Anchor Down is situated in a quiet leafy lane in the heart of Croyde, just round the corner from the famous Thatch Inn and Billy Budd’s. The legendary surfing beach at Croyde Bay is only a short walk away, and some of the finest links golf courses in Britain are located nearby. The house is in a Swiss chalet style, and the décor combines surf and ocean themes. Spacious and newly renovated, Anchor Down is a modern four bedroom house, sleeps 8, with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms including a family bathroom and a separate shower-room. Ideal home from home for larger families, two families or group of friends. There is a double width drive and a garage, allowing ample parking for up to three vehicles. The garage can also be used to securely store surf boards, wetsuits, bikes, or any other outdoor equipment.

Croyde is set in a beautiful location, and the village has a relaxed, friendly vibe. The local beaches are amazing, and there are endless walks and cycle routes in the area. Oh and Croyde also has some of the best surfing in the UK!

What makes this house unique

Anchor Down is right in the centre of Croyde, a sixty second walk from the famous Thatch Inn, yet set back from the high street on a leafy lane so it remains quiet, even in the busy summer months. The sandy beach at Croyde Bay is only a ten minute walk along a footpath.

We had a lovely weeks stay at Anchor Down in Croyde. The accommodation was spotless throughout and the layout very well organised and would suit all families. It is located very close to the beach, a 15 minute very pleasant stroll through the village amenities. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to our friends and family and will certainly be re-booking in the future. Steve has made Anchor Down a very homely and comfortable place to stay.

Lovely house!

We really loved staying at Anchor Down. The property was bigger than we expected from the photos and was very clean and welcoming. A great space to socialise in and also to relax in after a busy day on the beach! Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were too!

The house was in a great location, just a few minutes walk to the centre of Croyde and about 10 minutes walk to the beach along a footpath which was suitable for a pushchair (just a little bumpy). We loved the new deli in Croyde - delicious food and very friendly.

Steve, the owner, gave us loads of information before we left and then was on the end of the phone all weekend if we needed to ask him anything about the house. Thanks for being so flexible about arrival and departure times - that made the weekend even more relaxing for us :-)

Everyone in our group enjoyed our stay and we'd love to stay again soon!

Fab! Property, clean, well equipped, spacious and very comfortable.

We had a great week at Anchor Down, Croyde is a beautiful Devon village and the property is just a few moments walk from the Main Street with the Thatch and Billy Buds pubs, both of which we tried and recommend. We visited lots of other places, we also highly recommend Squires fish restaurant in Braunton, very good food. After our daily travels it was so pleasing coming back to Anchor Down, on an evening we sat and enjoyed a drink and watched DVDs on the very large TV, it was like going to the cinema each night, only without the cost! We met Steve (the owner) on the day of arrival, he is a really nice man, very obliging and answered all my questions regarding the property extremely promptly. He told me, he finds it "very difficult to leave" Anchor Down,when he stays. We fully understand why, it truly is a lovely property in a beautiful part of Devon, we highly recommend a visit.

Amazing weekend in Croyde

Having been to Croyde many times!! we rented this house for the 1st time. We loved it, it is in a great location, it is clean and has everything you could want. We spent most of the time out however when we were in there was lots for the kids to do as the owner has thought of everything. The owner is great and very easy to get hold of if you have a question. I would strongly recommend it as a holiday rental.

A great stay in the heart of Croyde

We had a lovely weekend - the house was modern and in good condition throughout, with comfortable beds. Close to the Thatch and the surf shop. Steve provided excellent detail on everything we needed for the house. High chair and cot provided, plenty of DVDs for rainy afternoons... thanks for a great stay!

A very enjoyable couple of days

Very well thought out information pack, easily understood. Easy instructions how to find the house tucked away in a very quiet part of Croyde. Property very well maintained. Facilities very modern. Layout very simple, all furniture very comfortable. Break only for a couple of days, very easy to get hold of the Owner, we will be recommending this to friends, and we will certainly be going back in the not to distant future.

Fab location, fab house and fab holiday

Lovely house, very conveniently located in the heart of the village. Loads of space in the property (we were a family of 6) and plenty to keep everyone occupied inside and out (kids particularly loved having a go on the 3D TV, Wii and Ps3) whilst adults happier to sit on the deck in the evening sunshine. Happy to recommend to anyone.
