Luxurious and gorgeous, relaxed and welcoming, The Yard is our most recently renovated self-catering holiday let and is perfect for big birthday celebrations, special occasions or the best excuse for a long and overdue reunion.

We’re super-duper proud of The Yard, which has been transformed in less than a year from a disused fold yard, granary and open wagon sheds into fantastic modern holiday accommodation for up to 16 people.

With underfloor heating and huge en-suited rooms, The Yard has got all the latest mod cons but maintains the farm building’s traditional charm and features, such as wooden beams and vaulted ceilings.

Group holidays are all about chats, laughter and quality food, so we’ve created a truly sociable space with the spacious living room and dining room sharing a double–sided wood burner, alongside a generous open kitchen.

Six ensuite bedrooms are divided between king-sized, doubles and twins, with all beds at a minimum of 5ft. We’ve also installed a biomass burner to heat The Yard, so we can ensure that the house is always warm with plenty of hot water.

Tailored for adults, The Yard has a large indoor luxurious swim spa seating 12 people that opens out onto a beautifully landscaped walled garden and patio through bifold doors. This is adjoined by a games room with pool table, TV and sound system which also opens out onto the walled garden and patio area with outdoor furniture and gas BBQ.

Sherburn village lies between the market town of Malton and the seaside resort of Scarborough in the Vale of Pickering. There is a village pub, fish and chip shop and village store. A farm bakery, teashop and a farm shop are all close by.

Notes on accommodation: This is a very spacious property and we are going the extra mile with luxury features such as the swim spa, king sized beds and 2 5ft beds in the twin rooms, however 2 of the double rooms are slightly smaller and maybe more suitable sleeping 1 person in each, this completely depends on your party. Outside: Large walled garden with patio area, outdoor furniture and gas BBQ. Accessible through French windows from the room housing the large indoor, heated swim spa or through an additional door in the main property. There is another large patio area out side the front doors near the kitchen, ideal for a morning coffee. Utility Room: Accessible through the house equipped with washing machine and tumble dryer. Extension attached to the living accommodation housing a games room with pool table, TV and sound system. Large indoor swim spa seats 12 or used for exercise against a training jet with French windows leading out onto the walled garden and patio area.

In the words of my grandchildren 'Awesome'!

There were 12 of us ranging from 4 to 75 and everyone had a brilliant time, We were so pleased that we increased our original booking of one week to two.

Just one little thing, as has been said before, the 2 bedrooms near the utility room were hot even with the fans. Perhaps if the windows opened it would have helped. The lounge was superb and even with us all in it we weren't crowded. We all slept well in the comfortable beds and having en-suites in every bedroom was so good. Of course the hot tub was what everyone enjoyed the most and they were in it every evening and the children in the afternoons as well.

Molly was helpful and her biscuits on arrival went down a treat. The traffic noise didn't bother us after the first couple of days. The little shop round the corner was welcome for the bits and pieces that we forgot to buy.

Brilliant spacious comfortable property, with all mod cons, unfussy decor, and ensuite facilities.

On arrival, we were most impressed with the high standard of decor and fittings. My family were all congratulating me on my choice of holiday house! We loved the clever conversion of the old buildings.

Also liked the lovely enclosed gardens with attractive planting (for wildlife and us)! And the amazing hot tub!

Wonderful obliging, helpful owner, not at all intrusive.

Lots to do for all of us, ages range from 2 years to 71....!

We hope to return another year.

Fabulous place

Beautiful buildings well kitted out and furnished, absolutely huge, 12 of us had bags of room. Absolutely loved the party swim spa (as other reviewers have said it's better to have the doors open). As we were there just for the weekend we didn't have much time for exploring the area, but it's only half an hour to Scarborough (we went on the bus!) and the Dawnay Arns in West Heslerton (5 mins drive) does excellent food.

Great place for a family party!

Wonderful property furnished to a very high standard. The open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen was magnificent with glass doors onto the garden. Rather a wet week (!) therefore we didn't get very much walking in but the pool table and spa got plenty of use!

An excellent area for walkers with the Wolds Way running close by and the North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest just a short drive. The stunning Heritage coastline has cliff top walks and miles of sandy beaches.


Easily accessible by car, located just off the A64.


Sherburn village lies between the market town of Malton (13 miles) and the elegant seaside resort of Scarborough (11 miles). The historical town of York is only a 45 minute drive or if you prefer a more rural setting the North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest are just a short drive away.

Further Details:

Village pub, shop and fish and chip shop (30 yards), a farm bakery and teashop (1 mile), where everything is made on site and a farm shop (1/2 mile) selling home reared produce and award-winning sausages. Weaverthorpe village is a 5 minute drive and boasts 2 lovely pub/restaurants. Dalby Forest is a short drive away and has fantastic facilities and activities such as mountain biking and GoApe.
