Semi-detached half of a barn conversion: bedrooms: master bedroom with double bed, one twin with two single beds. Upstairs large comfy sitting/dining room with new woodburner and kitchen with open rafters: spacious and light. New bathroom has bath with shower.
We bought Bodilly Veor in Easter 2014 and have been busy renovating it since. This is not a polished, empty holiday let but very much a warm family home where children are welcome. Think of it more as a friend's house that you are visiting, where they happen to be out! Charming and ancient. Huge granite fireplaces, full of character. Lots of things available for your use, from the kitchen store cupboard to books and games. Upstairs is the master bedroom with a huge superking bed, a large room with a small double bed overlooking the garden, and two smaller bedrooms both with bunk beds. So two double beds in total plus four singles. Huge bathroom with roll top bath and shower. Downstairs: breakfast room with 4 oven Aga plus gas cooker in back kitchen, cosy sitting room with woodburner and TV, large bathroom, sheltered pretty garden with BBQ, trampoline and field for football/cricket. The 3 acre private garden is home to 2 French Maran hens, which I can lend to a friend if you'd rather not look after them - but the eggs are delicious if you choose to keep them. The house is 2 miles from a friendly pub in Porkellis, 10 mins drive to Helston (Tesco, Sburys). Our fave beaches are Gwithian on the north coast (10 miles) or on the South: Praa Sands and Gunwealloe (both 10 miles). You can borrow our bodyboards. This is a great spot to explore West Cornwall from - St Ives is 25 mins away, and you have The Lizard south of Helston with its stunning beaches and the coastal path for walking. Falmouth has lots of new eateries and the Maritime Museum if it's raining plus nice antique shops. Central heating. Wifi. Pool table and table tennis in (unheated) barn.
Hello, my husband and I moved from London to Cornwall and run two businesses in Cornwall - a hotel and a restaurant. We have three children, aged 12, 10 and 8.
sarah hayes purchased this barn in 2014
This spot is beautifully quiet and peaceful, down lanes lined with wild flowers, opposite a working farm - enjoy watching lambs in the spring months. Listen to barn and tawny owls at dusk. Fresh air, bird song, pretty garden with pond. We are based near Helston that has a cinema, Sainsburys, Tesco plus a Horse and Jockey Bakery with best pasties in Cornwall. Playground with boating lake too, and entrance to bicycle-friendly path to Loe Bar and Penrose Estate (National Trust).
Peace, calm, nature, rural, garden, stunning ancient house with ancient features. Half an hour's walk to Poldark Mine.
