About Richard Taylor
I am 57 years and a retired Senior University Lecturer. I have spent holidays in the Polzeath / Rock area since the age of 2! and learned to swim at Daymer Bay as a 3 year old. This is a very special place and one can never tire of its timeless charm.
Richard Taylor purchased this Cabin in 2008
Why Richard Taylor chose Saint Minver
I purchased this property for its modern design, perfect location and accessibility to the very best that beautiful Cornwall has to offer.
What makes this Cabin unique
I love anything to do with the outdoors and the sea therefore this is my idea of heaven on earth. Long coastal walks, surfing at Polzeath, wreck diving, fishing, golf at the championship course at St Endoch, gastronomic food at Steins / Ainsworth's No6 and Nathan Outlaw's to name but a handful of the delights that this area has to offer. The adjacent St Minver Holiday Park offers additional utility such as a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna, restaurant and lounge bar with entertainment, Sky sports, kid's clubs and numerous other activities.

A very nicely maintained and spacious lodge which was well equipped in a nice quiet setting. A nice base for exploring beautiful Cornwall. If we are ever in Cornwall in the future we would definitely book this again.
Thanks for your kind review, much appreciated. Of course you would be more than welcome to come and stay again.
Well equipped & spacious lodge. In a beautiful part of Cornwall.
We stayed at the lodge in May 2018, family of 4. 2 adults & 2 children aged 4 & 7.The lodge itself was very nicely presented & allowed plenty of space for our family. There are many attractions within half an hour to an hours drive of the location. We really enjoyed port Isaac, tintagel castle, daymer bay beach & getting the ferry from rock over to padstow. We did not use the site facilities; swimming pool, bar etc so I cannot comment on those. We did find a lovely pub about a mile away called the pityme inn. We walked there taking the public footpath through farmers fields. The kids loved this little adventure & admiring the cows. Great food & kids outdoor play area. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We would definitely recommend & visit again!
Beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting
A very enjoyable stay in this very clean lodge. Had everything we needed. Lovely and peaceful in a tidy well cared for setting. A great place to unwind.
Would love to stay there again.
At the first day, we were a little bit disappointed, because the camping facilities was closed. So no hot tub, no shops, pub and swimming pool etc.
I didn't think about it before booked, but everything was clearly understandable after I realised, the mean sezon is over.
The property is absolutelly perfect. Everything worked properly, all of the deatels are accuratly elaborated. Warm and spacious.
That was the best choice for a relaxed holiday.
The owner nice and helpful. Well prepared property.
Thank you very much Richard
Thankyou so much for your generous comments, I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. Further to your point about the site facilities I have re-visited my property details and made it very clear that the swimming pool, sauna, clubhouse etc are open from Easter through to approximately November 6th and that they are not available over the Winter months.
Clean modern everything required for a nice holiday
Very nice and comfortable ideal location
Excellent location for exploring north Cornwall. Every thing you would expect.
Porthilly Cove (1.5 miles) is just around the corner from the Sailing Club at Rock.
Daymer Bay (1.5 miles) Great for wind surfers and for small children wanting to fish in the rock pools or play in the sand.
Polzeath Beach (3 miles) - Polzeath beach is a large expanse of beautiful sand ideal for surfers and beach enthusiasts. It is acclaimed as one of the best surfing beaches in the country.
Padstow - (2.5 miles by water taxi from Rock) Undeniably the gastronomic Capitol of Cornwall.
The use of a car is recommended in order to access the area fully. The nearest railway station is Bodmin Parkway about 15 miles away. Newquay airport is about 20 miles away.
Rock (1.5 miles) Padstow (2.5 miles, via water taxi from Rock) Polzeath (3 miles) Daymer Bay (1.5 miles) Port Issac, historic fishing village (7 miles) Newquay (12 miles) Bodmin (11 miles)
St Minver is well placed for easy access to local shops in Rock and Polzeath and the larger town of Wadebridge is 10 minutes away by car. Here there are a wider variety of shops, supermarkets and banks. The area is very well served for restaurants - Rick Stein has several in Padstow - we particularly enjoy The Waterfront and Café India in Polzeath, St Kew Inn and No 1 in Rock. Of course there are many others too numerous to mention. The ferry runs from Rock to Padstow all year and in the evening a water taxi is available to Padstow restaurants. Fishing and pleasure trips are run from the harbour. The Camel Trail (the old railway line) is fun for cyclists. It runs alongside the estuary from Padstow to Wadebridge and on to Bodmin and bikes can be hired locally. The quaint coastal village of Port Isaac (location for Doc Martin) is about 15 mins away by car. There are lots of things to do in the area - for example the Eden Project, Falmouth Maritime Museum and the legends of King Arthur at Tintagel.
