A modern Vendee style 4-bedroom villa with garage, within its own private gated development. Large front and rear garden with a heated pool, close to sandy beaches, shops and historic town of St Jean de Monts. Outdoor dining and lounging furniture (normally stored in garage) provided for your use, and built in garden barbecue. Boules playing area in the rear garden. It is part of the Domaine de Vertmarines, a development of holiday rental and private homes in a beautifully maintained landscaped setting and direct access to the large forest adjacent to the Domaine. The forest is vast and has many cycle tracks where you can explore other towns along the coast, including St. Hilaire-de-riz, St. Gilles, Notre Dame de Monts, and many more.
The town of St Jean de Monts is close by for all amenities, such as, bank, bakery, chemist and small boutique shops, along with a large outdoor market on a Wednesday and Saturday and an indoor market held every day.
Saint-Jean-de-Monts is renowned for its sandy beach, more than eight kilometres long. Due to its often low tides, it offers a great area for walkers, fishermen, and beach games and sports. St Jean de Monts has several glorious beaches which include the Plage Central, the Plages des Demoiselles to the south and the Plage de la Tonnelle to the north. The beach widens out to a glorious stretch of fine sand and there are 7 stations de surveillance along the commercial stretch of beach. There are all of the facilities that you would expect to find at a large commercial beach and nearby are numerous activities including many water sports, golf (links course) just a few minutes away at St Jean de Monts and a further couse near St. Gilles, mini golf, horse riding (just two minute drive from the villa) etc etc. The area boasts the highest number of sunshine hours in the whole of France.
The town is noteworthy for the recent restoration of its seafront, a vast town planning operation taking over five years to complete. The successful result now means a network of footpaths and cycle tracks are enhanced by an array of plants, flowers and shrubs. The predominantly flat terrain has allowed for the development of a vast 500 km² network of cyclepaths, known as the Sentiers Cyclables de la Vendée. These paths stretch from the island of Noirmoutier in the north, south past Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie. Jean-de-Monts is one of the most popular resorts in the Vendée and is within easy access of many attractions, including the little town of St Gilles Croix de Vie, a 20 minute drive away, with its quirky little tourist shops, old-style carousel and gorgeous ice cream, ideal for summertime evening strolls. The Island of Noirmoutier is a short boat trip, where you can walk along the beaches of Noirmoutier and enjoy the surrounding areas. Where’s the world’s best theme park? Orlando? Tokyo? Walt Disney World? Or in a little corner of the Vendée in France, tucked between the cities of Nantes and La Rochelle? Puy du Fou — a historical theme park complete with full reenactments and shows — is an interesting day trip. In 2012 Puy du Fou carried off the top theme park prize in the theme park Oscars, the Thea Awards, in Los Angeles for its creativity, quality and originality. Although the Puy du Fou theme park has no rides, it is far from short on spectacular experiences. It’s now the second most visited theme park in France, after Disneyland Paris.
