We purchased Les Lavandes in 2003 & since then the house & gardens have been totally renovated to a high standard.
We spend large parts of the year at the house enjoying all the area has to offer.
Craig Grieve purchased this villa in 2003
We bought this house because we love Provence & the Côte d'Azur. Fabulous summer weather, great scenery, lovely villages with a special ambiance.
We are still discovering new things after 12 years of owning the house.
Convenient for the Coast at St Maxime, Frejus & St Raphael.
Catch the small boat across to St Tropez to avoid the summer traffic or just laze around the heated pool.
The week has been amazing & the house spectacular. S & J. -June 2014.
We have had a fantastic holiday in your lovely house, we will be back. W J, Edinburgh. - July 2014.
A splendid week in a splendid villa, so much more to do! So little time! M W, Buckinghamshire. - September 2014.
Had a great time at this fabulous holiday home. The kitchen is particularly well equipped and the upstairs balcony with choice of bbqs made outside dining a pleasure. We really enjoyed the outside pool and sun loungers. There were many pretty villages to visit in the surrounding area. Would thoroughly recommend.
Les Lavandes is a beautiful property in a quiet secluded location, ideal for relaxing around the pool and on the balcony.
Unfortunately upon arrival, we were informed that the television did not work and the Sky box had been removed. Although we did not intend to spend our time at Les Lavandes watching television, we had booked this property a year in advance with the expectation of being able to watch the Euro Finals.
We had also been told that the nearest restaurant was 2 km away, which would have been a pleasant 20 min walk, but be aware, it is 2 miles and a 45 minute walk, either along a very busy road or an unlit back road. This meant that we could not walk into Flayosc for our evening meals and a drink and had we known this, as lovely as the property is, we would not have booked to stay here.
Les Lavandes is set along a quiet lane in a rural area, there are only 2 other properties nearby and it is very secluded and private. It has a lovely terrace on the upper floor, with great views over the pool, the valley and hills beyond, nice for breakfast or dinner we found. The good sized pool (nice temperature) is surrounded by a large sunbathing area and gardens beyond. The pool gets the sun from 11am through to the evening, perfect if you a having a day "staying in". We stayed as a family of 4 - 2 adults + 3 year old + a 5 year old, and as long as the children are OK sharing a room, we found it a nice size for a family, and really good value. It is really well presented and maintained (nice bathroom!), and everything worked perfectly. The location is good - 45 minutes from a good family (sandy) beach at Frejus (or you can get to beaches all along the Cote d'Azur as far Nice and Monaco in 60 - 90 minutes if you want to explore) but also far enough inland that you are away from the hubbub and are near to Provencale villages (we liked Tourtours particularly, only 10 minutes away). Also, you are only around an hour away from the Gorge du Verdon and Moustieres - both really good spots, especially kayaking in the Gorge which was the highlight for the boys! The owner Craig was very helpful and professional before, during and after our visit, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending his villa, we loved it.
This was a beautiful villa, surrounded by trees and gardens. The pool was perfect - clean, secluded, not too deep. We have never stayed anywhere so well-equipped; the kitchen was a cook's delight.
If you arrive, as we did, late at night, bring a torch. There are no streetlights and you need to find the keys.
We'd recommend this villa to anyone. It was wonderful.
The property is superbly well equipped with every convenience required to make your stay a truly relaxing one. As our holiday was in the summer the 3 air conditioning units as well as the wonderful pool were well utilised! We found the property clean and in excellent condition the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped for cooking a welcoming bottle of wine was a lovely touch too. 2 barbeques (one gas and one traditional bbq coal) were clean and ready for use. We found the locals friendly and there is a great deal in the local area to explore especially the local markets and villages. The owners have ensured a great welcome and the villa is looked after well by a local English guy who is really knowledgeable on the area. We particularly enjoyed the restaurants in Flayosc and Tourtour, and the many lively markets, in truth we could and should have stayed much longer than a week to really appreciate everything on offer here. I would recommend Les Lavandes to anyone looking for a high quality villa in this beautiful area of Provence. We will certainly be back.
This is a lovely place to stay. It is in a great location and it is equipped with more than anyone could need. The pool is fantastic and the terrace areas are ideal. We had a great time and will definitely consider visiting again.
