These stunning luxury eco-cabins offer guests all they could want from a self catering property by the historic town of St Andrews. Nestled on a quiet hillside on the family farm of Cuplahills the cabins enjoy uninterrupted views over the bay of St Andrews. Just 10 minutes from St Andrews and 1 hour from Edinburgh with the East Coast railway only a few minutes away. Up to 6 guests can enjoy all the benefits of a beautifully rural escape that will leave young families, golfers and couples eager to return.

The cabins are very new, having just opened in summer 2012.

Bedroom 1 is a double room with a large en-suit shower and toilet. Views from the bedroom look south from the elevated position across the Bay of St Andrews and the rolling countryside beneath.

Bedroom 2 & 3 are twin rooms with beds that can be made up as doubles or twin singles. The bedrooms are on one level and share the bathroom. Each room enjoys wonderful views across our family farm. What better way to wake up than to see the sheep or horses grazing in the paddock.


There is a shared bathroom with bath and overhead drench shower and handheld rose. The en-suit bathroom has a large easy access cubicle with overhead drench and handheld rose. Both showers are power showers with much of the hot water being provided by solar panels.


The new kitchen forms part of the open plan living area. Equipment includes gas range hobs, electric fan assisted oven, microwave, integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

About Stephen Melville

We are a 3rd generation farming family that takes great pride in the countryside, enhancing nature and ensuring that the farm is kept in good heart for current and future generations.

We have a young family, Freddie and Freya, who love meeting guests and their kids and playing with them on the farm and play park.

We want to be able to let others experience the delights that Cuplahills Farm and North East Fife has to offer.

Attention to detail is of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that all those that visit Cuplahills Farm experience the very best hospitality and quality experience.

It is our belief that those choosing to come and stay at our eco-cabins must enjoy exceptionally high quality accommodation and will leave wanting to return for a future vacation.

Bird Watching can be pursued at the SSSI site at Tentsmuir Beach or at Eden Estuary

Star Gazing - The rural location means that dark skies prevail making star gazing an amazing pastime for all ages.

Fishing can be undertaken at St Andrews harbour or along any of the coastal villages of the East Neuk. There are also numerous well socked local fishing ponds that can be accessed.


St Andrews Country Cabins is located near the North East Fife coastline and many beaches are easily accessed by car. Tentsmuir Forest & Kinshaldy Beach is just 10 minutes drive and also provides cycling for all ages with a fabulous woodland play park. St Andrews hosts the West & East Sands, which are 10 minutes drive and many of the East Neuk fishing villages, with a choice of sandy beaches and rocky pools, are within a 1/2 hour drive. The award winning Kingsbarns Beach is 25 minutes drive.


The nearest airports to St Andrews Country Cabins include Edinburgh International (55 miles), Glasgow International (80 miles) and Dundee (12 miles).

Local train stations include Leuchars (3 miles) and Cupar (6 miles). Local buses stop in the village of Balmullo and provide a regular service to St Andrews and Dundee.

It would be advised that travel by car is the most suitable way to move around the local area from the cabins.

The local village of Balmullo is just a 1 mile walk down the farm track and hosts a very well equipped grocery store (SPAR), village pub, beautician and play park.

Situated just a 10 minute drive from St Andrews, our cabins are perfectly located for easy access to the town. St Andrews is not only steeped in history, but is a renowned University town, made famous as the meeting point and University town of William and Kate.

St Andrews is a cosmopolitan town buzzing with student activity, bustling with golfers and foreigners enjoying the quaint harbour town. Famously known as ‘The Home of Golf’, St Andrews offers the choice of 11 golf courses, including several championship courses and The Old Course, a frequent venue for The Open Championship.

Golf is however not the only attraction on offer as visitors can enjoy two magnificent beaches; the West and East Sands, popular for walking, bird watching & water sports. St Andrews also has a great selection of specialist shops and world class restaurants to suit all budgets.

Payment can be taken using secure online banking facilities, cheques or via PayPal. Regrettably credit / debit cards cannot be accepted.

A 30% deposit is taken to confirm bookings and the balance must be paid 1 month prior to arrival.

Changeover Day:
Our preferred changeover days are Friday and Monday however we will try to be as flexible as possible.

Check in from 3pm and checkout by 10am unless otherwise agreed.

Notes on accommodation: The Pitbladdo cabin has ramp access for those that are not comfortable with stairs and this cabin is also the one that we are happy to receive dogs in. Outside: The cabins benefit from a large south facing deck with table, chairs and parasol provided along with a gas BBQ. There is a large open grass area alongside each cabin that looks directly onto the animal paddock and leads to the private play park. The cabins have their own private access road off our farm track with ample parking. The farm plays host to two Community Woodlands and numerous farm tracks providing ideal access for walking, running, cycling and horse trekking. Guests can gain access to the farm livery and view the farm animals and collect eggs form the hens when accompanied by the owners.
