Cottage in Trefin, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Situated In A Quiet Lane Overlooking The North Pembrokeshire Coast.

Charming and secluded 3 bedroomed old cottage at the end of a quiet lane with sea views (10-15 minute walk down path to coast path). Ideal for relaxing holiday with activities to suit all. Sleeps 6 (2 twin bedrooms and 1 room off lounge with double sofa bed), comfy lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom (bath, shower and toilet) and shower/toilet. Lovely garden and plenty of places to sit and eat inside and out. Sheltered yard outside kitchen. The cottage is midway between St Davids and Fishguard, easily accessible to local beaches, local pubs, shops and 10-15 minutes to the coastal path and great walks. It is fully equipped and soft furnishing beautifully made by the owner. Broadband available and pets welcome. The cottage enjoys superb sea views stretching from Strumble Head peninsula to Porthgain. It provides superb vantage point from which to track the main birds of passage that pass over the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is ideally situated for naturalists and other seeking a relaxing break in all seasons.

Notes on accommodation: Caerau Isaf, a traditional semi detached stone cottage offers mostly ground floor accommodation although there is a small den in the eves, ideal as a play area. Beamed ceilings and quarry tiled floors, keeping some of the original charm and character, the cottage offer delightful accommodation, is comfortably furnished and well equipped. Outside: There is a large private mature garden with delightful views of the sea and countryside. Ample outdoor furniture and a barbecue. In the shed there are some wetsuits and body boards which guests are welcome to use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The cottage is cleaned for your arrival and bedlinen is supplied. Tea towels and some cleaning materials are also supplied. Bath towels and beach towels are not supplied. Other: There is a separate dining room with pine table and chairs, built in bookcase which leads into the kitchen.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location

A really well equipped cosy cottage. Ideal for a family stay. Good walks and close to all the beautiful pembrokeshire beaches. Good breakfast to be had the Mill Cafe and great fish and chips at Porthgain.

We all enjoyed our stay here.

Just great!

We were accommodated with our 5 members family (2 bigger and 1 small child) for 2 weeks. And our impression? The best cottage, which we have had so far. A perfect place if you search for a cozy and original accommodation (not suitable for people expecting a new and sterile building). The cottage is very spacious and would be big enough for at least another 2 people. It is very well equipped and as we were not only lucky with the weather, we really appreciated the washing machine combined with a dryer. There are all needed dishes in the kitchen and we were pleasantly surprised by availability of all kinds of basic ingrediences: salt, spices, oil, sugar,meal, tee, koffie etc. The property was clean and is very comfortable, there is a large and really beautiful garden there (there is even a small herbs garden in front of the kitchen window), the view is great. Maps and ideas for activities in the surroundings are available. Walks to the sea can be done directly from the Cottage, the coast is fantastic. Communication with the owner was very good. For shopping (food) we would recommend to visit Aldi in Haverfordwest during your trips (perfect choice and distinctly lower prices in comparison with shops in the closest surroundings).

Extremely peaceful, comfortable cottage.

Have come away feeling very rested - so peaceful, could only hear birds and bees! The cottage was well equipped, clean, tidy and comfortable and a delight to stay in. The owners obviously love their cottage. Loved the home made soft furnishings. The gardens were beautiful and there is much more to them than the description suggests. The sun room was our favourite place to sit. The only downfall might be that if a double bed is needed, it is in the sun room, meaning that it cannot be used to sit in. However, the lounge is beautiful too. Being able to walk 15 mins down a country path to the bay was a treat. St. David's, Skoma and the Whitesands Beach are all within 20min drive. Thank you for lending out this lovely place.

A peaceful haven ,a world apart.

A fabulous spacious cottage in a peaceful haven tucked away in the green countryside but only 15 minutes walk down a green lane to the little bay of Aberfelin and the village of Trevine. The cottage is so cosy and tranquil , I immediately felt at home and loved all the beautiful soft furnishings , it is so well equipped with more than anyone could need . A clean and well maintained place ,with good service and communication from the owner. The little extra welcome pack of milk and welsh cakes were great and much appreciated.Watched some super sunsets from the sun room with views over the distant sea. I would recommend this little haven to anyone wanting a quiet ,relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting .

The delightful cove of Aberfelin is approx 10 minutes walk away and the sandy beach at Ynys Barry is approx 30 minutes walk. There are various beaches and coves, including Whitesands (famous for surfing) approx 15 minutes by car, Newgale 30 minutes by car, Abereiddi, (famous for the Blue Lagoon and the Red Bull diving championships) 10 minutes by car. The cottage is well placed for exploring the beaches and places of interest.


Cardiff airport is the nearest to Pembrokeshire and is approx 2.5 hours away by car. The ferry port to Ireland and the railway station are both in Goodwick, approx 20 minutes by car. There is a Hertz car rental in Goodwick should you wish to hire a car. A car is essential to explore the area.


The village of Trefin is approx 15 minutes walk from the cottage, the Ship Inn and The Old Mill Cafe can be found there offering places to dine. St David's, the smallest city in the UK (approx 5 miles) with its cathedral and Bishops Palace is well worth a visit, plenty of small shops and restaurants, banks and supermarkets. Fishguard (approx 10 miles) has a small market on Thursdays and Saturdays, art galleries, coffee shops and a picturesque little harbour at Lower Town.

Further Details:

Surfing, kayaking, coasteering, horse riding, fishing, golf, are just a few of the activities to be found locally. Pembroke Castle is just one of many ancient castles, churches, cromlechs, iron age forts - the area is steeped in history. There are many attractive gardens to visit and a trip to the Preselli Hills with its wooded valleys, streams, waterfalls that give way to moorland with wild ponies grazing and panoramic views across the Irish Sea provides a different perspective to the coastal areas of the county. The special light and clean atmosphere has attracted artists and craftspeople to this beautiful part of the world. Throughout the year there are music festivals, concerts and recitals in Fishguard, St Davids, Milford Haven and various other venues. A boat trip will take you to the islands of Ramsey, Skomer or Skokholm. Visit them in Springtime to see carpets of bluebells and other wild flowers and various sea birds nesting on the cliffs.
