About Sarah and Andrew Bowley

The house offered has been our family house for nearly 10 years before moving away from the area. We couldn't bring ourselves to sell this lovely property in such a stunning location so have decided to offer the house as a holiday let.

Sarah and Andrew Bowley purchased this house in 2005

Why Sarah and Andrew Bowley chose Ashbourne

When moving to Ashbourne 10 years ago we fell in love with the beautiful country side and the historic town. This lead to a search for a property in a quiet location with easy access to explore the countryside and the shops, restaurants and bars of the historic town.

This house came up and was too good to miss out on so after purchasing it underwent a full restoration and small extension to make it the beautiful property it is today.

What makes this house unique

The location of this house is ideal for both walkers and explorers and also those looking for a holiday in an old historic town.

From the rear of the property you cant take a footpath which leads directly out into the beautiful countryside accessing Dovedale, the Tissington Trail and many other great walks.

If you fancy walking down into the historic town then it is well worth exploring all the little alley ways and paths leading into the centre. When in the centre you can find the old cobbled market square and an array of shops, restaurants and bars where the old meets the new with something for everyone.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully positioned, clean and comfortable. I loved the sound of the church bells , the friendliness of the Ashbourne community and the quick and easy walk into the village. The kitchen had everything I needed, down to the electric egg beater and kitchen scale. Having just relocated from South Africa we were touched by the gesture of a welcome note, complimentary wine and chocolates. All correspondence with Sarah the owner was quick, efficient and extremely helpful. I can highly recommend this home to anyone wishing to spend time in the beautiful Ashbourne. Thank you to Sarah and Clare for making us feel so welcome. Anita, Andrew and Matthew Turner

a nice little house just a few yards away from downtown Ashbourne, enough space for up to 5 people, very easy and helpful communication with the owners, everything is fine and there is an exceptional kitchen

Perfect location, loved it

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, quiet area but close to town and shopping. Wish we could have stayed longer. The home was cozy but comfortable and having two toilets was very nice. Owner immediately returned my text when we couldnt find something or we burned out a light bulb. Beds very comfortable. I would return here in a heart beat.

Great location, clean, comfortable, well equipped. Can't think how it could be any better really. Maybe more channels on the TV but not a big deal on holiday! Oh and a kitchen diner rather than separate dining room would be nice but overall excellent and we'll be happy to return!

A Lovely House

  • 5 of 5

Three friends and I enjoyed a wonderful walking week in the Southern Peaks. No 47 was an ideal place for us to stay. The house is spotlessly clean, modern, well equipped (there is even a rolling pin!) and a relaxing place for us to restore our batteries after a challenging day.

The kitchen is super and the dining room large and comfortable. The sitting room is a little small but the four of us did not find this a problem.

The beds are very comfortable. The weather was exceptionally hot while we were there so I took my own sheet and coverlet which worked fine. I, personally, find a duvet too warm in the very hot weather.

Sarah was extremely helpful in all my dealings with her. She left us new M & S bed linen which was lovely as we had a change of guests mid week

The house is a short walk to the Market Square were there are many pubs and restaurants to enjoy.

The house is thoroughly recommended. It is ideal for families, a beautiful double room, a good twin room and a single room for Granny!
