Guestbook comments from the owner

We have stayed at many holiday rental houses over the years, some abroad and some in the UK, and your cottage was certainly one of the most comfortable and well equipped. My partner and son loved the cycling (including Hardknott Pass) and the weather was kind to us until the last day. We would certainly consider another visit.

Described as a beautiful traditional cottage and that is exactly what it is

  • 5 of 5

From arrival the cottage was in pristine order and looked very homely. The kitchen was well equipped and was perfect for the four of us. We ate out most evenings as local pubs and restaurants are not to be missed and all within a five minute walk from the cottage. Likewise shops for necessities such as milk and breakfast are within a few minutes so all in all its very much near to everything you could want. Going back to the cottage we stayed in September so some evenings were cool but the gas fire was easy to use and we found the living rooms very comfortable to sit and chat over a glass of wine. Bedrooms and bathroom were spotless and the beds were comfortable. We didn't use the games but if we had brought children they would be useful to occupy them.

All in all the cottage is very comfortable and very well located and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone and if we holiday in the area in the future I would try to book this cottage again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to submit such a favourable review. We hope we have equipped the cottage as we ourselves would like to find a property to use when on holiday. We are indeed very fortunate with the location as we have great hostelries and shops within a short walk from the cottage. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the none too distance future. Kind regards Kim & David.

Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Delightful cottage immaculate but homely, my son loved it that there was a PS4 and Xbox along with games.

Right on top of great restaurants and shops.

Very well equipped kitchen and a sweet little courtyard with patio table and chairs.

Will definitely return.

Crofton Cottage Bowness

  • 5 of 5

This cottage comes highly recommended. It was spotless and decorated to a lovely standard. The owner and caretaker really look after it well. I visited with three friends, we are all aged 55-75 and everyone of us loved this cottage. It is within minutes walk of the Lake at Bowness, and is surrounded by restaurants and pubs within a few minutes walk. The walk to Windermere is about 20 mins and you can shop till you drop.

I would recommend this cottage in terms of location and standard of cleanliness and décor, without doubt. I will be returning later in the year for sure.

Very comfortable holiday cottage with great location

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely few days staying at Croften Cottage, we found the cottage to be very comfortable, with a great location. We were able to walk from the cottage, taking the ferry and walking to Hill Top Farm and Wray Castle.

The cottage was warm and friendly. We felt right at home and comfortable. The area is loaded with places to eat, we didn't eat at the same place twice. The boat tour was well worth it. Mountain goat tours was amazing and well worth it. The area is wonderful for walking and we felt very safe. We never travel to the same place twice as there is just to much world to see but we would consider returning here, even the cold didn't spoil our time.
