Candlelit Al fresco dining during those long hot summer evenings on one of the patio areas.
I live in England, work in Marketing, have no children but do have a pet dog who keeps me busy.
Most of my summer holidays are spent with my partner in NC but do love to travel away at weekends around the UK and long haul over the winter months where possible.
Love to return each year to NC to see old friends and meet new and enjoy the surroundings at the villa and all around.
lisa geary purchased this villa in 2005
I first went to NC in 2005 and really loved what I saw. Even a plot of land with foundations. So much so that I made the big decision of buying it. Something that I always aspired to do before I was 40. A dream goal became reality for me. And It was finished in under 12 months without any hitches.
NC offered so much that other places couldn't. Namely, the undeveloped aspect. Having holiday across Europe, here, it still gave the local feel with being over commercialised. Everything was on offer without being too vast. Unspoilt places deep with history, which I still learn more every time I visit. The beaches are never busy, nor are the roads apart from the main towns. All places are so easily accessible. There is always something going on for all ages.
The property is situated centrally so getting around is easy. A car is required. Exploring is so much fun. The villa sits at the top of the hill at the foot of the mountain. Fantastic for walking, cycling and bird watching. The nearest beach is just 10 minutes drive. There is a golf course within 30 minutes. For sun worshippers, the villa offers privacy and sun around the pool from early morning until early evening, when you can then move the lower patio area and watch the sun set.
Each side of the villa has something different – Pine forest, mountain backdrop, ravine and uninterupted view of Catalkoy, sea and on a clear day you can see Turkey mainland.
To the far side of the villa sits a small bungalow which is owned by a Turkish family who live on the mainland and holiday there
This villa is perfect for a relaxing holiday.set in beautiful gardens with amazing views.excellant facilities, tastesfully decorated and exceptionally clean throughout.we loved the villa so much it was an effort to drag ourselves away from the stunning pool.
Although you do need a car ,excellant restuarants are only 5 minutes drive away, and the local supermarket has a superb range of fish, meat and fresh produce for a barbeque.
Lisa the owner provided comprehensive details of all the villa facilities and local attractions and our stay was just perfect.we fully intend to book for next year as another villa would not compare to Villa Salanjie.
we really did have a perfect holiday Thank You!
Wow this Villa is in a lovely position up on the side of the hill with stunning backdrop of the mountains behind and uninterrupted views of the surrounding hillside and sea views . Its almost completely secluded.
The gardens and pool are fantastic with nice touches, there are plenty of seating areas and patios and surrounded by well established shrubs and palm trees . The pool is of a good size and has lovely blue lights for that night time pool dip . There is a stone built BBQ in the garden and with the ample seating area for that alfresco dinning experience . Inside is bright and airy with large rooms and large bedrooms, en suite shower rooms and a main bathroom ,all the rooms have good air con which is a must if your stay is in the summer months . The kitchen is well equipped and has all the mod cons . The owner has installed WIFI and there is also TV ,DVD,CD and phone speakers to use. There is also a large collection of DVDs and CD's to use should you need to use them . There is also a number of games etc if required . The pool is serviced regularly and the bedding and towels are taken and cleaned once a week .
I would recommend this Villa to anyone who is looking for a tranquil villa with stunning views and the privacy to match .
Myself and my family of six all adults had a fabulous stay and had no complaints .
There is lots to do in the area, some private beaches and the water park and swimming pool etc in the resort near by if you fancied a day out ! . There are loads of places to eat and drink around the area and all we tried where very nice and reasonably priced .
Having a car on hire here is a must to get around. There are supermarkets and fruit and veg stalls near too, so no problem if you like to do your own breakfast or dinner or BBQ .
I would rate this Villa Salanjie 10 out of 10 and we have been out to Kyrenia 3 times now and have had villas each time I will be re booking .
WOW..... What a wonderful place.... situated up in the hills of Northern Cyprus, at the foot of the mountains, the views are simply stunning.
The villa is tastefully decorated throughout, a real home from home ! Would highly recommend this villa as a great place to stay !!
You will not be disappointed,
Villa Salanjie is a very well appointed, luxury villa with all the mod cons and a little extra to make your stay even better.
The living area is open plan, extremely spacious and has fantastic views from all angles. The bedrooms are equally as spacious, with huge fitted wardrobes, plenty of drawer space and the upstairs bedrooms have gorgeous en suite shower rooms.
The gardens and terraces are simply beautiful and the lower terrace offers the perfect place to watch the sun rise and set. We found the pool to be warm enough and very welcome as we experienced some very, very hot days.
The villa itself is quite remote so car hire is a must but you're within about 10 minutes drive of a range of supermarkets, other shops, petrol stations etc with plenty of places to eat really good food.
Lisa made the booking process very simple and was happy to answer a myriad of questions beforehand.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable 2 weeks at Villa Salanjie and really hope we can return in the near future.
Thanks Lisa, it was a veritable pleasure.
My wife and I stayed at Villa Salanjie for a week at the end of August, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The villa itself is modern, spacious, and clean, and has every convenience that you could want for a relaxing holiday - including a water cooler (which was very useful, given the high temperatures whilst we were there)!
The pool is lovely, and the views from the patios are stunning. There are plenty of supermarkets and other amenities nearby, and also lots of great places to eat. The villa is within easy reach of lots of things to see and do (if you can pull yourself away from the pool!), but is also a wonderfully quiet place to relax if that's what you want to do, as it's up in the foothills of the mountains and only has one adjoining property (which is not always occupied, and is well screened so that it feels private).
It's also the many little things that make this place so special - for example, the complimentary umbrella and cool-box that you can take to the beach, or the folder containing lots of helpful information from the owner about the property and the surrounding area. You just get the impression that the owner really cares about making it a special place for people to stay at. The booking process was simple, and the owner was always helpful in providing information or answering questions before we travelled.
All in all, we had a wonderful holiday, and Villa Salanjie is a really special place. We hope to return again sometime in the near future!
My husband and I and our 6 month old baby stayed at Villa Salanjie this summer and we could not fault it. The villa is tastefully decorated and feels very homely from the moment you walk in. We were particularly delighted with how spacious it was and the views are simply breathtaking. The villa was equipped with all we needed and is within close proximity to many supermarkets. We will definitely rent this villa again when we are back in North Cyprus.
