About John Nicolle & Julie Daniel

Chalet Le Péry is the home of John and Julie. We are an independent owner run business conveniently nestled between Morillon and Les Carroz in the Grand Massif.

We purchased the chalet in 2014 to realise our dream of running a catered chalet business. We are both keen skiers with over 20 years of experience and also enjoy the challenges of trekking in the mountains. Combining our two passions the decision for a change in lifestyle was an easy one.

We relocated from Jersey, Channel Islands to the Grand Massif because we love the area and all the activities that are on offer to enjoy. We look forward to welcoming you to our home and hope to make your stay a memorable one.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for a wonderful and relaxing holiday. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and the hosts accommodating. Our party of 7 (5 kids) really felt that nothing was too much trouble. Very much felt like we were staying with family.

Stunning in every way

  • 5 of 5

As a family we have just enjoyed the most relaxing holiday in years with John and Julie in Chatillon. The chalet is beautiful: the rooms are perfect, roomy, and all en-suite, with extremely comfortable beds. Views from the gorgeous living area are simply stunning. The very best thing for me as a working mum was the total break from drudgery. John and Julie catered for our difficult family (allergies/vegan) with flair, and all food prep and clearing up was done for us. To have a catered summer break was SO relaxing. The area itself has so much going on, from stunning walks, rafting and biking, and it's not far to the lakes at Annecy or Sallanches. Julie and John were helpful and knowledgable about local attractions too. All in all, we will be going back, summer and winter. Can't recommend highly enough. Jo Racle

Superb Chalet + Great Food + Lovely Owners

  • 4 of 5

John and Julie are professional, friendly, sociable and have excellent knowledge of the area and the ski runs.

The chalet is incredibly beautiful.

Upon arrival we were all taken aback by how beautiful it was, especially the open plan spacious ground floor.

The bed rooms are lovely, with plenty of storage and rustic furniture.

The dining area is next to a large patio door which overlooks stunning and uninterrupted views of the mountains.

At breakfast time there was a good selection and also a hot option available (the best scrambled eggs we had ever eaten).

In the afternoon there was a freshly made cake and tea / coffee waiting for us after we returned from the slopes.

The 3 course evening meals were delicious and very well thought out.

The hot tub overlooking the mountains was also a definite highlight.

We highly recommend Chalet Le Pery.

Fab Location, Great Hosts, Beautiful Chalet

  • 5 of 5

From the first moment John and Julie were welcoming and sensitive to what we wanted to get out of our Holiday. The property is perfect, comfortable as well as having stunning views. It is a short drive to a number of ski lifts and John was flexible about where and when we started and were collected from. The food was well prepared and tasty. The wine an beer was on tap and we always felt that we were welcome to 'make merry'. John and Julie have invested a lot of time understanding what the area has to offer and they are extremely helpful in being able to suggest the best the Grand Massif has to offer.

Warm welcome and a beautiful chalet

  • 5 of 5

This holiday exceeded expectations, it's a wonderful chalet with breathtaking views, very welcoming owners/hosts and great hospitality.

Its a fantastic ski area, that I know very well and we had probably the best week of the season with plenty of snow and sunshine!

John and Julie are great hosts, the chalet is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The food is lovely and the wine plentiful!

I'm hoping to go back in the next few weeks and will

certainly return next year!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this chalet to any of my friends and family.

ideal chalet for a perfect ski break

  • 5 of 5

This is second stay at Chalet le Pery and again I wasn't disappointed. The rooms are spotless and a decent size with modern bathrooms and the hot tub is very welcomed after a day on the slopes. John and Julie's hospitality is second to none and their food scrumptious. Although the chalet isn't right in a resort, your only every 10 minutes from the ski lift so wasn't an issue for us. Thank you for a such a lovely stay. Teresa x

Beautiful chalet for a luxurious break

  • 5 of 5

A friend recommended this chalet so I had high expectations - which were exceeded by far! i like my luxury and Chalet le Pery provides just that. The hosts, John and Julie were incredibly accommodating. Fizz on arrival meant I knew we were off to a good start!

I just loved my cosy but spacious room with a lovely bathroom and walk in shower. The slippers and robes are a wonderful touch to add to the feeling of luxury. Julie and John took the time to show us around the many beautiful slopes which we really appreciated. As somebody who has only skiied one before, I was grateful for their patience and help, puttung up with some beginner nerves.

After a day on the slopes, we were able to slip into the hot tub overlooking the majesty of snow peaked mountains and the twinkling village below.

Our sumptuous 3-course dinner was always served with plenty wine. We could retire to the lounge with after dinner tipples, where we could sit in front of the cosy crackle of the fire.

After waking up each morning to the beautiful view that the chalet benefits from, we were greeted with the wonderful smell of freshly percolated coffee and a breakfast that was varied enough for different tastes. There was always a new breakfast option cooked each day.

Our boots were kept warm on the boot warmers overnight and our hosts drove us to the resort of our choice in the morning, picking us up at the time of our choice in the afternoon. After a full day of skiing, we were greeted with a freshly baked delicious cake and hot drink (or in my case, a drop of wine). There was even a well stocked bookcase that I took advantage of as I had forgotten my kindle.

I would love to return to Chalet le Pery and think it would also be an idyllic Summer holiday for a bit of biking, white water rafting and mountain hiking.

Thank you for a luxurious break that has given me some beautiful memories.
