About Jonathan and Christine Dodd
We are Christine and Jonathan Dodd and we are lucky to live in Hilton, Dorset, with our 3 sons and an idiotic, friendly dog called Dexter, who survived a fall of 125ft from 'Old Harry' in 2008...much to our huge relief! Ever since we moved into Hilton village we dreamed about investing in a property to holiday let. It took us 14 years to get there - but we did it! We look forward to sharing our lovely cottages, friendly village and stunning countryside with our guests. We spent 2014 renovating our cottages to what we hope our guests will think is a high standard. We are a short walk away from the cottages so we are around if you need anything or want some advice on the local area. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Best regards, Jonathan and Christine

Why Jonathan and Christine Dodd chose Hilton
We have lived in the village since 2000 and still love it to pieces. We love the staggering beauty of the village and surrounding area which is fantastic for walking, running (as Jonathan likes to do) and cycling. Hilton is a truly rural location, as far as you can get from an 'A' road, anywhere in Dorset, situated between the market towns of Blandford Forum and Dorchester We think we have the best of both worlds; the wild rural retreat but within 25 minutes of the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Our sons adore the open fields and woodland that surrounds us - often disappearing for hours on end making dens and the like.
What makes this Cottage unique
Warm, cosy, characterful cottages set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Ideally situated for exploring the whole of Dorset. The cottages are over 200 years old but both have been lovingly renovated with all modern conveniences including modern heating, wood burning stoves and lovely bathrooms (with bath and shower). The cottages have lovely meadow views to the rear and a 15C church less than a minutes walk away. Lovely walks and cycle rides straight from the doorstep for all abilities and the spectacular Milton Abbey is at the end of the valley, just a mile away.

Cosy, comfortable cottage, like home from home.
Kitty's cottage is in a beautiful, quiet village. This was our second stay at the cottage as we enjoyed our first so much. The front door opens into a cosy living room with wood burner. That leads through to a dining area, and a light, bright, very well equipped kitchen. Outside there is a small gravel courtyard which leads to a games room with a pool table, and great views out of the large windows. A place to sit and relax - which we did! Upstairs, the bedrooms are roomy and very comfortable. The cottage is immaculately clean and well maintained.
Jonathan and Christine had made us feel very welcome by leaving a welcome package of a delicious lemon drizzle cake. The information about local walks is comprehensive and we found it to be very useful. We used the information to guide our walk to Milton Abbas - a gorgeous little village, next to the grand buildings of Milton Abbey School. If we needed Jonathan and Christine at any time, we felt well able to contact or go and knock on their door. We would highly recommend Kitty's Cottage for a holiday. It is a good location to visit the attractions in Dorset.
We are heading back this year too!
Thanks heaps Susan. We are so lucky to have such lovely guests. We look forward to welcoming you back this May :)
Gorgeous Dorset countryside
We absolutely adored the area and were able to relax in front of a lovely fire at night. The cottage is small but was perfectly adequate for us - a family with two young boys and a huge dog. Thanks for the yummy cake!
Very comfortable and surprisingly spacious
We stayed at Kitty's Cottage for three nights on the way down to Cornwall and found it a really enjoyable, comfortable place to stay.
Even though we had four adults and a toddler squeezed into a small cottage, it didn't feel like we were treading on each others' toes: the cottage itself is surprisingly roomy and the charming snug at the back means that you have more than one living area to loaf around in. The master bedroom is particularly lovely, with a huge cosy bed, and had plenty of room for our travel cot.
We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area, particularly walking through the leafy lanes in the village, visiting the church at the end of the lane, and tramping around the meadow and woodland at the back. We had an excellent meal at the Fox Inn up the road too.
All in all, it's a quiet, gentle little spot, and the welcome is very warm (lovely cake!). We enjoyed it a great deal.
