My family stayed here 19th - 29th july and had the most amazing holiday ever! the villa is stunning, really well equipped and the views are stunning.

Loved being able to swim in pool at 1am x

Lovely private location, the only noise we heard was the crickets and the bells around the mountain goats.

We will definately be back. Thank you for letting us stay x

Feels like home...

  • 5 of 5

I don't have a swimming pool at home. I don't have the perfect view of the sea. I don't have warming sunshine every day. But somehow, stepping through the doors - this place immediately felt like coming home. With a perfect mountain backdrop, the villa has one neighbour - but the main strip is reached quickly by car - and don't be put off driving here either - it's really not as bad as other sites make out. Back in the villa - the bedrooms catch the sunrise and give you a pleasant way to begin the day. The bedrooms have more than enough space for your clothes. The kitchen has almost everything you need and anything else you need can be bought in the local shops - I recommend SAH Marketplace. Cost of living in NC is a lot lower than the south - petrol was 32c (28p) per litre cheaper and the roads are generally easy to get around. All in all - NC won me over and the villa was just the perfect place to be... Everyone we spoke to was friendly and helpful.

Stunning villa

  • 5 of 5

This villa is perfect for a relaxing holiday.set in beautiful gardens with amazing views.excellant facilities, tastesfully decorated and exceptionally clean throughout.we loved the villa so much it was an effort to drag ourselves away from the stunning pool.

Although you do need a car ,excellant restuarants are only 5 minutes drive away, and the local supermarket has a superb range of fish, meat and fresh produce for a barbeque.

Lisa the owner provided comprehensive details of all the villa facilities and local attractions and our stay was just perfect.we fully intend to book for next year as another villa would not compare to Villa Salanjie.

we really did have a perfect holiday Thank You!

wonderfull Villa Salanjie

  • 5 of 5

Wow this Villa is in a lovely position up on the side of the hill with stunning backdrop of the mountains behind and uninterrupted views of the surrounding hillside and sea views . Its almost completely secluded.

The gardens and pool are fantastic with nice touches, there are plenty of seating areas and patios and surrounded by well established shrubs and palm trees . The pool is of a good size and has lovely blue lights for that night time pool dip . There is a stone built BBQ in the garden and with the ample seating area for that alfresco dinning experience . Inside is bright and airy with large rooms and large bedrooms, en suite shower rooms and a main bathroom ,all the rooms have good air con which is a must if your stay is in the summer months . The kitchen is well equipped and has all the mod cons . The owner has installed WIFI and there is also TV ,DVD,CD and phone speakers to use. There is also a large collection of DVDs and CD's to use should you need to use them . There is also a number of games etc if required . The pool is serviced regularly and the bedding and towels are taken and cleaned once a week .

I would recommend this Villa to anyone who is looking for a tranquil villa with stunning views and the privacy to match .

Myself and my family of six all adults had a fabulous stay and had no complaints .

There is lots to do in the area, some private beaches and the water park and swimming pool etc in the resort near by if you fancied a day out ! . There are loads of places to eat and drink around the area and all we tried where very nice and reasonably priced .

Having a car on hire here is a must to get around. There are supermarkets and fruit and veg stalls near too, so no problem if you like to do your own breakfast or dinner or BBQ .

I would rate this Villa Salanjie 10 out of 10 and we have been out to Kyrenia 3 times now and have had villas each time I will be re booking .

Wonderful, spacious, luxury villa

  • 5 of 5

Villa Salanjie is a very well appointed, luxury villa with all the mod cons and a little extra to make your stay even better.

The living area is open plan, extremely spacious and has fantastic views from all angles. The bedrooms are equally as spacious, with huge fitted wardrobes, plenty of drawer space and the upstairs bedrooms have gorgeous en suite shower rooms.

The gardens and terraces are simply beautiful and the lower terrace offers the perfect place to watch the sun rise and set. We found the pool to be warm enough and very welcome as we experienced some very, very hot days.

The villa itself is quite remote so car hire is a must but you're within about 10 minutes drive of a range of supermarkets, other shops, petrol stations etc with plenty of places to eat really good food.

Lisa made the booking process very simple and was happy to answer a myriad of questions beforehand.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 2 weeks at Villa Salanjie and really hope we can return in the near future.

Thanks Lisa, it was a veritable pleasure.

About lisa geary

I live in England, work in Marketing, have no children but do have a pet dog who keeps me busy.

Most of my summer holidays are spent with my partner in NC but do love to travel away at weekends around the UK and long haul over the winter months where possible.

Love to return each year to NC to see old friends and meet new and enjoy the surroundings at the villa and all around.

lisa geary purchased this villa in 2005

Why lisa geary chose Çatalköy

I first went to NC in 2005 and really loved what I saw. Even a plot of land with foundations. So much so that I made the big decision of buying it. Something that I always aspired to do before I was 40. A dream goal became reality for me. And It was finished in under 12 months without any hitches.

NC offered so much that other places couldn't. Namely, the undeveloped aspect. Having holiday across Europe, here, it still gave the local feel with being over commercialised. Everything was on offer without being too vast. Unspoilt places deep with history, which I still learn more every time I visit. The beaches are never busy, nor are the roads apart from the main towns. All places are so easily accessible. There is always something going on for all ages.

What makes this villa unique

The property is situated centrally so getting around is easy. A car is required. Exploring is so much fun. The villa sits at the top of the hill at the foot of the mountain. Fantastic for walking, cycling and bird watching. The nearest beach is just 10 minutes drive. There is a golf course within 30 minutes. For sun worshippers, the villa offers privacy and sun around the pool from early morning until early evening, when you can then move the lower patio area and watch the sun set.

Each side of the villa has something different – Pine forest, mountain backdrop, ravine and uninterupted view of Catalkoy, sea and on a clear day you can see Turkey mainland.

To the far side of the villa sits a small bungalow which is owned by a Turkish family who live on the mainland and holiday there

Special interest holidays:

The area is well known for walking and cycling holidays.

Further details can be requested.

An array of watersports are available.

Several beaches and coves are within 10 minute drive. Shayna Beach club with bar and lively open air restaurant. Diana Beach cove with sandy beach and water sports. Alagadi Beach with long stretches of sand, turtle watching and safe swimming make it a perfect family location. They have a great beach restaurant offering local and European cuisine.

The best beach experience is at the Karpaz Peninsular - take an overnight trip.

The lovely beach at Famagusta is a lovely day trip - 1 hour away

If flying via Turkey to Ercan, the airport is approx 40 minutes drive to Villa.

If flying to Larnaca, the transfer time is approx 1 hour to Villa

Car hire and airport transfer can be recommended and can offer favourable rates.

Historical Bellapais Abbey is a 10 minute drive from the villa.

Catalkoy Village and Ozankoy Village are just 5 minutes drive away, both with recommended restaurants and bars.

The 'Fez', (the local)a popular bar/restaurant offering live music and Sky TV - you will pass by on the way to villa - 10 minutes

Kyrenia Harbour steeped with history and picturesque is a 10 minute drive, with great restaurants including fresh fish! It's a must.

The shops, bizarre and local cafes next to the harbour.

Further Details:

There are excellent supermarkets all open 7 days a week, early until late, offering English/European produce within 10 minutes drive.

At the bottom of the hill you will find a very large local vegetable stall with every fresh produce you can wish to find and it really costs you a fraction of the supermarket prices - very popular.

English speaking pharmacies, delicious fresh bread bakery, ATM and DVD shop.

Cyprus has a wonderful climate, one of the best in the Mediterranean so a great destination far beyond the summer months.

There are three Crusader Castles to visit in the mountains and one at picturesque Kyrenia harbour,

A visit to Nicosia for the day is a must do. Take in a Turkish bath at the only roman bath remains, shop in the bazars and take in the historical sites on route or walk around the upmarket shops and stop for a sidewalk break in one of the many cafes.

The best thing to do is try and see for yourself - you won't be disappointed.
