About the property

E18320

These two unique Scandinavian log houses are enviably situated on Yorkshire’s beautiful and unspoilt heritage coastline and nestled within the North York Moors National Park. Stylishly furnished these superb holiday homes offer accommodation with a slight difference and in particular the two storey log home which offers a mezzanine landing with seating area and balcony, complete with bistro table, chairs and views of the sea. The log houses are situated within 100 yards of the former Scarborough to Whitby railway line, now a famous ‘trailway’ offering a scenic cycle route towards both coastal towns. Nearby, only a short walk away is a secluded bay with a delightful twin waterfall renowned for its link to pirates and smugglers. Staintondale is close to the sea and situated between the bustling resort of Scarborough with the busy fishing port of Whitby a little further north. The log houses provide a perfect base from which to explore the coastline, with the picturesque villages of Ravenscar, Robin Hood’s Bay and Runswick Bay all easily accessible. Also handy for visiting the vibrant market town of Pickering where you may board the North York Moors Steam Railway enjoying a journey through the quaint little North York Moors villages of Levisham, Goathland and Grosmont where the TV series ‘Heartbeat’ was filmed. The line stops at the bustling fishing port with many more attractions to discover. Fitted with a range of stylish kitchen appliances and units, modern bathroom suites, and designer furniture, our homes also have central heating installed throughout. Our log houses offer the ultimate mix of luxury, style and exclusivity in a tranquil and peaceful woodland setting, surrounded by idyllic countryside. There is plenty of room to play and picnic and even a waterfall within walking distance down through the valley which hosts a magnificent array of flora and fauna. Come dusk, you can gaze into the night sky, listen to owls and watch the local wildlife on the edge of the woodland.

Bluebell lodge review 2015

  • 5 of 5

We decided on a short break away, so looked on the owners direct website and came across this little gem. Decided to book with them. Once we got there, the owner came out to greet us and show us the lodge. Once inside we were pleasantly surprised at how lovely it all was. Very clean and well kept, nothing broken or missing, all the items inside were mostly from next and no cheap ikea things like you usually get in other owners lodges we have stayed in. They had put the heating on as it was chilly outside. The owners had left a bottle of wine, cake, bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee, sugar etc. the lodge also had wifi which wasn't stated on the booking much to my children's surprise. The setting is so peaceful as that is what we wanted and no noise even from any roads etc. overall we would definitely stay there again and cannot wait to return. Thank you so much for a lovely welcoming lodge.

Fantastic Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a fantastic week's holiday in Bluebell with our dog, Holly. The log cabins are very cosy and well-equipped with everything you need for a stress-free holiday. The scenery is stunning and there are lovely walks in the vicinity. Ideally situated for touring the Yorkshire coast and also beautiful places inland. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Why not go fossil hunting at Ravenscar, or explore the Jurassic dinosaur cliffs and the coastal picturesque villages of Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay, both of which sit on the cliffs of the Cleveland Way. One of the most visited villages is Goathland which is famous for the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway and Yorkshire TV's 1960's based series "Heartbeat". Here are a few other ideas for great days out in the area.
