The house is in great condition, and is equipped with everything you need for a stress free weekend away. We loved being able to travel with our dogs so they could enjoy the area with us. We lucked out with a mild December weekend, so we could enjoy relaxing on the screened in porch with coffee and the sound of the stream down below us. The owner is very responsive, and easy to work with. I highly recommend this place.
Very good experience with the cabin. It exceeded our expectation from the listing description. Loved the floor plan and location beside the creek. Home is a short drive to waterfalls, golf course, Mt. Mitchell hiking trails and a manageable drive to Asheville. Not many restaurants around Mt. Mitchell, so we went to Black Mountain and Asheville one day. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away and enjoy the outdoors. Owner is very responsive and called to check in on us.
This cabin truly felt like home away from home for us. There was clearly a lot of attention to detail in making sure that we had anything we would need for a wonderful few days in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. So nice to have an owner who was concerned not only about the condition of the cabin but also about whether we made it into the house as well as if there was anything we needed. In addition, our passion is waterfalls and we were not disappointed! We were there during a few chilly fall days and the cabin was so warm and inviting that our only wish was that we had extended our stay for a few more days. Truly a wonderful place!
Cabin branch was a delight. My husband and I spent a wonderfull Thanksgiving at the cabin, close to hiking, fishing and most of all peace and quiet. We loved it so much we are going back during Christmas week!!! Can't wait..,,,,,
Cabin Branch is gorgeous - the pictures really do not do it justice. It's beautifully decorated with lots of local artwork and warm wood surfaces. Everything you need is included in abundance - just bring your food! The beds are comfy and the rooms are very spacious. I loved the screened porch in the evenings, the open front porch and back deck for morning coffee - tons of outside area and lots of seating. While it is in a neighborhood, it is very secluded - we even saw a deer run through the back yard into the woods! Very conveniently located near Mt.Mitchell and lots of trails of varying intensity. The owner created a nice binder with all kinds of info about local trails, waterfalls, activities, etc.
The owner, Ron, was super nice to deal with. Honestly, there was a scheduling snafu on the first day of our stay - the previous renters had extended their stay twice (3 weeks total), and their last day didn't make it onto the calendar, so it was double booked. Ron was very apologetic and within minutes of the discovery (we were still on the road) had found us another cabin down the street from Cabin Branch, which ended up being at the trail head for the first waterfall we wanted to see anyway (Roaring Fork Falls). When we made it to Cabin Branch on day 2, it was clear why the previous folks wanted to stay longer. The place really is that nice. I'm already looking at the calendar to see when I can go back!!
The cabin is decorated with local artwork. It is very spacious. Very private and yet convenient to Mt. Mitchell, trout fishing and the Carolina Hemlocks. We loved the deck and screened in porch with the sound of the mountain spring always flowing with the waterfalls. The neighbors were charming and friendly, offering tips and advice. The cabin had everything we needed and was clean and well stocked. There were bikes provided and the wifi worked great the whole stay. We caught trout and small mouth bass. The only thing that would have completed our trip would have been a visit from the bears we'd hoped to snap pics of.
