A lovely seaside stay at Belvedere
Our family group had a lovely few days here. The property is luxurious and has amazing views. The location and proximity to the beaches suited us very well and Andrea was extremely helpful at all times.
We had a fantastic week in Mortehoe and the house had just about everything covered. The excellent Weather helped but opening the bi fold doors made the view from the sitting room even better. Very well stocked house, lots of bbq charcoal which was nice. Comfortable beds were excellent and the hot tub a nice addition. Lovely walks from the house to the lighthouse and around Morte point. We saw 9 seals swimming and sunbathing on the rocks. The campsite or village shop are a few mins walk and we are at the Chichester arms and Miss Feas which were both excellent. The takeaway in the village was also very good. A short 5 min plus drive to Woolacombe beach for surfing and body boarding and Croyde and baggy point walk not too far away. All in all everything was 5 star and the only possible extra would be some more comfortable outdoor style seating for taking in the view. We borrowed one of the 2 benches from the front of the house for our stay. Thank you for a lovely holiday home.
It helped the sun shone all week but you can’t help enjoy the location and house just perfect. If your a walker the coast path is on the doorstep and stunning. Thank you Andrea
I'm delighted that you enjoyed the house and the local walks, it was a pleasure to have you as a guest at Belvedere.
An excellent house with a wonderful host
We felt very lucky to have found Belvedere. The house is in the most wonderful setting with walks and views right at the bottom of the garden. The house is spacious and perfectly equipped for a large group, especially if you want to spend lots of time outside!
Andrea was so accommodating and helpful during our stay-we received the most wonderful welcome box of food and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.
We could not recommend this more easily and do hope to one day return to Belvedere.
Fabulous local beaches within easy walking distance:
Rockham beach 10 min walk down coastal path (not accessible by car). Great for rock-pooling and beach BBQ's. See if you can spot the rusted remains of the ship wreck!
Grunta beach 15 min walk down coastal path (not accessible by car)
Woolacombe beach 25 min walk down road, slightly longer if you take the coastal path or why not try the cross country path via Mortehoe village car park? 5 min drive, ample parking at beach.
Belvedere is located in the village of Mortehoe.
25 minute walk to Woolacombe, 5 mins drive.
15 minute drive to Illfracombe.
1.4 miles to Bull Point Lighthouse.
Easy access to the Tarka Trail and local bike hire.
Guests with young children are advised that while the roads into Mortehoe and Woolacombe are easily accessible with pushchairs, the coastal route is rather rugged and there are lots of steps. We advise using a baby carrier rather than a pushchair.
