'Down the gravel path'
Delightful cozy cottage attached to the owner's main residence yet with a feeling of independence due to it's clever design. We loved this well equipped accomodation, warm and very peaceful yet only a stones throw away from the village stores and amenities. The name 'Railway Cottage' is very apt, the local train line passes just a few yards from the rear of the cottage which to us just added extra excitement to our stay, no noise disturbance to speak of. A small but secluded garden gave us a chance to relax and enjoy the view of Garth Hill.
Owner Robert was on holiday during our stay however he messaged before and during our visit, (even suggesting we help ourselves to plums from the tree in the cottage garden) to make sure we were happy and comfortable. On his return home he popped to see us putting us first after a very long drive, well above the call of duty! A genuine kind gentleman.
The cottage is very well situated for transport into Cardiff both by bus and by train (we did both) and for trips to the Brecons and surrounding area. Taffs Well has plenty of local walks and is a beautifully kept village, the park is a credit to those who look after it.
Many thanks Robert for allowing us to share your paradise for a few days and hopefully we will be able to stay again next time we plan to visit our friends.
Lovely little cottage
Very impressive little cottage and very clean. Lovely people.
Beautiful stay in a friendly and convient place
We had the most wonderful four night stay in the property. It was super cosy and had everything we needed. So many walks from the doorstep, easy journey to Cardiff and close to the breacons for a quick couple of hikes round the reservoir and pen y fan. We went to the local pub for their quiz and we were welcomed by everyone. Would go back in a heart beat.
Cute comfortable cottage, lovely host. Well located easy journey to into Cardiff and local food recommendations, excellent . Very good value highly recommended
