Fabulous Villa in the Vineyard
Comfortable large villa with plenty of space to accommodate a sizeable group of adults. Right in the vineyards of the surrounding chateaus with good trails to walk/run. Beds were very comfy. The kitchen and eating areas superb. Good water pressure. Approachable host. A real gem in the Medoc.
Lovely helpful guest who left the house in immaculate order. Would love to host Pamela and her family again.
Wonderful villa in beautiful surroundings
We had a fantastic week here, the villa is spacious and well-appointed, the outdoor space in particular is glorious. The hosts were great to deal with. Highly recommended.
Great relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting
Lovely villa with everything you will need in it. We hired bikes to cycle to some local vineyards. Beautiful setting for a relaxing holiday with friends.
We stayed at this property at the beginning of July. The Villa itsself is fabulous. It is cosy, homely and full of character whilst still being spacious and a joy to live in. The kitchen is the best equipped I have ever come across and the huge sliding doors out to the pool make it a beautiful room. What you don’t get from the photographs is the sense of peace and tranquillity. It was wonderful to sit overlooking the endless vineyards and watch red kites circling overhead, swallows dipping down to drink from the pool and even a hare running through the vines. The pool was big and deep enough to keep our teenagers happy. We enjoyed walking and cycling into the village to pick up things from the bakery. We also enjoyed several afternoons out to Hourtin and an evening visit to Bordeaux using the park and ride system, unfortunately it was just so hot while we were there we couldn’t do more during the day. Lisa was great to deal with and quick to respond to any queries that we had. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful region.
Absolutely fantastic property - a real home from home!
We really can not recommend this villa highly enough. From the moment you arrive and see that view you relax and start enjoying your holiday.
The villa itself is extremely spacious with a large lounge/dining room, a fantastic kitchen (complete with indoor BBQ - which cooks the best steaks!), a beautiful bathroom, and 4 double bedrooms.
The outdoor space is just fantastic - the pictures, if anything, don’t do it justice. The pool and terrace are perfect and the view across the vineyards is really special. It’s also extremely private and felt really safe which we really appreciated having 3 young children in the party.
Everything we needed was there, especially in the kitchen - there was every utensil, bowl, corkscrew, gadget we needed - even kebab scewers. As I say, a real home from home.
In terms of location the villa is a 2 minute drive to the nearest town (which has the best boulengerie I have ever seen), and the supermarkets are about another 10/15 minute drive so really not far to go for supplies.
We had a really special time at the Villa and will absolutely be returning. We’ve also recommended it to all our friends and family for their next holidays. The experience was made easier because of the owners who are extremely approachable and couldn’t do enough to answer any queries we had, even providing a second travel cot for us when only one was originally available.
Hopefully the above gives the Villa the review it deserves. We very much look forward to returning in the near future!
It gives us real pleasure to know Ben and his family enjoyed the house and our vineyard location in the midst of the world famous Listrac vineyards. We look forward to welcoming Ben and his family and friends back in the future!
Characterful, comfortable family villa with views
Villa was even better than expected; very spacious, comfortable, clean and well-equipped with great character . Views over the vineyards and open skies are something special, as is the deck and pool area. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful both before and during our stay and a useful handbook is provided. Villa is very well situated for local walks and vineyard visits, coastal bike rides and visiting Bordeaux (which has a very good park and ride system). We had a very relaxing week and would love to return.

There are 300 chateaux within 30km on the villa. Many open their doors and cellars for tours and tastings. Listrac is one of the "appellation villages" which. form part of the world-renown Médoc wine producers including top-end producuers in the grand cru classe. The vill is located 20km to the heart of the Médoc region, Margaux. There are various sub-regions within the Haut-Médoc, including St-Estèphe, Pauillac, St.-Julien and Margaux and the less well known areas of AOC Moulis and Listrac. According to wikipedia with the exception of Château Haut-Brion from Graves, all of the red wines in the 1855 Classification are from the Médoc. Many of the Médoc wines that are not in this classification were classified using the Cru Bourgeois system until 2007 until this was replaced in 2010. Many small independent producers open their cellars to visits and tastings and wines are affordable and often grown and processed next door to the famous names.
