Apartment in Morillon, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Lovely Traditional French Village With Everything You Need For A Perfect Ski Or Summer Break.

Apartment #44 is a bright and cheerful one bedroom apartment on the second floor that can sleep 4/6. It is in an enviable position in Morillon village (alt. 700m) right next to the bubble lift that takes you to Morillon 1100 from where you access 265Km of piste. It is also at the foot of a red run (with snow cannons) so you can ski right up to the bar housed within the apartment block for your apres ski. Children can toboggan behind the apartment or on the slope when closed.

Hi, nice to meet you. Wayne and I (Carolyn) live in Ipswich, Suffolk with our two children Noah & Amelie. We fell in love with Morillon on a short ski break and immediately went about finding ourselves an apartment which we now view as our home away from home. We still can't believe how lucky we are to be able to spend time in Morillon, as it is so fantastic both in Summer and Winter.

We enjoy sharing our little part of France with others, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why Carolyn Crabb chose Morillon

The area just provides you with everything you need on your doorstep! The views, whether skiing on or off piste there is always something new to discover, the convenience of the bubble lift opposite, the ease of which to get here (no hairpins, no queues, haven't needed winter tyres or snow chains yet), great service in the Twinner Hire Shop just below, dropping into the local bar underneath for your apres ski, and that is all just in winter. In summer it is equally amazing and I love going out on my road bike and then eating on the balcony, watching the mountain bikers either setting off up the bubble lift or arriving back at the end of the day.

And then theres the walk to the lovely bakery in the morning with the sun coming up over the mountains - my favourite time of day......

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is situated conveniently opposite the bubble lift and offers you your own ski locker situated in the basement, and a ski hire shop and bar within the apartment block. Hot water and heating are included in our prices, so just relax and enjoy your holiday knowing all is taken care of. Don't worry, despite the proximity of the bubble lift, it only starts up at 08.45, finishes at approx. 17.30 (it only runs if someone is using it) and we have never found it to be noisy. Once the morning rush has departed, it is very peaceful.

Travel:

Easily accessible by car, it is one of the closest of the Alps resorts to Calais. The nearest Airport is Geneva, 40 minutes away, and we can recommend transfer companies who will provide a reduced rate. A car is not required in Winter but we would recommend it in Summer. If you wish to access the mountains via a different bubble lift, or visit nearby beautiful Samoens, a ski bus stops just outside the apartment. It is free with your ski pass.

Distances:

Central location in Morillon. 4Km to Samoens either by road or via a pretty river path suitable for mountain bikes and walkers. 60Km to Geneva Airport (discounted transfers available), 100Km to Chambery Airport. 870Km to Calais.

Further Details:

Morillon offers a number of ski hire places (we offer discount with Twinner-Verneret under our apartment), a tourist information office, a cash point, and an ESF ski school office. There are also a number of bars and restaurants, a butchers, a well stocked small supermarket, a delicatessen, and a fantastic bakery, as well as a great lakeside bar/cafe. In summer the ski hire shops change to offer rafting, mountain biking and parapenting instead, and the lake becomes lifeguarded with a small beach for children, with a high wire assault course in the trees behind it. Other activities in Winter include husky sledding, snow shoeing, and the Big Air cushion for practising jumps. In Summer there are many activities a few of which include swimming, rafting, horseriding, road biking, golf as well as the mountain biking and walking for which the valley is so famous.

Booking Notes:
Please contact us to discuss your booking and confirm availability. On confirmation of your booking we request a £100 deposit with the final payment due 8 weeks before departure. We also request a £100 security deposit of which £20 is the key deposit. We will send you the keys by special delivery in good time before your departure, but don't hesitate to contact us for any special arrangements. Your security deposit will be returned within 7 days of your return.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday. Departure time is 10am (where guests opt to clean the apartment it is 11am), thus allowing new arrivals access from 4pm. We get numerous requests for short breaks and will endeavour to accommodate these outside of peak times.

Summer Holiday Deal! £450 for two weeks (£250 per week)

Outside: There is a balcony which is furnished with a table and folding chairs during the summer months. The grounds surrounding the apartment are ideal for exploring, safe for children and in Winter, once the ski run is shut, a great toboggan run. Final cleaning is not included in the price and costs £50 (Guests can opt to clean themselves, please ask). Linen and Towels are not included, but can be brought with you, or hired through our agents, please ask on application. Other: There is a ski locker in the basement.
