About Michael Mahy
We are a Bajan/British couple presently living in the UK. We lived at Lascelles for many happy years and our son spent his first 2 years there.
Michael Mahy purchased this House in 2006
Why Michael Mahy chose Lascelles
Comfortable and well-decorated, the property is in a lovely quiet location but still walking distance to Holetown and the beach.

From the start of the booking the contact from the owner Michael was excellent. He was informative and answered any questions we had in a timely fashion. Also when our flight times were changed he accommodated us in another property of his for the last 2 days of our holiday.
Having stayed in Lascelles before I had seen the property from the outside which was nice enough but the inside was amazing. Big spacey and beautiful are the words that come to mind.
Every need and comfort was met. It was so very tranquil and peaceful. From Coffee on the balcony at the side of the house every morning to watching the monkeys arrive via the tennis court across the road, to pick fruit off the trees that are around the pool in the evening was amazing.
As peaceful as the surroundings were we were only a few minutes walk from the Lime Grove shopping centre, busy 1st Street and the local beach. A couple of more meters down the road was the Massey supermarket and a petrol station that serves Patties and other hot snacks till late at night. None of the noise and bustle of this busy area impacted on the peace and quiet at the villa.
Sara the property managerwas always available for whatever was needed.
The only issue we had was the staff coming so early in the morning for a few hours at a time. While we understood in order to keep the house up to the amazing standard it has for the staff to be coming so early in the morning and sometimes being there all day felt a little intrusive. Especially as on holiday you really dont want to be woken at 9am. Also we thought the pool was over chlorinated as it smelt very strong and bleached my grandsons purple shorts pink.
I think the welcome pack could of been more about basic food requirements ie eggs milk bread as opposed to shampoo and shower gel which most people bring with them.
None of these things took away from the beautiful accommodation that Mahy house is and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again next year if it's available.
Cannot recommend this property enough.
Very comfortable home from home
We loved this relaxing home, which has a very spacious open plan layout, with plenty of places for us and the kids to hang out, without getting under each other’s feet.
Pool was great, Sara and team great and location on the edge of Holetown, was perfect, quiet but close to everything.
We loved our stay in this amazing villa
What a place to spend 2 weeks in Barbados. Located perfectly. 5 minute walk to 1st street for the Sunday party.
And just another couple of minutes further to the beach.Where we snorkelled with sting rays.
The villa itself has everything and more and has so much room for large groups you never felt crowded.. If your lucky enough to get the chance to stay here take it, you will not be disappointed
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review for us. It was a pleasure having you and your family with as, you are more than welcome to come again.
Stunning house in a beautiful location with an amazing house manger!
This is our second time staying at the Mahy house in Holetown.
To say that this house is fabulous would be an understatement.
The pool is the perfect size. The beds are comfy. The house is clean with everything you would need. Walls of books and interesting artifacts, everywhere you look there is something of interest.
Monkeys, green parrots, green herons, scaly-necked pigeons were all in attendance in the backyard.
Sarah the house manager is fantastic, only a phone call away. She arranged car service for us, made sure there was chicken and eggs in the fridge for when we arrived. She is personable , approachable and great fun to talk to. If you need something or if something needs to be addressed, you can guarantee she will be on it immediately.
The location is exceptional, a 5 minute walk to the beach, restaurants and the supermarket. Everything you need is right there.
We have already booked again for next year as this house had exceeded our expectations.

Our fabulous stay in barbados
From the initial booking through to our stay and leaving , the communication was superb . Connect via email to Michael the owner , which was managed by Sarah the lovely manager was excellent , who offered to arrange taxi and to get some initial shopping (the later we did and it was so helpful to arrive and the food / drink to be there . Sarah greeted use and after a bit of admin the house was ours . Sarah made us aware of the basics and provided her contact number in case we had any problems . The house had great amenities and was like a family house with books , dvds , sewing kit , swimming pool towels . The air con was very effective in the bedrooms and fans in the other areas keep the air moving . The pool was big enough for a nice cooling dip and a gentle swim , and the side terrace with bbq could seat 13 people and more if you moved chairs . The location is 3 mins from the centre of holetown , very convenient for the Maceys supermarket , the high end shopping / food mall and the beach with nice eating places and little shops to browse. The cleaner / pool / gardener came whilst we were there and all very friendly and professional. The bedding / towels were changed and all very fresh. We did phone Sarah with a question or two and she was very happy to support . In one word , just fabulous , thank you Sarah and owner Michael
It was a pleasure meeting you and your family, you were very tidy and amazing to speak with. Glad you made good use of the house. We really are happy to serve you. Come again soon.
Excellent stay at Lascelles
We had an excellent vacation in beautiful Barbados. We were very satisfied with the property. We had everything we needed and Sarah was very accommodating. The house was extremely clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kids really enjoyed the pool and we spent a lot of time on the covered deck. Everything was within walking distance (Massey, restaurants etc.) but we would recommend a car rental.
Thanks for leaving a review, we are so happy to have had you stay, even more so that you enjoyed the house. You are welcome to come and stay with us again. Thanks for the comments about the staff.
We are located just outside Holetown in a quiet cul-de sac off the main road. The location is 7 mins away from major supermarkets, banks, restaurants, bars, duty free shopping, cinema and beach. Zaccios restaurant does fantastic local fish cakes and rum punch. Tides restaurant is a bit more upmarket/fine dining. The Beach House is restaurant and bar and is great for sundowners and also specialises in great Bajan cuisine at reasonable rates. These restaurants are all seaside with great views and friendly local staff. Hiring a car is useful as there many fantastic sights within 8-12 miles from Lascelles. Animal Flower Cave is set within the dramatic cliffs to the north of the island. On the East Coast (Atlantic side), Cattlewash is 2 miles of stunning, almost empty beach and is great for a breezy walk. There is no swimming there, but you can paddle or go slightly further south to visit Bathsheba - a must-see - for the bathing pools and to watch the surfing. While you are there, stop in at the Round House for local fish pate - pure heaven!! Also lovely for lunch in this area is Atlantis. On the South Coast of the island there is the Oistins Fish Fry on Friday and Saturday. It is a great authentic Bajan outdoor food venue and the place to experience the local party scene. Based in the charming historic city of Speightstown, we recommend Reefers & Wreckers Dive Shop for great scuba diving trips on the west coast of the island. More information on Reefers & Wreckers can be found on Trip Advisor or email directly on email@example.com. Just north of there, near Six Mens Bay, try the Fishpot for a really exquisite lunch with beautiful sea views. Mullins Beach Bar is also a great spot for lunch just south of Speightstown. A great beach for kids and adults alike, with an inflatable playpark and motorboat watersports (ask for Malibu). Spy Watersports provides the ultimate new experience - flyboarding!!
