About Lindsay Arnell
Lower Folds is owned by husband and wife Steve and Lindsay who live in the neighbouring county of Staffordshire. We have always loved visiting and walking in the Peak District. We take great pride in being able to offer high quality holiday accommodation to our guests. We always endeavour to welcome guests personally to the cottage and we are on hand to offer advice on the local area and to respond to any events needing immediate attention. As dog lovers ourselves, we don't believe that you should have to compromise on the quality and comfort of your accommodation in order to bring your dog with you on holiday. We look forward to welcoming you to Lower Folds.

Why Lindsay Arnell chose Over Haddon
We had searched for the perfect property in the Peak District for many years. Our criteria was simple but surprisingly difficult to satisfy. The cottage had to: - be in the National Park - be within walking distance of a good "foodie" pub or restaurant - have its own private garden to provide a secure environment for young families and dogs - and have its own parking so that you don't have to spend your precious holiday time hunting for a space. We stumbled across Lower Folds in Over Haddon on one of our many walks and knew immediately that it was the one for us. We think it's perfect to unwind and relax and we hope you will too.
What makes this Cottage unique
Lower Folds is conveniently located in the quiet village of Over Haddon yet only 2.5 miles from the all the shops, restaurants and amenities offered in Bakewell. Over Haddon overlooks the National Nature Reserve of Lathkill Dale, one of the most beautiful dales in the Peak District. Within walking distance of Lower Folds is the CAMRA awarding winning Lathkil Hotel serving excellent food and a wide selection of real ales, ciders, lagers and wines. Also within walking distance of Lower Folds is the Garden Tea Rooms serving hot drinks and sumptuous home made cakes.

Lovely cottage, beautiful location
We had a fantastic weekend at Lower Folds. Lovely welcome from Lindsay at the cottage who told us about walks straight from the cottage door and made us a pot of tea! The cottage is well equipped and beautifully decorated. The welcome pack of bread, butter, milk, wine and doggie biscuits was much appreciated. It’s such a beautiful area away from the hustle and bustle of Bakewell but close enough to get supplies. We will definitely be staying here again!
Lower Folds Over Haddon
Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. Lots of little extras left for us and our dog.
Would recommend this to anyone with dogs who love amazing walks.
We only visited for a weekend but really enjoyed our stay and wish it had been longer. Very clean and tidy property with very comfortable beds. Nice little enclosed back garden which our dog liked mooching around. Liked Bakewell , only a short drive away, and really loved the walk down the river Lathkill. Also, enjoyed the Firework night bonfire and display, which I thought was a superb effort for such a small village. Would highly recommend, for anybody wanting a bit of peace and quiet and as a base to explore the Peak District.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that your weekend coincided with the Bonfire Night celebrations in the village. Over Haddon is a very inclusive village and we will always welcome guests and visitors to join in with village events. Hope to welcome you back again in the future.
Fantastic cottage in a great location close to all the attractions the Peak District has to offer.
Possibly the best cottage we have stayed in over the many years of visiting the Peak District
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback (and for the beautiful roses left at Lower Folds).

We hope to welcome you back soon.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely small village with amazing scenery. Property was everything we hoped
We had a great time on our first family holiday. Lindsay met us at the property and gave us all the information we needed. The property had all the equipment you would expect and also had a high chair and a cot for the little one. Only 5 minutes drive in to Bakewell and some lovely villages close by. Would highly recommend staying here for a break in Derbyshire. We visited Chatsworth House and Matlock and also went for a walk starting from the village which went along the river and back up the top of the valley. Thanks to Lindsay for an excellent stay and making our first family holiday a truly memorable one.
Great Property in a beautiful location.
This was our first visit to the Peak District and my wife and I were not disappointed. We were met on arrival to Lower Folds by the owner Lindsay who turned out to be the perfect host for the introduction as no stone was left unturned regarding information. A much appreciated welcome pack was also provided.
We were aiming to do some walking and were pleased to find out there were a number of walks from our doorstep which we took advantage of. The property is very close to Bakewell, which we now know to be a very pretty town and definitely worth a visit, and not far away from Chatsworth which was also taken advantage of. All in all we had a brilliant few days in a new region for us, in the perfect property and location. I would recommend Lower Folds to anyone and we most certainly wouldn't hesitate to book again for a return visit.
Many thanks to Lindsay for bringing such a lovely property to the holiday market.
