                                                          Cosy Stay Over The New Year Period

                                                          We had the perfect stay at Alnmouth over the New Year period and the apartment provided a lovely cosy base. From start to finish Paul was very helpful and was always quick to get back to us to answer any questions etc. The apartment is quite roomy with a cosy living/dining room, a well equipment large kitchen and 3 comfortable bedrooms. Heating was there when you needed it and at no point did we feel cold.

                                                          As mentioned in several reviews the views from the apartment and the garden (accessed via the dining area) is beautiful, just to sit in the living room reading or catching up with friends and family with the magnificent Northeast coastline as your backdrop is a treat. You will find yourself getting up sharp to catch the sunrise and you will not be disappointed.

                                                          Cant fault Alnmouth, just the right size with enough pubs, restaurants, tea rooms etc. to provide some choice with some great coastal or country walks on your doorstep. At the bells they have a nice touch where locals and tourists alike meet up outside the local church to welcome the New Year in, followed by a dip in the North sea on New Years day for the brave or just the plain crazy!

                                                          We had a lovely couple of days and I would whole heatedly recommend the apartment and Alnmouth if you are looking for a relaxing coastal break with some excellent amenities on your doorstep.

                                                          Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the issues you had with parking by the apartment, it is unfortunately not something we can guarantee as there are other residents in the house. I will also take up the feedback re cleanliness with the company who manages the handovers between guests.

                                                          We enjoyed our stay here. There was lots of room and the main rooms were bright as was the main bedroom. Central heating when needed worked a treat and the kitchen was well equipped. Scones on arrival were a nice touch, the sharp knives much appreciated, a scourer would have helped clean marks on cups, and some pots and pans needed replaced. The only real disappointment was the outside. Both front and rear needed some TLC, and the garden cried out for furniture to sit out and enjoy the fantastic view! Overall an excellent stay and we would recommend, thank you.

                                                          Information on the website was accurate and our expectations were met. The email contact with the owner was good and he answered promptly a couple of queries I had. The property was clean, well equipped and in a central location, close to local amenities (short walk to some eateries, pub and grocery stores). It was also an ideal base to explore Northumberland and as we had good weather we were able to visit the many castle ruins and beaches. We would definitely recommend this area and property.

                                                          Alnmouth, Alnwick, UK

                                                          Coast/Beach: Alnmouth village sits on a headland between the estuary of the river Aln and the sea and the beach is less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment. Walk up the coast to Boulmer, Craster and beyond to Dunstanburgh Castle and Bamburgh Castle for the very fit or head south across the estuary towards Warkworth village with its castle or a little further to Amble and the marina. Travel: Alnmouth is about 40 minutes drive from Newcastle and its international airport. It has a main line rail station about 3/4 mile from the village with direct trains from London and Edinburgh. 30 minutes to Newcastle or an hour to Edinburgh for a day out. Bus services will take you to the station and to local villages and towns, including Alnwick and Warkworth. Distances: Alnmouth is 3 miles from Alnwick (market town, castle, gardens), 30 miles from Newcastle and 80 miles from Edinburgh. Walkworth (castle) is 5 miles away, Bamburgh (beaches & castle) 20 miles and Holy Island (Lindisfarne) 30 miles. 15 miles inland are the Cheviot hills and the town of Rothbury, including Cragside house and gardens. The area is known for its walking, golfing and cycling. Further Details: Alnmouth offers 4 pubs, all offering excellent food including an Italian restaurant. There are a further 3 small restaurants and coffee shops. The village country store has a deli counter and wide range of foodstuff, wines, beers etc. There is a post office / newsagent.
