Overview

About the property

Barn in Stithians, Nr. Falmouth, Cornwall, England - Granite Barn Conversion, Peaceful Rural Setting, 15 Mins Walk From Lake And 15 Mins Drive To Beach.

Brand new to the market in 2015, The Dairy is a charming grade 2 listed barn conversion adjoining the farmhouse and was recently converted (by the current owners) from two barns, which were previously a milking parlour and piggery. It has a bright lounge/diner with a vaulted ceiling, cosy wood burner and French doors opening out onto the courtyard and garden; two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a modern fully equipped kitchen. It is contemporary in style and has been decorated with local artwork. The Dairy has its own drive with parking for two cars and we welcome well behaved dogs.

Set in a tranquil location, The Dairy overlooks the courtyard and garden with patio table and chairs and a barbecue. The garden is terraced over three lawned levels and great for garden games. It has a tree swing and a sunken trampoline. The Dairy was once part of the Tretheague Estate with it’s Grade II* listed Georgian Manor house built in 1744 by architect Thomas Edwards. All the old farm buildings are now restored and complete this lovely little hamlet: Tretheague Barton, The Farmhouse, The Cottage, The Dairy, The Piggery, The Granary and The Smithy. The Dairy lies on the edge of Stithians village and is perfectly situated for exploring both the North and South coasts of Cornwall. Truro, Helford Passage, Helston, Redruth and Camborne Mining Heritage, Newquay, St Ives, Padstow, the Lizard, Lands End, Penzance, Mousehole are all within touching distance.

About Jane Williams

Jane And Gwyn would love to welcome you to the Dairy. We have been living in Cornwall since 2002 and absolutely love the life we have. We have two children Bethany and Benjamin 16 and 14 respectively. We moved to Stithians in 2007 and converted the barn initially as ancillary accommodation for relatives and now have recently updated it for holiday letting. We are happy to help in anyway we can to make your holiday as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

Jane Williams purchased this barn in 2007

Why Jane Williams chose Stithians

We moved down to Cornwall in 2002 and bought a holiday park which we successfully ran for 6 years but with our children growing up fast we wanted to have a bit more quality time with them and so sold the park and moved to Stithians. We were attracted to it because it is off the beaten track in a nice little hamlet of five or six renovated barns but still close to the village . Stithians is a great location as it is equidistant from the bustling harbour town of Falmouth with its quaint cobbled streets and plethora of bars and restaurants and the city of Truro with its cathedral, shops, and further choice of restaurants. Also being in the middle of the county its great for the choice of north or south coasts , just get up, look at the sky and choose the best coast for the weather

Perfect!!

A magnificent facility which we have just had the pleasure of enjoying. Excellent luxurious accommodation completed to a very high standard with everything provided coupled with a lovely welcome pack over and above what we were expecting, but very much appreciated. Added to that you have the bonus of a fantastic, central and relaxing location which is ideal from which to visit the lovely parts of Cornwall.

Thanks very much for everything.

Margaret & Mike

Tastefully decorated and charming property

  • 5 of 5

The Dairy is a really charming property, it is beautifully maintained, tastefully decorated with a lovely bright sitting/dining room. Two wonderful bathrooms and two double bedrooms. We immediately felt at home because it was so clean and homely. There was a lovely welcome pack and the accommodation was extremely well equipped. The owners are very helpful and make us all feel very welcome, including our dog who settled in quickly. The situation of the property only about 10 minutes from Falmouth made it particularly convenient. We also were able to explore further afield to St Ives and to Mousehole,as well as other lovely places and beaches. To be honest the accommodation is so lovely we were reluctant to leave it at all. We enjoyed sitting around the log burner in the evening just relaxing.

Thank you Jane and Gwyn for a really lovely break.

Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented about 15 self catering properties over the years and this is the most well equipped one yet! Loved the welcome package with scones, Cornish cream, milk, eggs and much more.

Spotlessly clean!

The lounge was spacious with comfortable seating and a great wood burner, TV with all the channels and a selection of books and travel information/maps. It was bright and cheerful with French doors and skylights.

Spacious kitchen with new appliances and a good selection of dishes and cookware.

Lovely garden with outdoor seating.

There are two full bathroom and 2 bedrooms, one on each side of the cottage, so great for family or two couples.

Jane was a pleasure to work with, responding to questions right away during the booking process. Our deposit was returned before we made it back home!

Highly recommended!
