Cabin branch was a delight. My husband and I spent a wonderfull Thanksgiving at the cabin, close to hiking, fishing and most of all peace and quiet. We loved it so much we are going back during Christmas week!!! Can't wait..,,,,,
Cabin Branch is gorgeous - the pictures really do not do it justice. It's beautifully decorated with lots of local artwork and warm wood surfaces. Everything you need is included in abundance - just bring your food! The beds are comfy and the rooms are very spacious. I loved the screened porch in the evenings, the open front porch and back deck for morning coffee - tons of outside area and lots of seating. While it is in a neighborhood, it is very secluded - we even saw a deer run through the back yard into the woods! Very conveniently located near Mt.Mitchell and lots of trails of varying intensity. The owner created a nice binder with all kinds of info about local trails, waterfalls, activities, etc.
The owner, Ron, was super nice to deal with. Honestly, there was a scheduling snafu on the first day of our stay - the previous renters had extended their stay twice (3 weeks total), and their last day didn't make it onto the calendar, so it was double booked. Ron was very apologetic and within minutes of the discovery (we were still on the road) had found us another cabin down the street from Cabin Branch, which ended up being at the trail head for the first waterfall we wanted to see anyway (Roaring Fork Falls). When we made it to Cabin Branch on day 2, it was clear why the previous folks wanted to stay longer. The place really is that nice. I'm already looking at the calendar to see when I can go back!!
The cabin is decorated with local artwork. It is very spacious. Very private and yet convenient to Mt. Mitchell, trout fishing and the Carolina Hemlocks. We loved the deck and screened in porch with the sound of the mountain spring always flowing with the waterfalls. The neighbors were charming and friendly, offering tips and advice. The cabin had everything we needed and was clean and well stocked. There were bikes provided and the wifi worked great the whole stay. We caught trout and small mouth bass. The only thing that would have completed our trip would have been a visit from the bears we'd hoped to snap pics of.
My friends and I came down from Indiana to see beautiful Mt Mitchell. It was a perfect cabin for our guys extended weekend trip. The cabin was very clean and had everything we could ask for. The owner was great with any questions we had and was very friendly. I am already planning another trip and this time taking my wife.
We had the most relaxing time during our 2 night stay in this amazing log home that was pet friendly. The screened porch was just what I needed to sit and listen to nature. The home was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.
We loved our stay at Cabin Branch! The cabin is immaculate and just beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace--loved the bear pic over the carved mantle! The screen porch and back porch are both wonderful to sit and listen to the fall next to the cabin! Perfect place to get away and relax!!! We plan to definitely go back in the future! The cabin is fully stocked with anything and everything you could need-just bring your groceries. We also loved that we could bring our dog with us--she enjoyed her stay as well. :) I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great place to relax and kick back!
