About Barbara Elborn
Paul & I live in Newcastleton at Yethouse, our other self-catering property above the village. Since starting in 2009 we have hosted over 2,000 guests and look forward to welcoming many more. We love meeting new people and showing them our small wee village and what it has to offer. Many have returned time and again. We are proud to have been chosen as a small wedding venue and particularly love it when the sun shines and we are able to marry couples under the fruit arbour in the garden. We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy the village and its hospitality soon, if there is anything further you need to know please do get in touch. firstname.lastname@example.org

Why Barbara Elborn chose Newcastleton
Dalkeith House used to be the one of the village manse' and is significantly bigger then the church is was linked too! It has had a varied history since being rebuilt in circa 1850, its most recent claim to fame was as part of the Barbour factory. The top floor used to house 30 machinists who sat by the very large windows giving extra light, sewing wares. It now has 5 very large double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms!

Absolutely recommend a stay here in Newcastleton. Wonderful house that has everything you need for a comfortable time. Very well equipped kitchen, lovely comfy bedrooms with en suite, and even an impressive dining room for a dinner party.
The people of the village are so welcoming and helpful. Recommend the Copthorne Kitchen. Food was sublime.
Definitely recommend a stay here.
Thank you for your kind words, much appreciated. Lovely to meet you all.
Fantastic house to celebrate New Years with Friend
The house was spacious and beautifully furnished. There was ample space for 10 of us and 2 lounges meant the kids had their own space.
The beds were so comfortable everyone slept really well. The large bedrooms and ensuites meant nobody had to compromise on bedrooms.
We cooked and made use of the large dining room. There was plenty of kitchenware and even a wine fridge👍.
Nice touches like a large Christmas tree, lots of logs for the fire, biscuits and whisky and gin as gifts made it extra special.
Would definately recommend as a place to stay with family or friends.
Thank you for taking to post your feedback, much appreciated. Delighted you all enjoyed your New Year and everyone got excited with the piper - does make a Scottish Hogmanay quite special! Haste ye back as they say in these parts! Best wishes B
Beautiful house with everything you need in a stunning location
Fulll attention to detail in this property and the photos don’t do it justice it is totally stunning. Traditional house with high ceilings and period features but packed with all the mod cons needed to make your stay perfect. The village is great too with the butchers a must visit along with homespun craft workshops ... we all had a fantastic time and would definitely stay again
Thank you. Delighted you all enjoyed the house and our wee village. Haste ye back!
Beautiful house, plenty of room to spread out in.
The house is well equipped and beds are luxurious. Everyone of the group had a great time.
It had everything
A wonderful house on the border
This is the second time in 3 months we have stayed a Dalkeith house and we have had two fantastic holidays. The only thing that lets this house down is the photographs in the flesh the house is a lot better. The owners are wonderful people and can't do enough to make you stay a good one without seeing them I would recommend this house to anyone.
Thank you. Lovely feedback, much appreciated. Best wishes B
Newcastleton is off the beaten track but once you find us you wont need to leave unless you want bright lights and designer shopping! Nestled in the Liddesdale valley it is known locally as Copshaw Holm and was founded in 1793 by the Duke of Buccleuch. Not much has changed since then but we do have broadband and mobile phone cover!
The village is perfect for families or friends spread north and south, east or west as we are located only 30 minutes drive from the M6/M74 corridor making it very accessible.
Surrounded by the Liddesdale hills it is the perfect spot to catch your breath, relax and rejuvenate.
