Stairs lead from the living area to a large mezzanine space or 'studio'. This can be used either as an extra bedroom area or additional living area. On one wall is an original fresco whilst on the other there is a feature window looking down onto the room below. The space was conceived as a space to listen to music. However, it does have a full size sofa bed. And with it's own bathroom at the foot of the stairs, it does make a potential 4th sleeping area. Set above the master bedroom is another double bedroom, this time inspired by the spirit of India and Morrocco. Enjoying the same dazzling views as the master bedroom below it, the room is set on 2 levels. On the lower level is an Indian daybed whilst on the upper level there is a low double bed, covered with a beautiful Indian marriage quilt. 3 Bedroom Villa:
Inside, the villa is exceptionally stylish, furnished with pieces from around the world which have been collected by the owner on her extensive travels. Her attention to detail and eclectic mix of styles has imbued the property with a character and warmth that is rarely found in a holiday home. The overall feel is fresh and contemporary. The property has 3 bedrooms. The first was inspired by the deep blues of the South of Italy and is adorned with rich textiles, paired with cool white walls and an old cotto floor. A king size bed provides the perfect nights sleep whilst the ensuite bathroom has a wonderful double shower, stone sink and toilet. It enjoys beautiful views on to the garden. The second bedroom also leads directly onto the garden. Again, it has a comfortable king size bed but this time draws very different inspiration from the owners' travels in Laos, Cambodia, Burma and India. The warm saffron yellow and green tones of the room work in harmony with the souvenirs that it houses. Within the room is a fully equipped shower room. The master bedroom is situated on the first floor of the villa and again enjoys wonderful views onto the garden and over the Umbrian hills. The colours of the Moroccan rug harmonise with the red king size bed from Minotti, and the curtains are made from fine Indian cotton. The ensuite bathroom again has the luxury of his and her showers. It is modern, simple and chic. There is an extra WC at the top of the stairs. The kitchen is light and airy open space. It is practical and unfussy but at the same time both pretty and perfectly furnished. On the right of the room there is the kitchen and dining area with a table seating 6 to 8. To the left, there is a comfortable sofa with old linen and beautiful pillows sourced from Istanbul whilst opposite there is a flat screen television concealed behind an antique door. The floors are a soft grey resin and the accent colour is green. It is chic, cheerful and modern. Outside, there is a lush private garden scented with rosemary, sage, verbena, thyme and lavender. A private pool allows guests to enjoy a relaxing dip when the heat gets too much. Beautiful fig and cherry trees provide welcome shade as well as an abundance of delicious fruit, whllst lanterns hanging in the trees light the garden at night. The Umbrian climate is excellent with long, hot Summers and mild Spring and Autumn seasons and this garden provides a tranquil oasis of calm to enjoy whatever the time of year. The garden has been planted with roses, olives and cypress but has also been designed to provide maximum space for guests, whether they are wanting to recline in the shade or to spend an evening over a meal with friends and family. An outdoor kitchen has been created, allowing guests to make the most of their al fresco dining experience. Guests will be able to enjoy the incredible views that overlook the Chiona valley. It really is the perfect outdoor setting.
2 bedroom villa:
Inside, the cottage is exceptionally stylish and the property has a character and warmth that is rarely found in a holiday home. Originally a simple stone building on the edge of Spello's town walls, it has been completely re-designed and restored so that the overall feel is now fresh and contemporary. Guests enter the property via a stylish lobby. A bright Moroccan rug and cushions adds colour. However, the eye is drawn along the stone path and raised flower beds to the spacious garden on your left. Straight ahead a covered outdoor seating area sits adjacent to the open plan kitchen and living area. As guests enter the property, they will see the pretty, practical but perfectly furnished kitchen and living space. On the right is the kitchen and dining area. To the left there is a comfortable, linen-covered sofa opposite a fireplace with a modern flat screen television set on a low table. A French-style café table and chairs, linen blinds and curtains and a pair of old Belgian metal shutters (hiding china and cutlery) add character to the open-plan space. The floors throughout are a soft, taupe resin finish and the accent colour is Hermes orange. It is a chic, cheerful and modern space. An arched doorway leads to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom truly is a peaceful and romantic retreat, with breathtaking views over farmlands and the Chiona hills beyond. The king-size bed has a natural linen cover and the curtains are made from fine Indian saris bought in Pondicherry. Wall hung clothes hooks have been copied from a traditional Italian design and there are linen-lined baskets for folded clothes. Adjacent to this room is the smaller second bedroom. Both bedrooms share the gleaming white modern bathroom. A large shower, good directional lighting, an oversize hot towel rail and wall mirror combine to make bathing a delight. Outside there is a private garden.

About Jo Mackay (Bookings For You Ltd)
I am a mother with 2 children, age 12 & 15 and a very busy husband! I gave up work with Procter and Gamble 12 years ago to spend time at home with the children. I have loved being able to spend so much time with them. However, with both children now at school, I was keen to start working again. I initially enjoyed managing two of our own holiday properties in the Italian Lakes which we bought in 2008 and 2009 following our first visit to the area in 2007. However, I have now started to manage holiday homes for others, not just in the Italian Lakes, but elsewhere in Italy through my site (Bookings For You). I carefully select each property and ensure that I maintain that personal but professional service level that I believe holidaymakers are looking for.
Why Jo Mackay (Bookings For You Ltd) chose Spello
These are absolutely beautiful properties, which have been restored and renovated to an incredibly high standard. Each room has it's own individual character, inspired from the owners travels around the world. The service guests receive during their stay is just as high.
