Peaceful retreat with a view.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, quiet "half house" in the backstreets of Rye, close by St. Mary's Church.

Beautifully appointed lounge with stunning views over Walland Marsh.

Compact kitchen area with all that's needed for a holiday home.

Rather steep staircase, though it's my fault for having knackered knees, leading to huge bathroom and comfortable double bedroom, again with great Vista.

All in all, a great find.

Lots of natural light, wonderful coastal views with lots of character

  • 5 of 5

This was perfect for me, close to friends and right in the centre of town. The table by the window overlooking the marshes and coastline is perfect for reading and writing. It is split level with a pretty double bedroom ( again with views) and large bathroom on the first floor. The kitchen /lounge-diner was open plan. I took our cat who is 15 now and he relaxed quite quickly into his 'holiday home'! There was a great welcome from the owners with unexpected food essentials such as milk, eggs and wholemeal bread ,etc. The only thing I would say to future lodgers - and it's not a problem for me - but the steps to the first floor have noticeably deep risers , being an old house, so if someone had a hip or knee problem they may find the stairs a bit tricky. But I loved it. Thank you.

Lovely cottage in the heart of Rye

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 2 nights at the cottage, we were greeted on arrival, given a welcome basket of bread, milk and eggs, even my dog had some treats which was a nice touch. The cottage was spacious and quiet with lovely views, couldn't fault the place, Rye is a lovely town to visit with many bars, restaurants & pretty shops to look in, I would highly recommend it.

Why victoria white chose Rye

Seaview Cottage is situated in the heart of Rye's Citadel with stunning views over the Salts towards Romney Marsh. In fact we think it's the best view in Rye!

Despite being in a peaceful and quiet location, we are just seconds' from Rye's unique shops, pubs, restaurants and famous cobbled streets.

Guestbook comments from the owner

just returned from a beautiful week in Rye which is an incredible town full of character and ancient history . We stayed at Seaview Cottage . So first let's start with the negatives about our accommodation . There that's done now the positives . Well equipped , immaculately clean , spacious with the most incredible views from the windows . Situated at the top of Rye it doesn't get any better. Jason & Caroline really have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. Our dog even had his own welcome pack of chews , bed , bowls , ball and poo bags. Never had that fir home before . The bathroom is large and bright again immaculately clean . The bedroom is so comfortable , had no trouble sleeping and waking up to the sun streaming in through the curtains was a joy. The nesting house martins outside the window added a special treat. If your looking for a place to stay look no further , excellent location , perfect hosts with a beautiful cottage . There really is nothing also to add . Except thank you . Oh and Caroline whatever you wash the bed linen , towels and fleeces always leaves a very pleasant smell where ever you are .
