About Howard Kendall
I have recently bought this cabin & I already own 3 others on the site. We get here as often as possible as it really is the ultimate place to relax & recharge your batteries.
Howard Kendall purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Howard Kendall chose Caeathro
I own 3 other cabins & do my best to make sure you have a great holiday see my guest reviews on other established cabins. We come down most weekends & school holidays & love the area & peace & quiet while still being close to lots of attractions. The cabins are a tranquil haven set in beautiful woodlands while Caernarfon is a bustling walled town with so much history & character.
What makes this Cabin unique
Both 240, 241 & 217 are Set literally on the river bank the views are amazing & change with the seasons. 183 is a 2 bedroom & is sat above the river & in the beautiful grounds & has been renovated to the same high standard. 183 would sleep 5 Adults (more if sofa bed used) & has a lovely view of the river below Heated swimming pool in high season. Fully Licensed Clubhouse on site with entertainment. River or Coarse fishing on site with sea fishing nearby. Snowdon nearby with fantastic mountain walks.

Well presented with good amenities, the site is well kept and clean with a nice pool, bar and shop.
We used cabin as a base to explore north wales and lived up to our expections, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay I hope to welcome you back again soon
Cold, damp, musty, poor standard.
No doubting the setting is great but the property is renovated to a poor standard. When we arrived the cabin was very univiting. The decking is very very slippery and dangerous., inside was smelling extremely musty with damp in every room and very cold. We put the heaters on to try and warm the place up but they are not adequate. There was also a leak on the hot water cylinder which to be fair, Howard got someone to do a temporary repair. All in all not an enjoyable stay and in my opinion, overpriced.
Please Read other reviews for genuine comments.
Yes the hot water cylinder had been apparently been leaking so this was fixed within an hour of it being reported.
The decking is slippery in winter hence the warning signs (being covered in Astroturf next month)
You arrived late in the day in November so yes cabin would be cold on arrival but it soon warms up & is fully insulated to hold in heat.
Cabin has been fully renovated as all other reviews will testify
Nice location Compact and bijou and but not really wheelchair accessible
The cabin is in a lovely situation by the river and it was clean, fresh towels and bedding. We were looking for wheelchair accommodation and we could easily get onto the decking and then that was it. The threshold into the cabin was standard so we had to leave my sons chair in the car and lift him into the cabin onto a bean bag each time we came in. I was told it wasn't up to full spec but I had thought we could at least get in the door. Anyhow the location is prefect for family holidays days out etc and the folks around are very friendly. Thanks
Door threshold is standard but easy to manoeuvre standard wheelchair over as plenty of gusts have in the past.
It isn't suitable for large electric wheelchairs which if asked I would have informed
Lovely property but expensive BE CAREFUL
The property and location are very good. Very good accommodation and facilities. But be careful as you get charged in addition a ridiculous 50 pound service charge and you have to pay for your electricity on top of the rental charge as well. I think this property for our short stay was very very expensive. Staff very helpful and good location though.
There is no service charge you mean the booking fee that owners direct charge which is quoted before you pay a deposit.
If your not happy with cost then don't book simple?
The £2.50 that you used on electric clearly tipped you over the edge 😀😀
Fantastic place - look nowhere else!
We stayed (3 of us) in this lovely cabin and were very happy that we did (it was cabin 241 that we stayed). There are endless compliments that could be paid to this place. The location: Perfect. It settles alongside the riverbank, being able to look over the wooden railing to see the water trickle on by (in case anyone is wondering, it is pretty much the same set-up as the picture used above, even if the pic is from a different cabin). We were able to park right next to the cabin with room for at least 2 cars, maybe a 3rd. It's also a stones throw away (by car) to Caernarfon.
There is a double bedroom that was delightful, with another room which had a bunkbed, but the bottom bunk was a double. I stayed in the double bedroom and each day woke up to the sound of the river running by. The lounge space suited our purposes with enough space to prepare and eat food - nicely thought out.
The site itself was peaceful, though if you wanted to (and we did) you could visit the bar on site along with the cafe and shop (suitably away from the cabin - no noise). All patrons that worked across all areas were fantastic. There was a pool that was adjacent to the bar which was being fully used, although we did not partake as we planned to go fishing. There's a pond on site for those interested.
Howard (the owner of the Cabin) was also really helpful and was always able to respond (quickly too) to any questions we asked of him. Though I've never met him in person, he was very pleasent.
In summary if you are looking for a small break away with either a few friends (as we did) or even just as a couple, look no further.
We had a good rest but every room was overlooked so had to keep curtains closed at all times
The property was ok but it didn't feel homely and smelt musty we don't think the cabin reflected the price. Sorry but just being honest. I scalded my shoulder in the shower because it went from freezing to boiling instantly.
How can every room be overlooked when you are on the riverbank?
Were you concerned about the otters or fish watching you?
The shower is a new electric shower that steys at set temperature.
I hope people take note of all the other reviews rather than this false one.
