnished. The house is airy and bright with large, comfortable rooms - there is enough space for a family on a rainy day!
The house had everything we needed for a week on the island (and a few luxuries too!).
Our five year old loved the pretty playhouse in the garden and being able to run on the lawn.
The kitchen is well equipped and well laid out. The dining table gives a great view to the garden.
The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms offered enough storage.
The separate shower and bathrooms were both a good size.
Chris, who looks after the house, is extremely friendly and quick to resolve any questions.

The pretty beach at Bembridge Life Boat Station (Lane End) is approx. 7 minute walk away and provides access to wonderful walk around the headland at Bembridge.
The "wilder" beach at Forelands is 10 minutes walk away. Bembridge Harbour is also 10-15 minutes walk away.
Sandown with its sandy beach, pier and coastal resort attractions is approximately a 10 minute drive away.
Fishbourne ferry terminal approximately 20 minute drive from the house
East Cowes ferry terminal approximately 35 minutes drive the house
Ryde Pier Head for Fast Cat services from Portsmouth Harbour approximately 20 minutes drive from the house.
A local parade of shops including a very well stocked Co-op, Post Office and delicatessen is 2-3 minutes walk from Chantries. A wider range of shops including a butchers, bakery, florists, cafes, Boots Pharmacy is less than a 15 minute walk away in the heart of Bembridge village.
There are 2 pubs within 10 minutes walking distance of Chantries as well as an Indian restaurant and 2 cafes on nearby beaches.
The island has a lot to offer for different ages and interests. For children, apart from the numerous beaches, there is plenty to offer when the British weather is less kind including Blackgang Chine, Dinosaur Isle, Robin Hill Adventure Park (see. www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk).
It is also a beautiful area for walking, cycling, water sports and birdwatching at the nearby RSPB owned marshes. Popular attractions on the Island include Osborne House, Carisbrooke Castle, Quarr Abbey, Culver Down and the Classic Boat Museum.
