Spacious Luxury Cottage -The Bay, Filey, Yorkshire, Peaceful Location-15 Minutes To Beach. FREE Superfast WIFI

The Anchor is a beautifully designed luxury cottage with plenty of space for two families*!!!! We offer unlimited super fast broadband and TVs throughout the house. The house is on a quiet part of an award winning holiday village of which guests can use the amenities including the free indoor heated pool and gym.

*We do offer a sofa bed for when we accommodate 8 guests (bedding for the sofa bed isn't provided) and we can only accommodate 6 adults maximum - it isn't practical and we don't want you to be disappointed.

All stays include luxury bedding (for the 5 main beds) - not the sofa bed) and luxury towels (6 hand, 6 bath as well as kitchen and bathroom towels) provided on arrival.

***new as of October 2017 - luxury pocket sprung mattresses on all beds***

NEW - February 2018 - The Bay Holiday Village has just opened an adventure playground which is free for guests to use.

In the summer 2018, the Bay will have an indoor family centre - ideal for those rainy days.

The house features:

Kitchen / Dining - a very large, fully fitted contemporary style free flowing kitchen with all integrated appliances and large dining area with spacious dining table and seating for 6 people (with additional stools to seat 10 total), wall mounted TV and 2 seater pull out sofa bed. In addition, we supply a separate drinks fridge for entertaining!

The house also features a spacious separate living room (unique to this property type on the whole development) with 6 seater leather corner sofa, BT HUB, Console Wiring and Armchair. We also offer a TV/DVD and large games /DVD selection.

Upstairs there are three generous sized bedrooms:

The main bedroom has a king size bed, sofa, dressing table and stool and TV/DVD mounted on the wall as well as a large wardrobe and bedside storage.

There are two twin bedrooms each with large built-in wardrobes, drawer units and LCD TV.

All bedrooms (from November 2017) benefit from superb luxury pocket spring mattresses.

The bathroom is a family bathroom with a shower over bath, cabinet, WC and heated towel rail - ideal for drying your clothes after a day at the pool or beach.

We also offer a large landing with additional storage.

Outside, accessed by French doors from both the dining room or living room, there is a large patio area with brick built BBQ, table and seating for 8 people.

Our house offers a long wheelchair entrance ramp which is ideal for prams/pushchairs.

We supply a cot and highchair free of charge. For a small fee we will welcome well behaved dogs (2 max) and even supply bowls for when they are thirsty after a long walk.

We are also pleased to offer free unlimited high speed Wi-Fi (code available in the property).

This property is strictly No Smoking and to maintain the family friendly nature of the development we do not allow groups of single guests or groups of 8 adults in the house.

Included in the property letting is unlimited access to a 20m indoor heated swimming pool and health club, tennis and games as well as private beach access.

For dogs and walkers the property is near the meadow land on the Bay Development and this includes acres of beautiful parkland and fishing lake(s).

Location - The cottage is conveniently located near the entrance to the Site, just off the A165, allowing easy access to all the amenities this stretch of coast has to offer. A short walk away is a family friendly Public House which serves freshly prepared meals & ales throughout the day, Café Italia - a Brasserie and Coffee Bar, a Pharmacy and private access to the beach. Out and about The Yorkshire Coastline has more than 100 miles of stunning shoreline to explore. Secluded coves, beautiful beaches and picturesque fishing villages are all there to be discovered and explored. The North York Moors National Park boasts the greatest area of National parkland in the UK and is home to the North York Moors Railway which is one of the earliest and most historic lines in the North of England. Its origins go back well over a century and a half, they operate steam trains along an 18 mile line between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont, with trains to Whitby on certain days of the year.

Anchor at The Bay is owned by the Smith family from Leeds, West Yorkshire - Anthony, Kirstie, Adam, Harry & Katie (plus Barney our dog).

We bought the property in 2013 and, although bookings from guests will always take priority, we spend as much time as we can there. We've had many great times at The Bay and really hope all our guests enjoy it as much as we do. We love the walks around the house, the beach and the pool. Its quiet, very warm and cosy (cool in summer) and has all the amenities you could want! Your older and younger guests benefit from unlimited high speed property and this is essential in this gorgeous part of the world!

The gorgeous kept grounds, CCTV access, security and family friendly paths and cycle ways make a great break.

What makes this cottage unique

We have a separate lounge! Only our house style has a separate lounge and we are sure you will love they layout and space that we offer. (all of the other houses on the bay are open plan kitchen / diner / lounge - which ours has with the extra benefit of a lounge - or snug!

As the ex-showhouse our furniture is much better and we also have a connected house - featuring unlimited Wi-Fi and Hive Central Heating with unlimited hot water via a modern combi boiler.

Lovely house, perfect for families

Loved the cottage, area. Very close to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay. Our little ones also loved the house. TV in each room kept them entertained in the evenings. Rooms are good size, kitchen diner is really spacious and well equipped.

Beautifully presented cottage

We had a lovely time at the cottage, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. There is all you need provided for. The bay is a lovely development and we loved the walks with our cockapoo on the sweeping (huge!) sandy beach. The owners are very responsive to messages and I would not hesitate to recommend this holiday cottage to anyone. It is well loved by the owners. Thank you for a great time in your home! Rachel x

Stayed here for a few days with some friends. Lovely welcoming, spacious house with all the facilities and equipment you could require. It is excellently situated for exploring the coast and there are some superb coastal walks nearby. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable stay in this pretty house

The cottage is well equipped and is very pleasing to the eye.

4 of us and a dog shared the property for 4 days. It is very handy for the beach and nearby walks. We would score it 7.5/10 the reason for this being the uncomfortable beds which were far too soft for our liking. The central heating was on and not required and it was difficult to control. There was a problem with the dishwasher trays coming out when loading/unloading.

All of these comments were in the visitors book from a while ago and nothing had been done to correct it.

This is meant as constructive criticism and not just moaning. We are also landlords and respond to feedback from clients. This property could easily score the full 10 and we would go back especially if the comments had been acted on.

Owner's Response: Hi there. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay at our house and thank you for the feedback. We would like to mention a few points in response. The bed frames have been fully replaced following feedback from guests and prior to your stay. Softness of a mattress is a personal perception - but we have just ordered new mattresses and these will be delivered in November 2016. The heating is a smart heating system and we always make sure the house is cosy. There are instructions throughout the house to turn the heating down and all that is required is the radiators need turning down using their TRV . The house heating can also be reduced by pressing a minus button in the hall. Im sorry if you were unable to make this reduce. The dishwasher has never been reported as being faulty and we will correct this ASAP. I should also point out that if you had contacted us to let us know about the issues above, rather than waiting nearly three weeks and only letting us know via the review it would have helped and we could have acted on these asap. Guest feedback is vital to us, we love our house and I can assure you all feedback has and always will be acted upon. Hope to see you again soon.

Walking from our property, the amazing Filey Bay is only 15 minutes away. Shuttle buggies can take you down a ramp to the beach if you require them. Filey bay is a 5 mile golden sandy beach with a short walk into Filey.


The use of a car is helpful, but the property has a bus stopping outside the main road and has easy access to Filey train station.


Walking - 15 minutes Beach

Walking - 5 minutes to the pub and shop on site.

Driving - 3 miles to Filey
