About the property

Barn in Bissoe, Nr. Truro, Cornwall, England

The barn was completely renovated in 2014 and upstairs it offers a new fully-equipped kitchen-diner and large lounge with vaulted ceilings and views over the surrounding countryside. Downstairs there are two bedrooms- a King and a twin, which can be joined to form a super-king bed on request. There is also a new modern bathroom with an extra-wide bath. Outside there is ample private parking, small garden and seating area. BBQ. Fernleigh Barn is situated on the edge of the owner’s small-holding and is run in an ecologically-responsible fashion. Central heating and hot water is supplied by a Biomass pellet boiler (Renewable heat generation). The electricity supply is from 100% renewable resources. High chair, travel cot and stair gate on request. Children are welcome. No pets. Outside tap for rinsing off beach things and surf boards/kayaks. Super-fast free WIFI. Welcome pack and photo book of local attractions.

About Alistair and Gabrielle Lockwood

We run the holiday barn as part of our smallholding. We both work and have a family. We live on site so are available to solve any problems or give advice whilst you are staying with us. We however also want to allow you the privacy and peace to enjoy your holiday to its full potential.

We pride ourselves on the welcome, quality of the property and the upkeep of the barn. We welcome feedback and are very keen to continue improving the barn and what we offer you.

The barn is centrally positioned half way between the north and south coasts. Falmouth on the south coast is 15 mins drive as are most of the north coast beaches.

We also are located half way between Truro and Falmouth and can easily access both with a local train line and easy road links.

Notes:
Their is a private garden with private parking and gate that closes to the road. The outdoor furniture and close proximity to the smallholding animals makes this space feel personal and private and part of the holiday experience.

A lovely cottage, beautifully decorated in a stunning location!

The cottage is spacious, very clean & homely and we had a wonderful time with our 2 small children. Al & Gabi were extremely helpful with recommendations of places to visit & location area information. There are lots of beautiful beaches in the area & great family activities nearby. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful location!

Peaceful escape

Peaceful location and extremely well equipped barn conversion. Modern fixtures.

Bedrooms downstairs with huge open living room with views of the countryside.

Central location made it easy to access Cornwalls north and south coasts. The owners provided local information and photos of places to visit and we hope to return as we were unable to get to Perranporth on this occasion.

A peaceful and comfortable barn!

We enjoyed our staying in the barn. It was more than what we had expected for a holiday house. Alistair was very friendly and thoughtful to us. Thanks for providing us the stair gate! The welcome pack is very nice. My kids loved it too. Definitely recommend it!

A beautiful holiday cottage that is cared for and will make your stay in Cornwall just perfect

Alistair and Gabi are wonderful hosts of this holiday cottage. Upon arrival we experienced a lovely welcome. We were made to feel at home, and given timely and useful hints about places to visit etc, which made the holiday great. We had fresh eggs left for us from their hens as well as some local food, which emphasised the point of being located in Cornwall! The cottage is wonderfully situated so that you can easily spring off into different parts of Cornwall very easily. Our children loved visiting the cottage also and benefitted from being surrounded by countryside.

The cottage has been decorated beautifully and fitted with all the necessary modern equipment that will help you have an easy stay. The thought put into the cottage is very telling throughout and really makes this the perfect cottage break in West Cornwall. We look forward to returning again in the future.

Lovely cottage with beautiful countryside views

A pretty cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage is very comfortable and the upstairs living area really takes advantage of the beautiful countryside views. Al and Gabi are very friendly and helpful and the welcome hamper that greeted us on our arrival was very generous, including eggs from their hens and homemade scones. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

CHECK-IN TIME is AFTER 3 P.M. AND CHECKOUT is 9 A.M.
This is a strictly NON SMOKING property.
PETS are not permitted
A security deposit of £100 is required. This must be received within five (5) days of booking the holiday property. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met.
• No damage is done to property or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
• No charges are incurred due to illegal activity, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
• All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in rubbish bin, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned.
• All keys are left on the keylock and unit is left locked.
• No linen is lost or damaged.
• No early arrival or late departure.
Nothing has blocked the septic tank plumbing.
• The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or the local law enforcement.
An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required at booking. The advance payment will be applied toward the rent. The advance payment is not a security deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due thirty (30) days before your arrival date.
CANCELLATIONS - A forty (40) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than forty (40) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 40 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.
The maximum number of guests is limited to four (4) adult persons. Young children could be in addition to this if the guests are prepared for the children to not sleep on one of the beds provided. No additional guests are permitted without prior discussion with the owners.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
