About Brian Hardie
We bought this apartment in 2014 having learned what a wonderful place Samoens is for both winter and summer visitors. The skiing on Grand Massif is fabulous while summer visitors will appreciate adventure holidays to bike, walk, climb. raft, paraglide or whatever. We love staying ourselves and take advantage of the diverse facilities that Samoens has to offer all ages. Naturally, work gets in the way of us spending as much time as we'd like there, so we hope to rent it for several weeks a year. We expect that most guests will want to return as the location is great and Samoens is a beautiful medieval village that is bustling all year round. We hope you choose to stay here and enjoy it as much as we do! Sandra and Brian Hardie

Why Brian Hardie chose Samoëns
Samoens is a wonderful location and we love our frequent visits. Samoens is thriving in summer and offers a truly excellent holiday destination for family activities. With average summer temperatures in the mid 20s to 30's and numerous activities on our doorstep, it's a holiday destination not to be missed. With the Grand Massif Express lift now open in summer, you can easily enjoy: Mountain biking, hiking, climbing, rafting and other river activities, quad biking, horse riding, canoeing, swimming in lakes, adventure parks, parapenting, archery, golf driving range, historic tours, botanical gardens, waterfalls, nature reserve, wildlife walks, kids club etc... These are all within 5 minutes of Samoens! A little further afield is Annecy, Geneva and Chamonix Mont Blanc.

Cosy apartment, great location, helpful owners.
The apartment isn't huge but it had everything we needed for a family of four. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped with plenty of hot water to ease tired muscles after a day on the slopes.
Less than five minutes walk from the village centre and about two minutes from the ski-bus stop. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and we're already thinking about going back again.
a little gem
A wonderful little apartment, great location, very central in Samoens and easy access to the ski bus. Has everything you need. Owners were most helpful before and after our stay. Well reccomended
Perfect cosy ski apartment in Samoens
My son and I spent a lovely ski holiday in Samoes and felt right at home in Brian’s apartment. This cosy apartment offered everything that we needed for our ski holiday and was conveniently located near the town center and a 5-minute bus ride to the Grand Massif Express. Brian gave incredibly clear arrival information and recommendations for our stay, including the Roland Gay ski shop where I got new equipement - this has never happened in 15 years of renting in the Alps - and wonderful service ! Before and during our stay, Brian was very prompt in responding to our inquiries. We would love to come back during the summer months so we could enjoy the patio and back yard as well as, of course, the hiking and everything else the mountains has to over in the summer.
Fantastic setting very convenient
We had a lovely stay in samoens. The apartment was perfect for the two of is and was equipped with everything you would need, a perfect base. The owners were brilliant and very helpful both before and after our stay. Thank you
Thanks Bex, Really happy you had a great time. You are most welcome to stay again of course. Best Brian and Sandra
Very comfortable studio apartment. Well appointed, with everything you need for your stay.
Location is excellent, just a minutes walk into a very pretty town centre. Samoens is chilled and relaxed, great restaurants and a couple of bars. The deli's are excellent as well, very tempting!
The ski bus stop is about 150 yards away, and the slopes a 1 minute bus ride, its a great location. Grand Massif skiing is excellent, well linked up and looked after. Mountain restaurants were a refreshing friendly change as well!!
All in all, excellent!
Really appreciate the feedback - come again soon.

Nice and Cosy
Me and a friend stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks. It is a really nice, clean apartment, no complaints at all. It has all the basics you need for a self catering apartment and more. Great shower/bath and excellent location to shops/pubs and bus stop for the ski lifts. Would definitely stay here again.
Thanks for the feedback - very much appreciated. Do let us know when you are next thinking of a ski holiday - we'd love to have you stay again (and the Xbox is working properly now too!)

While there is no beach, the local lake is a delightful 10 minute walk away and has many beach type activities during the summer. Wonderful walks, adjacent to the amazingly clean open air heated pool and tennis courts. There is also a golf range on the lake, paragliding, adventure high rope tree challenge in both Samoens and Morillon, brilliant biking routes, exhilarating rafting and even disk golf (with special frisbees) at Samoens 1600.

All local amenities are situated in Samoens and less than 5 minutes walk away. The local supermarket is 2 minutes walk and serves all basic needs. The boulangerie in town is recognised for the excellence of its bread, especially its Parisienne. There is a complete set of other retail outlets in the village as well as 3 banks and cash machines. The Tourist Office is extremely helpful and will offer advice on the complete range of services, facilities, activities and travel information as meets your fancy. It is in the main square as you enter town and opposite the bus station and ice rink. (A new ice rink is being constructed and is scheduled to open in 2015).
A larger supermarket (Carrefour) is 1km out of town while Tanignes (15km) is a slightly larger village and also has a nice new Super U.
Frequent free buses scoop up skiers for a short 2 minute trip to the fast gondola (it is a 12 minute walk from the apartment if you prefer) and ample free parking at the gondola. Alternatively, take the bus or park 2 km up the hill at Vercland or 4 km to Morrilon for a different start to your day. Les Carroz is a 25 minute drive around the mountain.
Visitors can check the Samoens web site or reading a recent article from the Telegraph for a different (and not too biased) perspective.
