Why Eleanor B chose Cheshire West & Chester

The Pheasants Nye offers the romantic ideal of a country house at the end of a private drive. It is private yet accessible and the views from the terrace are stunning.

I love that you can step onto all walks and pathways of the sandstone trail and find some award winning pubs and eateries along the way.

A perfect stay at The Pheasants Nye.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a perfect stay at The Pheasants Nye.

As all the other reviews say it completely exceeded expectations - from the warm and helpful arrival to the relaxing chic design.

Everything is organized perfectly. The walks from the door are outstanding and coming back to the comforts of the cottage was like coming back to a 5 star hotel.

The house is very well equipped so we ended up staying in to cook and eat around the kitchen table rather than going out, although we did try a gastro pub recommended to us The Cock O Barton which was superb!

With six of us it’s great all the rooms are ensuite - there is even an extra cloakroom with a fabulous hand carved stone sink! The laundry room was a great addition and really useful to dry boots and jackets.

We loved everything about this place and can’t wait to return.

Idyllic hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed three nights at Pheasants Nye and had a splendid stay. I was met on arrival by Ellie who was very helpful and provided a quick tour of the house and gave useful advice on walks and places to see. She kindly provided a second key so that different groupings could do different activities. The house is extremely well-appointed with modern fixtures of a very high standard. We were extremely comfortable. The situation is very peaceful in the woods on the Shropshire/Cheshire border. We had friends on the Llangollen Canal and it was a good base to meet with them. We enjoyed a walk from the door through the woods. Visits to Bunbury, Chester, Nantwich and Tarporley were also enjoyable and interesting. Overall it was an excellent stay at a beautiful house.

Amazing weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights. Was met on arrival by Ellie who was just so helpful and warm, gave us loads of tips of where to go for days out an walks and was always close by if we had any problems, which we didn't as the whole stay was absolutely perfect.

The cottage it self was stunning, very modern and so cosey with the log fire. The beds are to die for, mattresses that are extremely comfy. The location is perfect, so many walks and beautiful scenery, little country pubs near by. Very pet family, and the dogs loves the grounds around the cottage with all the wild life.

Couldn't fault a single thing with our stay, the only two things that could make this an even more amazing stay would be a different sofa as it's quite uncomfortable and not very romantic under the log fire and a hot tub in the garden, but that's me being fussy :)

Thank you so much for an amazing weekend!!

A jewel in the Chesire crown

A LITTLE PIECE OF HEAVEN

The photos, as other reviewers have mentioned are beautiful but they don't

truly capture how stunning this house is.

The setting is magical down its very own private lane. It is romantic in every aspect and the small touches dotted around the house make for a very special and relaxing stay.

There are throws to cuddle up under and the wood burner warms the whole house.

There are even fire braziers outside if you feel like sitting under the stars.

The sound of pheasants on the lawn in the morning was delightful and the children loved it. Walking straight from the cottage onto beautiful trails with no need to set foot on a road was a rare treat .

We ordered in local produce - all of which was delivered and packed away for our arrival - even the wood burner was lit!

The owner has every detail covered and is helpful attentive and clearly understands about luxury!

Reservations were made for us, drivers and taxis booked and everything taken care of without fuss or hassle.

The only difficulty was leaving! A 5 star gem as others have said.

Stunning cottage, stunning location....

  • 5 of 5

Pheasants Nye is an immaculate and very stylish cottage located perfectly for long scenic walks.

Ellie (the owner) is extremely welcoming and offers great advice regarding the surrounding area and fantastic places to try locally reared produce.

We had such a wonderful few days at the cottage and highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and tranquility, enjoyable walks in a beautiful location but not too far from fantastic gastro pubs for fabulous cuisine.

Most definitely 5 star rating!

Absolutely perfect

  • 5 of 5

This place is everything you could want if you look for peace, tranquility, high end accommodation in a beautiful area. It is quiet. It is spotlessly clean (more so than any other place I have stayed in ten years of renting cottages). Everything is of the highest standard - the linens are sent out for professional cleaning, for example. There is none of the chipped crockery or worn furniture that you can sometimes find in cottages listed as five stars. The owner is on top of everything, answering questions within minutes and is very helpful on the local area. The rabbits and pheasants in the beautifully kept gardens were a joy for my children to watch. The internet is fast and reliable. Two stair cases/wings give you a little family privacy. All in all, this is better than you'd wish for and the photos, while nice, don't even reflect just how stunning it all is. Sandstone trail walks give you stunning views of the Cheshire countryside and the trail starts in the garden. Chester (Roman city) within half an hour. Crewe station gives you a 1.5 hour train ride to London and is in an easy 25 minute car drive down lovely country lanes. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay.
