Situated in the much sought after hamlet of Bonchurch, Longwood Edge is 150 yards away from the ever popular Bonchurch Inn. Just a short stroll down the hill you will find the pretty pond and The Pond Cafe serving light lunches. The Victorian town of Ventnor is a 20 minute walk where you will find many pubs and restaurants offering everything from pub grub to fine dining. All the main tourist attractions on the island can be reached within half an hour. There are stunning costal walks on our doorstep including the unspoilt beach of Bonchurch which is a 5 minute walk away.

Notes on accommodation: The house is accessible via 18 steps and therefore children may need to be supervised on the terrace and other outside spaces. Outside: 2 sides of the property are covered by a beautiful deck, the front deck has a picnic bench and is an enclosed area. There is a large garden to the side of the house with a bench which has the sun all day. The garden is perfect for your pooch. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are provided and changed weekly but you will need to bring your own beach towels.

Totally gorgeous property. Cosy and warm, especially when lit the log burner, then super hot.

This property is gorgeous and the views are wonderful even in February. There were four of us adults , plus our two dogs, staying for a long weekend, a Birthday present to our dear friend who turned fifty in November last year. First time for me and husband to have a break without children who are now young adults. Longwood Edge has it all, lovely open plan kitchen/ dining area and sitting room with wonderful sea views on veranda. Also the beds were so comfortable, we all slept well and want to know where Catherine bought them from.

A Hidden Gem!

Having stayed for 3 nights at Longwood Edge, we were very sad to leave this beautiful cabin style accomodation, hidden in Bonchurch, which is a beautiful little hamlet, housing that of two beautiful little Churches, a pub, and a lovely little tea room over looking a pond, set in a very quiet and relaxing area of the Isle of Wight, and a stone throw away from the beach, which was an easy walk. Longwood edge is a beautiful cabin style accomodation, with two open verandas, the front one looks out to sea, and the second looks out to the private secluded garden,. The interior is very well executed with style and flair, two lovely bedrooms, all beds were very comfortable, the bathroom is large in size, and had all amenities required. The living area and kitchen was open planned, with a very attractive wood burner, cute and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped for those who wish to stay in and cook. Our stay was fabulous, we loved the house, it's attractive, and very welcoming, a home from home, a hidden Gem, we highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be returning.

Excellent accommodation and facilities

We had a wonderful stay at Longwood. Great location and accommodation with all the facilities you need and lots of thoughtful extras. Very nice owner who was always very helpful. Woukd highly recommend it.

A comfortable, clean and stylish property.

Longwood Edge is well equipped and has been thoughtfully and stylishly renovated in a cabin style. The shower (by which we often rate accommodation) is huge and the flow is strong. Full marks. The view down to Bonchurch beach is lovely but, be warned, it's a steep walk down and then back up. Take the car to the car park if you don't feel up to it! We liked the extras that were provided; such as hand wash and lotion, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, jcloths etc. The accommodation was warm, so warm that we didn't need log burner but maybe, over the winter, it would be lovely to use it. We found the drive a little awkward but managed. Overall, Longwood Edge was as described and we had a pleasant stay.

Wonderful holiday home with sea views

We had a perfect 7 days at Longwood Edge. The veranda, partially covered, partially uncovered, with sea views, will be sadly missed. The weather was so good that we did not light the lovely log burner. The kitchen catered for our every need. The large walk-in shower was great. Bonchurch, on the outskirts of Ventnor, is a beautiful spot with its duck pond and hillside location. We will definitely return.

Coast/Beach:

Ventnor's award winning beach is a 5 minute drive. From Ventnor you can walk to beautiful Steephill Cove which remains unspoilt. The beach in Bonchurch and Wheelers Bay are on our doorstep.

Travel:

To get to the Isle of Wight you need to catch a ferry. Wightlink go from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Leamington to Yarmouth. Red funnel travel from Southampton to East Cowes. Bonchurch is only a 20-25 minute drive from either port. London is only a 75 mile trip to Portsmouth.

Further Details:

Ventnor's pubs, cafes, bakery, butcher and fishmonger are a 5 minute drive. There is also a Tesco Metro, Sainsbury's and Waitrose deliver.
