Cozy cabin close to Mt Mitchell
We were looking for a cozy cabin close to Mt Mitchell and Cabin Branch met all our expectations. Renting the property was a very smooth process and we are ready to plan our next trip.
Great place for NC Mountain Stay!
Cabin Branch fulfilled our expectations from the VRBO Listing. Owner called after check in to be sure all was well. Had a problem with Wi-Fi. Ron called the provider and got it working. I would recommend Cabin Branch to anyone who enjoys the NC mountains. I think Ron is an owner who cares for his clients and will make every effort to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. Great cabin. Enjoyed our stay. Wish it would have rained more so the branch beside the screened in porch would flowed harder. Will be back.
Nice but not as advertised
First let me give the positives. Its a really nice cabin stocked very well and its location is great as a base station to explore the area.
The owner was quick to call after check in to make sure we arrived and all was well, he also offered some things to see and do during our stay which was very appreciated. Now for the negatives, the pics must have been taken when the cabin was built because it is very overgrown now and you can barely see the cabin through the surrounding growth. This is really a personal preference thing, we prefer sunshine and views which you won't get here. Only other issue we had was the cabin hasn't been maintained well. There were cob webs everywhere and being a previous cabin owner myself I know this happens when there is a lack of pest control which is fine but than you have to keep on top of the resulting spider webs. Oh and there is one last thing, I wouldn't ask my vacationers to make trash runs to the local trash station its tacky and I'm on vacation. All in all I wouldn't tell someone not to stay here because to each his own but for me I will look elsewhere next time.
Thanks for the positive comments, however the negative comments bear a response. Many renters appreciate the privacy of the place, the lot has been planted with the idea of making it private and much of the original logging that had to be done to build has been replaced with new foliage to insure a private experience for guests. Cobwebs are a staple in the woods, they can be removed one day and return the next, and are on the outside between some of the logs and not inside. As for trash, there is a large trash barrel in the basement for guests use. Yancey County does not have trash pick-up so it is suggested that guests drop their trash at one of the convenience centers on their way out, which they have to pass.It is disconcerting that these guests rated the cabin based on their "personal preference". Most guests appreciate the privacy the cabin offers.
Cabin in the mountains
The cabin was very nice and nestled up in the mountains. While there we took side trips to The Biltmore and the Grove Park Inn, where we had breathtaking views. The weather was perfect. The people were very friendly. We would sit out on the deck and enjoy our happy hours.
Loved the cabin, very nice quiet place
