Hi, my name is Helen. My family and I bought our villa in 2012 and have shared some wonderful holidays with friends and family, the villa lends itself to be able to accommodate a lot of family without being too crowded. Mum and I have even taken up learning Turkish so that we can talk to locals better! We have been learning for two years now every week, we are getting there...slowly!
Helen Meade purchased this villa in 2012
I fell in love with Seydikemer five years ago when we first went on holiday here. My family and I rented a villa using Owner's Direct and enjoyed our holiday so much that we went back the next year (first time we have ever been back to the same place!). We saw our villa for sale just down the road from the rental property and we haven't looked back since. I manage to go there a couple of times a year and thought it was about time I let others have the opportunity to enjoy this absolutely amazing peaceful, enjoyable holiday location.
Seydikemer is a district in the Mugla province, and is approximately 21 km inland from Fethiye. It is distinct from other destinations because it is set in the country side and is approximately a 40 minute drive from both Patara beach and Oludeniz beach. The town of Seydikemer remains quite a traditional Turkish town, but hosts a variety of local shops, a few cafes, and a couple of restaurants which are popular amongst residents and visitors to the area. The area is surrounded by pine forests and countryside with a stunning mountain backdrop. There is a weekly market every Friday where local produce, clothes and souvenirs can be bought.
You will benefit from an English speaking rep, who will provide welcome pack and excursion details on arrival.
My family have recently returned from a 10 night stay at Villa Kelebek. We were 2 families of 4, with children aged 7-13. The villa was lovely and the swimming pool was a good size for us all to be in at the same time. The weather was beautiful and due to the villa location there was always a gentle breeze, most welcome in the hot sunshine. Seydikemer had many shops, which we visited daily for fresh, delicious produce. The local people were all very friendly too. We hired a vehicle (a must) and enjoyed visiting various places such as Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Patara beach....all fabulous. There were a few little niggles with the villa, such as the air con not working in the lounge and a loose toilet and taps, however, this did not spoil our enjoyment. This was our first visit to Turkey and we loved every minute. We hope to return next year.
We visited Turkey for 10 days in August 2013 and had a great time at this villa.
The accommodation has everything you need for a comfortable stay but to be honest we didn’t spend much time in it as we were always outside swimming, sunbathing, exploring beaches or on excursions!
The location is lovely, amongst a forest, and very relaxing. The pool is the perfect size for some decent lengths and for games if there’s a group of you, plus there were plenty of sun loungers for everyone. Nights in we always ate on the balcony, usually feasting on a barbeque – there’s an outside fridge so you don’t have to reach far for a chilled top up too!
It feels a remote location when you first arrive so very wise to hire a car… once you get used to your surroundings you’ll see there’s lots ‘on the doorstep’ though - food shops, cafés, a Friday market for all your fruit and veg, souvenirs etc some cute restaurants [get a table at Esinti Restaurant in Kemer it has the best views for dining with delicious Turkish food] - all a very short car journey from the villa but probably at least 30 mins walk. Getting taxi’s in the eve is very easy and cheap so worth leaving the car behind then.
Be warned it’s HOT in peak summer regularly reaching 50 degrees [we didn’t mind that] so be mindful of when you book if you find the heat too much. There’s a decent amount of shade poolside though and all rooms have fans/ air conditioning.
Helen Meade was lovely to deal with and we’re hoping to return to this villa and Turkey in the near future.
My family and I (husband, son and girlfriend, daughter and boyfriend) stayed in this villa last August. It was a fabulous holiday and I would throughly receommend the villa. The villa is fabulous, although there is loads of space it also felt very homely - just like home. The owners left us loads of information too. The properly was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained. The pool and garden is fabulous - the pool is cleaned every day and there are loads of sunbeds and garden furniture etc. The villa is situated in a quaint, traditional Turkish village but with great facilities. There are a couple of great restaurants and a supermarker and a fabulous bakers. Eating out at Estini's in the village is a must. The owners even picked us up in his mini-bus! The villa is so fantastic it is actually a wrentch to leave, however you are only 20 mins away from the fabulous Blue Lagoon and a couple of lovely harbour towns where you can sit and watch the world go by. My family and I have travelled the World and we actually like visiting different places but would definitely go back to this villa again, I cannot receommend it enough.
