Shutta Park is a tastefully converted stone barn renovated by the owner in the late eighties to a very high standard with wood beams throughout wooden doubled glazed windows, full central heating and a woodburner. Shutta Park has been a holiday cottage for a few years and the owners have made many improvements over this time. The property is on two levels with a utility room which is accessed from the parking area. You then approach the living area via a set of stairs. There are 2 large bedrooms, one double and one twin. Available is a cot, high chair and fitted stair gate. There is a large entrance hall accessed via the patio area which leads you to the 2 bedrooms, large bathroom and toilet, kitchen, living/dining room. There is a large utility room with an extra toilet and plenty of storage for walking boots and to dry and air coats etc. There is a washing machine and freezer. The property has internet (Wi-Fi) access, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player. There is ample off road parking and secure lock up facilities for bikes or surfing equipment. Outside is a patio area with bench for enjoying an evening drink and watching the evening sunsets. At the top of the drive is the garden area with summerhouse and BBQ with bench and plenty of seating to enjoy those relaxing evenings taking in the scenery. You can see the sea from the garden. Behind the garden is open fields and pasture land. Shutta Park is within easy walking distance of the coastal path and the beach at Trebarwith Strand. The local area has many great eating places including The Port William which overlooks the beach where you can enjoy a drink watching the evening sun sets and The Mill House Inn where you can enjoy a meal in their restaurant.
We both feel privileged to have lived in Cornwall all our lives. Julie was born and brought up in the village of Treknow and can remember as a child when the utility room of Shutta Park was being used to milk cows in by her Aunt and prior to that her Grand Mother. Clive was brought up near the Moors and lived at Altarnun.
Shutta Park was converted into a home in the late eighties where they lived until 2008. The owners now live opposite in what was the old Church in Treknow. There was a family connection also as the Church was built by Julie's late Grand Father George Climo in 1929.
We enjoy meeting new guests and welcoming them into our home and sharing our Cornish knowledge and information.
Julie Sandercock purchased this barn in 1980
There was a family connection with Shutta Park as the owner's Grand Parents and then Aunt farmed there until the Seventies and it remained redundant then until planning permission was obtained to convert it into living accommodation. We love the area of Treknow as you are close to the coastal path for stunning views and walks and near to the beach at Trebarwith Strand. We enjoy many days swimming and enjoying the views, walking the beach and collecting muscles from the rocks to cook up and enjoy with a glass of wine! Trebarwith beach stretches almost a mile when the tide is out so there is plenty of space for everyone.
We feel that we offer very competitive rates and offer excellent value for money. Shutta Park is situated within easy walking distance of the coastal path with stunning views over Trebarwith Strand and the coast.
We have had a great week at Shutta Park. Julie you have a cottage to be very proud of! It's so clean and the extra touches of yummy cakes, chocolates and fresh flowers were really appreciated. Our pasty supper was wonderful, you are a good cook and wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back and will recommend you to all. We really will miss this special place!
A lovely, relaxing few days.
Everything, and I mean everything, you could possibly want is provided at Shutta Park to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Julie, the owner, made us feel very welcome and was within easy reach should there be any queries.
Altogether, a perfect break, just what was needed.
The property was perfect with everything we needed.
We had our best stay ever.
The cottage had everything to hand and felt like 'home from home' with every conceivable extra available. The location was quiet but easily accessible to all the local tourist attractions.
Julie and Clive were exceptional hosts, very hospitable, generous and friendly.
We will certainly return one day.
Exactly what we we're after, relaxation in a superbly clean cottage. Loved the fireplace, a real place to relax. Many thanks
We stayed here with our two children and it was the perfect place for an easy holiday. The location is great, in a quiet residential area, 10 minutes walk from the sea and about 20 minutes from Tintagel. There is a summer house just behind the house with a BBQ plus a small garden. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to all looking to escape crowds.
We had an amazing week stay in the lovely Shutta Park. It was like home from home. I have never been in a more comfortable, imaculate and well equipt self catering property. We were made to feel so welcome by the Julie & Clive. A lovely touch of Cornish goodies when we arrived, and such kindness allowing us to arrive early made our much needed holiday so special . We would love to return & have already recommended Shutta Park to all my friends and family. Thank you Julie & Clive!
