The cottage is situated in the tiny hamlet of Blendworth in the South Downs National Park, between Horndean and Rowlands Castle. It is newly restored and fully equipped for self-catering. The vaulted living spaces gives it a stunning wow factor! We leave a hamper of basics and fresh flowers to welcome our guests and get them started. It has its own terrace with fragrant herb-filled raised borders.and faces a charming sunny courtyard with a walnut tree and a vine-clad pergola with a large table and chairs for alfresco dining. There is spectacular walking on the South Downs Way and some of the best cycling on and off road straight off the doorstep! Extensive gardens and a private tennis court available by arrangement sieth the owners.

About Sally Lang
Sally and Richard have lived in the farmhouse for nearly 30 years. We converted this old farm building into an enchanting holiday cottage two years ago. Since then we have had 5 star reviews from everyone who has stayed here. We look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful part of Hampshire so you can discover for yourself how wonderful it is!
Sally Lang purchased this Cottage in 1986
Why Sally Lang chose Horndean
We love this tranquil rural location. It is near the coast and yet so close to Chichester, Portsmouth, Winchester, Petersfield and all the sporting and cultural activities that take place in this part of the country. There is masses to see and do for all tastes! We are only an hour from London, so ideal for a long weekend break.
What makes this Cottage unique
You could spend a cosy winter weekend walking and curled up reading by the fire, or in the summer you could explore local beaches and try watersports. You could play golf at one of half a dozen spectacular courses. There is fabulous scenery and walking on the South Downs Way. There are some of the most beautiful cycle routes on and off road right from our doorstep. You could bring your paints and find some stunning subject matter in the landscape, or you could go birdwatching in Pagham. You could check out the local historical sites, or visit modern art galleries and sculpture parks in Chichester and Winchester. There is so much to do locally, that it is difficult to list it all here. We have created a 'house book' which is full of ideas of places to go, and things to do. There are lots of local pubs and restaurants if you don't want to cook!

Beautiful, well kept cottage in a stunning part of the UK. Highly recommended it.
It was really lovely to see you all again Michelle. You brought beautiful weather with you! Look forward to the next time. Best wishes to you all. Sally
Excellent cottage in a good location with nice hosts. They even arranged the weather!
We absolutely recommend "Lavender Cottage"! A spacy and modern rebuilt house which offers everything you need. Furnished and decorated with love. Many lovely places to relax. Sally and her husband are splendid hosts (the welcome hamper was really great). Our expectations were exceeded. We'll surely come again.
What a delight
Our stay at Lavender Cottage was delightful. Richard and Sally have created a lovely cottage with all the comforts, plus more. The basket of goodies and the food in the fridge to get us started were much appreciated.
I left England 12 years ago after having lived there for 16 years. It was so nice to be able to entertain family and friends on this visit. The grandkids loved the back garden. Lavender Cottage is a “home away from home” for us and we hope to stay there every time we visit England.
Thanks again Sally and Richard
Thank you so much Mary. It was equally delightful to host you and Steve here! And we look forward to your next visit to the UK. Take care! All the best from us both.
Great cottage in a fabulous location to explore. Friendly and helpful hosts, could not have wished for better :)
a must stay in a lovely peaceful cottage
we were warmly welcomed into the cottage our host were the sweetest people ever. I highly recommend this cottage but if traveling from the USA please bring a Europe maps addition to your GPS as the cottage is not easy to find but well worth the stay. our gps took us right to it with no issues and well worth the Europe map update. nice peaceful town not far away and great grocery store within 8 mins away. we spend time at the Portsmouth dockyard and that was about 30 mins away. can't say enough about the cottage extremely clean and fresh. beds very comfortable
Thanks so much for such a great review! We're so pleased you had such a great trip. We hope to welcome you back here next time you visit the UK.
With very best wishes to you all.
Coast/Beach: Wonderful south coast beaches. Hayling Island, West and East Wittering and Southsea, all within half an hour. Also bird-watching at Pagham. Travel: Southampton Airport is about 25 minutes. Gatwick an hour and a quarter. Heathrow about the same. A car is essential. Distances: We are situated in the South Downs National Park. Portsmouth is about 20 minutes driving, Chichester about 20 minutes, Petersfield 15 minutes. Winchester 35 minutes, Southampton half an hour. Further Details: There are local shops and a large Morrisons supermarket in Horndean about 2 miles away. There are numerous country pubs in the area. Petersfield has a monthly farmers market. We are in an ideal location for walking, rambling or cycling. There is plenty of parking space, and space to store bicycles. We can provide tennis racquets and balls, croquet and badminton.
