The grounds have a breathtaking view down the valley. The pool and grounds are all SW facing so are bathed in glorious sunshine all afternoon.
The property is accessed through the stone courtyard and was converted from its original use as a chestnut drying house. It has a small private garden to the side and access to the pool and grounds of the main house.
It is self-contained with a kitchen and living area downstairs and gallery bedroom with en-suite upstairs.
The area is especially appreciated by nature lovers, cyclists and runners as there are numerous walks and the village connects with the via Francigena. Many of our guests have enjoyed running in the area and the river bathing is fantastic with some amazing caves and gorges to be discovered a short drive away.
The medieval charm of the property and area of Lunigiana (the Tuscan secret only a few know about) extends to the closest town of Pontremoli. The town is approximately 12km away with a number of excellent restaurants, high quality artisan food outlets, supermarkets and a twice weekly market.
I am a qualified nutritionist and health coach with a passion for real food and supporting my clients to make informed choices about nutrition. I have been hosting guests at our beautifully restored property for the last eight years.
When in Italy, I love to take advantage of the fresh and nutritious food available cooking up some wonderful dishes. I also enjoy going to the beach, river swimming, experiencing amazing local re-enactment festivals and sailing with friends.
My husband and I bought this property to renovate it. The area is tranquil and not too full of people and tourists. It has a sleepy, bucolic charm about it and we love experiencing the seasons through the local, delicious food available.
The air quality is wonderful and the pool catches the sun all afternoon which warms the soul :). We find it relaxing and peaceful with some beautiful areas to explore in nature. It is a relaxed way of life and if you are missing the hustle and bustle there are markets and fiestas nearby that can put you back in touch with day-to-day life or busty towns such as Pisa, Parma, Modena and Genova slightly further afied..
We really loved the whole area with the pool and its amazing view, your delicious chocolate cake :) and everything around! We had great adventures when climbing and swimming through the gorge di Giaredo, biking to Montelungo Terme or walking to the waterfall of Pracchiola.
