About Angela Hardy-Bishop

.My father was born in Cumbria when it was known as Cumberland. Most of my relatives live in the county.

This year a couple who were flooded out stayed in my cottage while their home was renovated. My cottage is half way up the hill in the town.. .

Angela Hardy-Bishop purchased this cottage in 1994

Why Angela Hardy-Bishop chose Appleby-in-Westmorland

.Appleby is an interesting town with some very old buildings. The local people are really friendly. It is close to Windermere. Kendal, Keswick and the lakes to the west and Barnard's Castle, Durham and the Pennines to the east. There are stone circles in the area including Long Meg and her Daughters, Hadrian's Wall is to the north. There is a lot to choose from and in the centre of Appleby there is a very friendly Tourist Information Centre in the Moot Hall (a white building near to the church cloisters). Enjoy.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is very reasonably priced at £250 per week for every week of the year irrespective of bank holidays. There is a minimum stay of 3 nights.
