The Grain Store, Stancombe Manor, Nr. Kingsbridge, South Devon - Rural Location, part of a country estate, 4 miles from Kingsbridge, and close to numerous beaches
The Grain Store is a comfortable, light and airy converted stone barn situated on a lovely 21 acre country estate. Close to award winning beaches, stunning coastal walks and a wide array of activities including numerous water-sports all within 15-20 mins drive. It makes an ideal setting for family holidays or special gatherings.
The Grain Store offers families and groups a high standard of accommodation across 3 large bedrooms (1 ground floor), all with en-suite bathrooms, and a further separate ground floor cloakroom. White Company bedlinen is provided and a well behaved pet is welcome subject to prior discussion with the owner. White Company Towels are provided for stays of 5 nights and more - for shorter lets there is a supplement of £5pp.
The property benefits from a large, open plan kitchen, lovely dining, living space with double height ceilings and solid wood flooring. Wifi has been installed in Q1 2018.
The kitchen was installed new in Spring 2016 and benefits from new appliances throughout including dishwasher, Neff gas hob and oven and microwave oven, full height fridge freezer and Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a washing machine located in the downstairs cupboard. The sitting room has large flat screen T.V with freesat, DVD player and iPod compatible sound system.
There is private parking for 2 cars at the front of the property and an outside space with dining table, chairs and Weber BBQ which captures the afternoon and evening sun, ideal for alfresco dining and bbq's.
The popular estuary towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth are close by and offer excellent water-sport facilities and an array of interesting shops, delis and restaurants including 2 supermarkets. The neighbouring village of Frogmore has an excellent bakery/village shop/post office and pub, whilst Chillington village which is only a little further away has a health centre, pub and a few more shops.
The property can sleep 10 in total:
Upstairs king - 2;
Upstairs twin - 2 in the twin beds + 2 in a full size double mattress day bed;
Downstairs king - 2 in the king bed + 2 in full size single chair beds.
Please note - the price quoted is for a 'core' capacity of 6, additional beds carry a £25pp supplement.

We live in a small village in Buckinghamshire with our two young children having moved out from London in 2010. We offer a warm welcome to all of our guests and hope you enjoy spending time at the house and in the beautiful South Hams.

We bought The Grain Store just before Christmas in 2014 as a place to spend some quality family time and share with guests, friends and family all the benefits that Stancombe and the South Hams bring. The facilities on the Stancombe estate mean it has something to offer all year round and its location means you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside on the estate but be only a short drive from the water, beaches and nearby towns.

A beautiful barn in a stunning setting
The accommodation is beautiful and very well appointed with quality items. The activities of tennis, golf and swimming were so popular with our sons, who loved it.
The games room is directly beneath the barn and this may benefit from some kind of insulation, as noise from it was loud at times, although this may not bother some guests.
Stunning Accommodation and Location
After a full day of sightseeing, relaxing by the beach and a (large) pub lunch this beautiful property was perfect to relax with a glass of wine and unwind.
We have a 11 month old child and the facilities were perfect. Highly recommended and thanks so much for a wonderful break, we shall be returning!

Lovely spacious property with shared games room

Great property with access to downstairs games room via stairwell. lots of games & activities to do including swimming. Great walks pins & beaches nearby.
Coast/Beach: Torcross and Slapton are the nearest beaches on the A381 about 10 mins by car and Blackpool sands about 20 mins. They are shingle beaches, whilst the sandy beaches of East Portlemouth, (opposite Salcombe) North and South Sands, Hope Cove, Thurlestone, Bantham and Bigbury are about 30 mins by car. Travel: The nearest airports are located in Exeter and Plymouth. Totnes is the nearest railway station. Distances: 10 minute drive to Kingsbridge, 20 minute drive to Salcombe and Dartmouth. Further Details: Excellent Bakery in Frogmore (5 mins away) and an additional very well provisioned local shop in East Allington (7 mins away) Large Tescos and Morrisons in Kingsbridge (10 mins away) which also has excellent restaurants, bars, delis and numerous independent shops and banks to be explored. There is also a great cinema.

Additional beds (chair and daybeds) are subject to a £25.00 surcharge to cover bed-linen and assembly costs from the Housekeeper. Towels are provided for all stays of 5 nights and above - for shorter lets there is a supplement of £5pp. Changeover Day: this is Saturday in peak season with check out at 10 am and arrivals from 4pm. In off peak this can be varied with prior arrangement.
