Situated right in the centre of Windermere village in the heart of the Lake District National Park, close to all the shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and local amenities.

Old Codgers pet friendly Cottage offers home from home comforts for your perfect self catering cottage holiday in the beautiful lake district.

Built in the mid 19th century using traditional Lakeland stone materials our 2 bedroom cottage briefly comprises two double bedrooms, luxurious shower room, lounge with a cozy gas coal effect fire enabling you to enjoy the cozy ambience after hard day on the fells. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, microwave oven, washing machine and a dryer. At the rear of the property there is small enclosed pet friendly garden with patio table and chairs that allows you to enjoy the Lake District evenings sipping a glass of wine or one of the local produced Lakeland ales. For our guests with young children we supply a travel cot and a high chair for their use. We also supply ( free of charge ) a Windermere parking permit enabling you to park your vehicle outside of Old Codgers cottage and right in the centre of Windermere.

Our aim is to give you the holidaymaker a holiday to remember in our quaint little cottage, we both thrive on making our guests feel welcome and comfortable during their stay at Old Codgers. We offer a service that is second to none in self catering cottage holidays from the initial enquiry, arrival to departure we always do our upmost to ensure our guests have a great time. We have many guests making return visits to stay with us from all over the world and we feel privileged that guests want to stay with us time and time again. We are always available to answer any queries regarding the cottage or surrounding areas by e mail or phone to ensure our guests have a brilliant lake district holiday.

My wife and I bought Old Codgers Cottage as we love Windermere and the Lake District, we have spent a lot of time over many years in the area and Old Codgers Cottage is central to everything with an array of shops and restaurants all within easy walking distance. It is easily accessible by road or rail and there is plenty of public transport. We love the beautiful scenery and the peace and tranquillity the lake district has to offer and its amazing how this stunning area of natural beauty seems to change throughout the seasons.

What makes this cottage unique

Old Codgers cottage is a traditional Lakeland stone cottage dating back to the mid 1840's, yet inside it has all the luxuries and comforts you need and still keeps its traditional charm. Parking outside the cottage and walking straight through the front door and right in to the centre of Windermere which is remarkable, Old Codgers Cottage is the most central holiday rental cottage in Windermere. All the shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants and eateries are all within a 300 metre walk from the doorstep. It is in a prime location and many locals don't have this privilege as to park your car right in the centre with a free parking permit.

Cumbria, at the very north of England, is amongst its most beautiful regions. The Lake District National Park has long been celebrated for its mirror lakes and craggy peaks.

There are also an abundance of pretty villages and towns including old-fashioned Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere which boasts Englands largest lake were you can take the ferry to the quaint little village of Hawkshead.

The Lake District is heaven for those who love the outdoors, with sailing, rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking and much more on offer. Local attractions include Hilltop the home were Beatrix Potter wrote her celebrated children's stories, Wray Castle, The National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole, Lakeside and Haverwaite Steam Railway, The Beatrix Potter Museum and Gallery, Dove Cottage once home to the famous poet William Wordsworth, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall are to name a few.
