This stunning 4-bedroomed house provides the perfect base to experience the best of this beautiful estuary town, and its luxurious accommodation has all the advantages of modern comfort and conveniences, a real home from home. Batson House is furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard throughout. The house is ideally suited to one or two families for the perfect holiday or short break away. There is a spacious open plan living area on the ground floor and 3 excellent-sized bedrooms on the first floor with a beautiful tiled family bathroom, and stylish shower room. On the lower ground floor there is another large king-sized bedroom with ensuite shower room. The house is the perfect base to explore not only everything Salcombe has to offer, but also nearby Dartmouth, and the surrounding area of the South Hams, Devon.

About James Fisher
Batson House is owned by the Fisher family who have recently renovated the house and brought it back to its former glory. They enjoy staying in this beautiful home, & then rent it out when the family are not using it. John is a lawyer living in Upton-upon-Severn, & is married to Sue. They enjoy their weekends on the beach with their daughter Olivia & their dog. James is a management consultant living in Leigh-on-sea with wife Victoria. Their children Emily & Edward love wandering around Salcombe, Emily for the shops, and Edward much prefers the crabbing!

The family love Salcombe, having spent every summer there with their parents while growing up, so buying Batson House, close to the centre of town, was something they've always wanted to do. Salcombe is an idyllic estuary town, with something for everyone. Batson House is a short 5-minute walk into town, but its elevated position provides peace and quiet and lovely estuary glimpses. The house is spacious, and perfect for 2 families or 3 generations to enjoy a very special time away, in a very special town.

Batson House is a real home from home with everything you need for a fabulous holiday in Sunny Salcombe. It has recently been fully renovated to a very high standard and beautifully decorated throughout. As well as being within a short walking distance of all the shops, bars & restaurants in Salcombe itself, you can also easily walk to the beaches of North Sands and South Sands, and the Spar convenience store is a 5 minute walk away. Beautiful, clean spacious house
The house was easy to find and has a space for one car at the rear. There was always spaces at the front of the house, so parking was not a problem. On entering the house, we found it to be as lovely as the photos we had seen on line. The house was immaculately clean, spacious and well decorated.
It only takes ten to fifteen minutes to walk to the town centre. We were lucky, as the week we chose was sunshine all week, and spent most of the time during the day on the beach.
I would thourghly recommend staying at this house, and hopefully, we will stay there again.

Batson House proved to be an excellent base for our two families to explore the delights of Salcombe. It's beautifully decorated and there are some really nice touches. Bathrooms and kitchen all very clean and modern. Nice to have a courtyard garden too. All in all wouldnt hesitate to recommend.
Beautiful period property refurbished to a very high standard
My husband and I stayed at Batson House with our Son, daughter in law, 3 month old Grandson and our 2 dogs. The house has been beautifully renovated with families in mind. The open plan kitchen/diner/living room is particularly impressive and a great space for the whole family to relax whilst Mom's cooking breakfast! The downstairs shower room was also great for showering the dogs off after a day on the beach. The property is in an elevated position about a 5 minute walk downhill to the centre of Salcombe. We would definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful house.
Coast/Beach: The nearest beach to Batson House is Northsands, just a 15 minute walk downhill. This lovely sandy beach is perfect for children. Also close by are the beaches of East Portlemouth accessible from Salcombe via passenger ferry. A family favourite is Mill Bay, a gorgeous sheltered beach situated in the mouth of the Salcombe estuary. Mill Bay is MCS recommended for it's high quality water standards, and as well as plenty of golden sand Mill Bay beach has rock pools and safe bathing for families. Travel: Nearest airports - Exeter and Plymouth - approx 1 hour drive, Bristol - approx 2 hours drive. Nearest train station - Totnes - Approx 45-minute drive - fast train to London = 2 hours 45 minutes. Nearest Port - Plymouth - Approx 45-minute drive with regular ferries to Roscoff in France, Cork in Ireland and Santander in Northern Spain (Brittany Ferries). Distances: Kingsbridge - 10 min drive Slapton Sands - 25 min drive Blackpool Sands - 35 min drive Dartmouth - 35 min drive Totnes - 35 min drive Dartmoor - 45 min drive Further Details: The is a local Spar shop a 5 minute walk minute from Batson House stocking all the basics required. All the supermarkets deliver to Salcombe. In the town there are deli and specialists shops, a Lloyds bank and plenty of restaurants.

Booking Notes: Please check availability on this website, and then send an email with your initial enquiry. 1/3rd non-refundable deposit is required. Balance is due 8 weeks prior to start of your holiday. Payment can be made by BACS bank transfer or by cheque. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ACCEPT DOGS IN THE OFF-SEASON MONTHS ONLY (i.e. October-April) Changeover Day: In peak and mid season the changeover day is Friday. Arrival is after 4pm and departure by 10.00am. In low season this is flexible and short breaks are available in low season on request. Notes on prices: Please note during off peak times short breaks will be considered. Please email us for a quote.
